Walterine 'Wally' Conway

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday for Walterine "Wally" Conway, 66, of Fairfield at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela of Holy Spirit Church and the Rev. Sebastian Meyer of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Conway died Aug. 3, 1999, in Sunbridge Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield, after a short illness. Born Jan. 17, 1933, in Louisville, Miss., she lived in Fairfield for 27 years. She graduated from Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio. She served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and left with the rank of staff sergeant. She married A.T. Conway in 1956, and followed her husband during his service with the Air Force. She graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught full time at Armijo High School from 1976 to her retirement in 1996.

She was an active member in the National Council of Negro Women, and the NAACP. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Fairfield, California Retired Teachers Association, Solano County Division No. 24, Solano County grand jury, T.O.P.S. and Fairfield-Suisun Alumni of Black School Educators as well as an active participant in the Booker T.  Washington Revisit Yearly Conference. Mrs. Conway is survived by her husband, A.T. of Fairfield; daughters, Zandra of Smyrna, Ga., and Crystal Graves of Berkeley; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sherrie of Anchorage, Ala.; sons, Patrick of San Jose and Gerald, Arnold and Jeff, all of Fairfield; sister, Roxie Lewis of Flint, Mich.; brother and sister-in-law, Les Paul and Pearl Yarbrough of  Oklahoma City; brothers, Vernon and Mac Yarbrough, both of Flint; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. During this time, it will be the only public viewing. A vigil will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association of Solano County, 817 Missouri St., No. 4, Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Elsie Margaret Siemens

Private services will be held for Elsie Margaret Siemens, 90, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private. Mrs. Siemens died Aug. 6, 1999, at the University of San Francisco Medical Center. Born on March 31, 1909, in Reedly, she moved to Vacaville five years ago and was a homemaker for many years.

Mrs. Siemens is survived by her sons, Clarence of Vacaville, Gordon of Running Springs, John of Urbana, Ill., and Paul of San Pablo; daughter, Catherine Swords of Palmdale; and brothers, Paul Enns of Bakersfield and Herbert Enns of Ortonville, Minn. She also has 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Adele Beaird

Funeral services for Adele Beaird, 68, of Vacaville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Baptist Church, 401 West Tuete Vista Ave., Vacaville. Interment will be private at the Auburn Cemetery in Auburn.

Born July 15, 1931, in Judsonia, Ark., Mrs. Beaird died Aug. 7, 1999, in VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Beaird was a Vacaville resident for more than 60 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for more than 15 years and then started her own business. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and a past board member of Marks Growing Center and loved playing bingo and doing arts and crafts.

She is survived by her son, Steve Bise of Vacaville; daughters, Deena Davidson and Karen Rhodes, both of Vacaville; stepfather, Charlie Kendrick of Vacaville; sister, Becky Garcia of Vacaville; and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95492.

Alfred Bello

A memorial service for Alfred Bello, 79, of Sacramento will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First St., Dixon. Inurnment will be private at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Sept. 4, 1919, in Dixon, Mr. Bello died Aug. 6, 1999, at Sutter General Hospital in Sacramento after a long illness.

Mr. Bello worked for Mace Meat Co. of Dixon as well as Hughes Chevrolet and International Truck of Dixon. He was a volunteer firefighter, member of the Moose Lodge and helped form the first Dixon Little League and Dixon Dance Club. Mr. Bello loved baseball and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Luana Rae Bello of West Sacramento; sons, Patrick Bello of Vacaville, Mike Bello of Carson City; sister, Alice Nunes of Oroville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Dixon Little League.

Patricia M. Bomberg

Funeral services for Patricia M. Bomberg, 51, of Waunakee, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Johns Catholic Church in Waunakee. The Rev. James Gunn will officiate.

Born March 4, 1948, Mrs. Bomberg died Aug. 6, 1999, unexpectedly at her home.

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 17 at Waunakee Middle School.

