Cmdr. James H. Reynolds

There will be a private memorial service for Cmdr. James Hamilton Reynolds, 75, of Fairfield.

A chaplain from the U.S. Navy, John Berger, Ret., will officiate. Interment will be private in Rockville Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

Mr. Reynolds died May 25, 1999, in Laurel Creek Health Center after a long illness.

Born Oct. 23, 1923, in Santa Rosa, he lived in Fairfield 1 1/2 years. He lived in Sunnyvale from 1977 to 1997. He received his bachelor's degree in nautical science from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, and received his master's in administration from George  Washington University,  Washington, D.C.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, from 1941-1971. He served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He retired in 1971 at the rank of commander. During his career in the Navy, he worked as an engineering officer. From 1977 to 1987, he worked for the city of Sunnyvale as a systems analyst. He was a member of Sons of The American Revolution, Oregon/California Trail Association, Retired Officers Association, Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.

Mr. Reynolds enjoyed geneology.

Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife, Ruth A. of Fairfield; son, Ray D. of Sunnyvale; sisters, Velma Kock of Cloverdale and Dorothy Cantrell of Middletown.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Bernadette D. Mahoney

Visitation for Bernadette D. Mahoney, 75, of Fairfield will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday and a memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Rev. Sebastian Meyer of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church will officiate.

Mrs. Mahoney will be buried during a private ceremony at the Rockville Cemetery.

Born Aug. 29, 1923, in Dakota County, Minn., Mrs. Mahoney died June 1, 1999, at David Grant Medical Center after suffering a stroke.

She lived a full and happy life. She traveled the world for 21 years as a U.S. Air Force wife before settling in Fairfield.

She found much joy in her marriage of 56 years and in her family, who loved her very much.

She was active in the Catholic church. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 4113, the Moose Lodge 861 and Block Rosary Group.

Her hobbies included needlecraft, traveling, cards and other games.

She was vivacious and loving to the end.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Patrick of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Donna of Rancho Cordova, Larry and Dee Ann of Sacramento; daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Peter Blake of Vacaville, Nancy and Steve Ferrin of Lake Isabella, and Diane and Kenneth Briltz of Fairfield; brothers, Harold and Dick Kruse of Ellsworth, Wis.; sisters, Florence Conroy of Ellsworth, Kathryn Dries of Hastings, Minn., and Shirley Gipford of Webster, Wis., eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Della Hartman.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Preston L. Martin

A memorial service for Preston L. Martin, 75, of Fairfield will be held at 2 p.m. June 12 at United Methodist Church in Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Martin died May 26, 1999, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

Born May 24, 1924, in Fall River, Mass., he resided in Fairfield for 10 years. He worked as an interior decorator for Kneedler-Fauchere for 16 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vacaville.

Mr. Martin is survived by his sisters, Clydia Hoelzer of Portland, Ore.; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend and housemate, Mel East of Fairfield.

Arrangements are by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Kim Park

Funeral services for Kim Park, 74, of Korea will be held in her homeland.

Ms. Park died May 16, 1999, in Alameda after a long illness.

Born in Korea on Oct. 10, 1924, where she resided her entire life, Ms. Park had been visiting relatives in California when she died.

She is survived by her daughters, Young Park of Oakland and Sun Park of Vacaville; son Duk Park of Alameda; and grandchildren, Tyra, Lylyne, and Cary Williams of Vacaville and Yooran and Hoin Park of Alameda.

Ms. Park also is survived by many family members in Korea.

James T. Annis

A celebration of life for James T. Annis, 32, of Napa will be 4 p.m. Saturday at 510 Hoover St., Napa.

Mr. Annis died May 29, 1999.

He was a 1985 graduate of Aragon High School in San Mateo. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Midway. James will be deeply missed by his family and friends and by his co-workers.

Mr. Annis is survived by his wife of nearly nine years, Cheryl Thein of Napa; mother, Ruth Bennett of Kelseyville; father and stepmother, Tom and Kathleen Rayl of Vacaville; brothers, Rod and Gary, both of Long Beach, Todd and Regan Rayl, both of Vacaville, Clint Rayl of Auburn, and Frank, Bernie and Joe Cesario, all of Santa Clara; sisters, Charlotte Reid of Santa Clara and Cindy Blanco of Sacramento; his grandparents; and numerous nieces and nephews and uncles.

Arrangements are through the care of Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Napa.

Nancy Carol Belperio

Memorial service for Nancy Carol Belperio, 50, of Vacaville will be Saturday in Sedona, Ariz.

