Carl M. Timberman

Graveside services for Carl M. Timberman, 76, of Fairfield will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairfield-Suisun Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Born May 8, 1923, in Brainards, N.J., Mr. Timberman died May 24, 1999, at home.

A resident of Fairfield for 47 years, Mr. Timberman served in the Air Force for 20 years before retiring as a master sergeant. He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Timberman worked as a toll collector for 17 years on the Bay Bridge, Carquinez Bridge and the Benicia-Martinez Bridge. He enjoyed bowling.

Mr. Timberman is survived by his wife, Betty of Fairfield; sons, Robert and John of Fairfield, Ronald of Suisun City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Kaiser Hospice Program, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, 94590.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Theda I. DeLaRosby

Funeral services for Theda I. DeLaRosby, 79, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. today in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Stan Sanderson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield-Suisun Cemetery.

Mrs. DeLaRosby died May 24, 1999, in David Grant Medical Center after a short illness.

Born July 11, 1919, in Flint, Mich., she resided in Fairfield for 43 years. She worked for civil service at Travis Air Force Base as a reservation clerk in PCS. She retired in 1975 after 20 years of service.

Mrs. DeLaRosby is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and William Barboza of Suisun; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Patricia of Shaw, Ore.; sisters, Betty Johndro and Barbara Minkler, both of Michigan; brothers, Edward I. Langley of Florida, and Walter J. Langley and Guy Langley, both of Michigan; grandchildren, Joseph and Amanda Barboza of Suisun, Patricia Pietrucky of Shaw, Kimberly Beage of Williams, Ariz., and Amy Miller of Napa; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Robert L., in 1956 and a son, Robert Michael, in 1966.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Veronica Flores

Funeral services for Veronica Flores, 18, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jim Heden of Hilltop Community Church will officiate. Burial will be at Rockville Cemetery.

Born Oct. 9, 1980, in Berkeley, Ms. Flores died May 24, 1999, in Fairfield, the victim of a homicide.

Ms. Flores was a 1998 graduate of Fairfield High School and then attended Kenneth's Beauty College and received her license when she graduated in 1998. She worked for Great Clips as a cosmetologist.

Ms. Flores was a member of Hilltop Community Church and loved singing and dancing. She was a loving daughter and sister.

Ms. Flores is survived by her parents, Otilio and Margarita of Fairfield; sister and brother-in-law, Margarita and Jim Terrell of Federal Way, Wash.; brothers, Jose and Daniel of Fairfield; grandparents, Liduvina and Victor Santos of Puerto Rico, and Luz Torres of Mexico.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Veronica Flores Memorial Fund at  Washington Mutual Bank, 305 Dickson Hill Road, Fairfield, 94533.

Laura Lee Turnell

Graveside services for Laura Lee Turnell, 92, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Saturday in East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento.

Rising Star No. 36, Order of Eastern Star will officiate. Interment will follow.

Mrs. Turnell died May 23, 1999, in Sunrise La Mariposa Care Center after a long illness.

Born Oct. 17, 1906, in Harrisonville, Mo., she lived in Fairfield for eight years, and prior to that she lived in Sacramento for 73 years.

She was a longtime member of the Naomi Chapter 36, Order of Eastern Star, Sacramento, receiving the Dr. Rob Morris Award in 1988. She was a member of the Sutter Hospital Auxiliary of Sacramento, where she made puppets for children, and the Eastern Star Drill Team.

Mrs. Turnell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Ralph Bebeau of Fairfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, 2717 Cottage Way, Sacramento, 95819.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Johnnie Lee Bartolo

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Johnnie Lee Bartolo, 63, of Vacaville at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Benedict DeLeon of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo.

Mr. Bartolo died May 25, 1999, in his home after a long illness.

Born Sept. 3, 1935, in Trinidad,  Colo., he moved to the area 11 years ago. He lived in Albany from 1966 to 1988. He was a truck maintenance technician for Lucky Stores Inc. for 38 years. He served in the Coast Guard for eight years. He was a member of the American Legion and Vacaville Elks Lodge.

Mr. Bartolo enjoyed golf and football. He coached Little League and American Legion baseball teams.

Mr. Bartolo is survived by his wife, Shirley of Vacaville; daughters, Lynnell of Folsom, Jannell Bartolo Spicie of Dublin; Elizabeth Duarte of Pleasanton and Tina Bartolo Vasquez of Richmond; mother, Isabel Garcia of Denver; brothers, Ben Garcia Jr. of Denver and Joseph Garcia of Littleton,  Colo.; sister, Judith Salas of Denver; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society or NorthBay Hospice.

Marie M. Consigli

No services will be held for Marie M. Consigli, 101, of Suisun. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Consigli died May 24, 1999, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center after a short illness.

Born July 10, 1897, in Asti, Italy, she resided in Suisun for nine years. She worked for Troy Sportswear as a seamstress for 42 years.

Mrs. Consigli is survived by her daughters, Stella of Greentown, Pa., and Freda Kothgassner of Suisun; grandchildren, Linda Looney of Auburn and Daniel Kothgassner of Oak Run; and great-grandchildren, Krissy Looney of Auburn and Beau Kothgassner of Oak Run.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a donor's charity of choice.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Jane Ann McVey

Funeral services for Jane Ann McVey, 49, of Vacaville will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at The First Church of the Open Bible in Waterloo, Iowa. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Born March 5, 1950, in Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. McVey died May 26, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center.

Formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. McVey was a self-employed home interior designer.

She is survived by her mother, LaVonne Reiter of Waterloo, Iowa; father and stepmother, Vernon and Caryl of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter, Anna Jane Santor of Vacaville; sisters, Barbara Reiter of Halberstadt, Germany, Judy Harberts of Grundy Center, Iowa, and Jean Dyer of Palmyra, N.Y.; stepbrother, Bob Nagel of Waterloo, Iowa; and grandson, Jake Skylar Santor.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel in Iowa.

Deborah Marfil Morris

A memorial service for Deborah Marfil Morris, 44, of Vacaville will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Chaplain Keith Knauf will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Sept. 11, 1954, in Fairfield, Mrs. Morris died May 26, 1999, in Vacaville.

A resident of Vacaville all her life, Mrs. Morris was a good cook and a loving wife.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband, Bob of Vacaville; son, Tony Marfil of Vacaville; daughter, Tonya Marfil of Vacaville; grandchild, Ramon Lopez of Vacaville; mother, Sparky Davis of Vacaville; brothers, Jimmy and Francis Davis both of Chico; sisters, Shelly Lockwood of Los Osos and Terri Davis of Vacaville. She was preceded in death by her father, James Davis.

Joan Margaret Matterson

Funeral services for Joan Margaret Matterson, 66, of Suisun City will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Matterson died May 27, 1999, at her home of 12 years after a long illness.

Born Feb. 9, 1933, in Rochester, N.Y., she worked for CampCo Ventures near Rockville and supervised production of sleeping bags for more than 12 years before the company ceased operations in 1976.

Mrs. Matterson then worked for more than 20 years at Explosive Technology, where she was very proud of her contribution to aerospace and defense work. She retired in 1996 as a quality assurance inspector.

Before moving to Suisun City, Mrs. Matterson lived in Suisun Valley for 27 years. She enjoyed her activities at the Casa de Suisun Senior Center.

Mrs. Matterson is survived by her daughter, Lynn Margaret Byrd of Patterson; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph James Jr. and Cheryl of Chula Vista, and Karl and Shelley of Fairfield;; son, Eric Matterson of Fairfield; mother, Marion Tacy of Rochester; brother, DeWitt Tacy of Florida; grandchildren, Tracy Byrd of Patterson, Karla Kcksi of  Texas, Amanda of Fairfield, Robert of Fairfield, and Joseph James III of Chula Vista; and great-grandson, Jonathan Warman of  Texas.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association of Contra Costa/Solano, 105 Astrid Drive, Pleasant Hill, 94523.

Arthur J. Carlson

At the request of Arthur J. Carlson, 76, of Vacaville there will be no services held.

Mr. Carlson died May 29, 1999, after a long illness.

Born Oct. 16, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., he was a longtime resident of the East Bay, and moved to Vacaville in 1995. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1942, serving in the South Pacific with the 4th Marine Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor and the Purple Heart. After the war he was in the insurance business for 33 years until he was forced to retire due to his war injuries.

He was very active in community affairs, was a past secretary of the Albany Rotary, and past president of the El Cerrito Boys Club. He was very active with youth baseball including Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion. He was a lifetime member of the 4th Marine Division Association and was an advocate for veterans rights.

Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean, son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Marilyn of Vacaville; son, Jimmy of South Lake Tahoe; and his beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin, Katie, Janae and Julie.

Dorothy Lucille Chase

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Dorothy Lucille Chase, 86, of Fairfield at 10 a.m. June 10 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Michael Downey of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Rev. William Walsh of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rio Vista, will officiate. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Chase died May 19, 1999, in Sunrise Health Care Center after a short illness.

Born Feb. 24, 1913, in Ogden, Utah, she lived in Fairfield for 20 years. She worked as a purchasing Agent in retail sales in Glendale for 10 years. After retiring, she worked as a homemaker for 57 years. She was the past president of the Golden Agers of Fairfield, a member of the Central Solano Citizens Taxpayers Group, and served on the Citizen Committee to Protect Travis.

Mrs. Chase was an avid traveler, loved gardening, was an expert seamstress and had a good sense of humor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Mintha Thompson Proctor

Funeral services for Mintha Thompson Proctor, 93, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Thursday in McCune Garden Chapel.

The Rev. Scott Stone of St. John's Lutheran Church will preside. Interment will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.

Mrs. Proctor died May 28, 1999, in Fairfield.

Born Aug. 18, 1905, in Muskogee, Okla., she was a homemaker. She was raised in Seminole, Okla., until she moved to California in 1943 where she married her husband, Frank. She was a resident of Redding for 37 years and of Vacaville the past 13 years.

Mrs. Proctor enjoyed quilting, sewing and Bible studies.

Mrs. Proctor is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and James Smith of Vacaville; sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman and Sylvia Cates of Redding, Cliff and Diana Edwards of Coweta, Okla., Louie and Jean Edwards of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Glenda Sue Nason, Mark and Gale Edwards, all of Tennessee, John and Sally Edwards, Clifton Edwards, Rick Teague and Connie Ballew of  Oklahoma, Marcy Granberry of Redding, Angela Haws of Tehachapi, Kimberly Mahler of San Jose, Stacy Smith of Elk Grove and Shawna Friesen of Sacramento; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and two sons, Billy Earl and Dale Edwards.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in McCune Garden Chapel.