Mrs. Belperio died May 29, 1999, at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center after a long illness.

Born Sept. 6, 1948, in Arizona, she moved to Vacaville in 1983. She was a homemaker, took care of her family and was a beloved mother. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church choir.

Mrs. Belperio is survived by her husband, Marlin R. of Vacaville; son, John; and daughter, Lisa.

Arrangements are by North Sacramento Funeral Parlor.

Katherine Fernandez

A funeral Mass for Katherine Fernandez, 86, of Winters was held June 2 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Winters.

The Rev. Joseph Ternullo officiated. Burial followed at Winters Cemetery.

Mrs. Fernandez died May 30, 1999, at Sutter Davis Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 23, 1912, in Fresno, she resided in Winters for 76 years. She and her late husband, Frank, owned a ranch in Winters from 1923 to 1972. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Fernandez was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors and her family said she could plant anything and it would grow.

Mrs. Fernandez is survived by her children, Frank Jr. of Fairfield, John and his wife, Maryann, of Vacaville and Mary Hill and her husband, Austin, of Winters; sister, Victoria Gill of Vallejo; grandchildren, Kimi Ann Fernandez and Katelyn Marie Hill, both of Winters, and Frank, Annie and Becky Fernandez, all of Vacaville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and her parents, Baldemero and Anna Gill.

Arrangements are by Smith's Colonial Chapel, Winters.

Richard 'Sam' Kulasiveg

A memorial service for Richard "Sam" Kulasiveg, 59, of Fairfield will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Fairmont Memorial Park with full military honors by the Travis Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Stan Sanderson will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Kulasiveg died May 30, 1999, in his home after a long illness.

Born June 6, 1939, in Winona, Minn., he lived in Fairfield for 16 years. He served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1982. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired in 1982 at the rank of master sergeant.

He then worked in Vallejo at Mare Island as a systems analyst for PAC ORD from 1983 to 1988, Dynelectron from 1988 to 1989 and Resources Consultants Inc. as a systems analyst and supervisor from 1990 to 1995.

Mr. Kulasiveg worked for Pacific Bell as a systems analyst from 1996 to 1998. He was a member of the VFW in Winona, Minn.; American Legion in Clearwater, Utah; and the Elks Lodge in Tacoma, Wash.

He enjoyed carpentry.

Mr. Kulasiveg is survived by wife, Maria of Fairfield; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Stella of Orlando, Fla.; cousin, Lorene Porubcan of Fond du Lac, Wis.; nephew, Calvin Krueger of Auburn, Wash.; and niece, Cheryl Parsons of Manchester, England.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to National Kidney Foundation of Northern California, 553 Pilgrim Drive, Suite C, Foster City, 94404.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Anna S. Piga

There will be no formal services for Anna S. Piga, 80, of Vacaville. Her ashes will be scattered at sea near the Golden Gate Bridge.

Mrs. Piga died May 27, 1999, in NorthBay Medical Center.

Born Jan. 11, 1919, in Barber, Ark., she resided in Vacaville for 28 years. She worked in sales for many years in the real estate business and was a homemaker and great cook.

Mrs. Piga is survived by her niece, Billie Jean Diehl of  Texas, and many friends from the area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.

Arrangements are by The Neptune Society of Northern California, Fairfield.

Elizabeth Ann Damon Williams

A memorial service for Elizabeth Ann Damon Williams, 58, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Saturday in McCune Garden Chapel.

Associate Pastor Bruce Gallaher of Cross Roads Christian Church will preside. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Williams died June 2, 1999, in Vacaville after a sudden illness.

Born Jan. 22, 1941, in Newton, Mass., she lived in Vacaville for several years. She worked for Solano County Home Health. She was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, John of Vacaville; daughters, Karyn A. Solhan of Indianapolis, Brenda Cline of Aurora,  Colo., and Holly Gutierrez of Vacaville; son, Carl J. of Littleton,  Colo.; eight grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and parents, Kenneth and Virginia Damon of Northport, Fla.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today in McCune Garden Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, 95814.

Margaret K. Anderson

A private family service for Margaret K. Anderson, 78, of Vacaville will be Friday in Vaca Hills Chapel. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson died June 3, 1999, in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born Oct. 6, 1920, in Mississippi, she moved to Vacaville 35 years ago. She worked as a secretary in civil service for 30 years. She was a member of Eastern Star of Vacaville and enjoyed playing bridge.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her son, Charles Musick of Truckee; and grandson, David Musick of Seattle.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County.