After graduating from Marquette University in Milwaukee she began a 25-year teaching career. She taught school in Vacaville for almost 10 years in the 1970s before moving back to Waunakee. Mrs. Bomberg enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, attending plays and cross-stitchery. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband, Dale of Waunakee; son, Justin of Milwaukee; daughter, Katie of Waunakee; parents, Ray and Lorraine Laufenberg of Alma Center, Wis.; sisters, Sherry Bartz of Edgarton, Wis., Mary Ann Casper of Alma Center; Lori Domenosky of Alma Center; brothers, Rick Laufenberg and Jerome Laufenberg, both of Alma Center; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Laufenberg and mother-in-law, Edith Bomberg.

Bob Tennant

A memorial service for Bob Tennant, 61, of Vacaville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McCune Garden Chapel. Inurnment will be private.

Born Oct. 14, 1937, in Colusa, Mr. Tennant died suddenly at VacaValley Hospital on Aug. 7, 1999.

Mr. Tennant worked for 31 years at Dow Chemical and owned Travel Network for the past seven years. He enjoyed gardening, skiing, sports, music and travel.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Vacaville; daughter, Katherine Schaefer of Knoxville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laurie Tennant of Orinda; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Lewis Potts of Lodi and Susan and Bart Rholes; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Petsy K. Braga

Funeral services for Petsy Kawaipuilani Braga, 69, of Vacaville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Revival Center Ministries at 910 Tennessee St. in Vallejo.

Pastor Henry C. Cox of Fairfield-Suisun Christian Center will preside. Interment will be private. Mrs. Braga died Aug. 5, 1999, in Dixon after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1929, in Honolulu, Hawaii, she lived in Vacaville for 15 years and Vallejo for 20 years. She was a housewife and mother who worked for Rough Rider and Koret of California garment factory for 14 years. She was minister, head deaconess and prayer warrior of Fairfield-Suisun Christian Center and a past member of Revival Center Ministries of Vallejo.

Mrs. Braga is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Louis Sr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Iris and Godfried Algar Jr. and Lisa and Randel McCormick, all of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Louis Jr. and Vickki of Fairfield; and grandchildren, Sarita, Joyclyn, Maile and Godfried "Alex" Algar III of Vacaville, Mason and Shaina McCormick of Vacaville, and Giovanni, Damien, Louis III and Victoria of Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fairfield-Suisun Christian Center Building Fund, 315 Marina Center, Suisun City, 94585.

Mary Jo Dowling

Funeral services for Mary Jo Dowling, 76, of Fairfield will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate.

Mrs. Dowling died at home on Aug. 8, 1999, after a long illness.

Born on March 17, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio, she had lived in the Fairfield-Suisun area for 41 years. During World War II, she volunteered for the Red Cross as a Gray Lady for several years. While stationed at Travis Air Force Base with her husband, Mrs. Dowling was a volunteer for Family Services for several years. She also volunteered for 10 years at the Well Baby Clinic in the Solano County Hospital both as a member of the Suisun Wednesday Club and on her own.

She and her husband, Donald, who preceded her in death in March 1998, volunteered with the Solano County Meals on Wheels program for 10 years. They also served on the board of directors. She and her husband also were members of the Retired Officers Club. Mrs. Dowling was known as her neighborhood's "Grandma Lady," and also was well-known for her collection of small shoes.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy of Visalia; sons, Tim of Fairfield and Gary of Pope Valley; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Mary of Macedon, N.Y., and Chris and Cecilia of Green Valley; sisters, Ann Hoctor of Deltona Beach, Fla., Jane McGinnis of Warrenville, Ill., and Kay Boatner of Alexandria, Va., grandchildren, Lauren of San Luis Obispo, Breana and Colleen of Macedon and James and Nelsa of Green Valley; and numerous nieces, nephews and many devoted friends.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a rosary at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Solano County Meals on Wheels, NorthBay Hospice, the Suisun City YMCA for children's programs, Solano County SPCA or to the donor's favorite charity.

Victor 'Vic' Hansen

A memorial service for Victor "Vic" Hansen, 69, of Vacaville will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in McCune Garden Chapel.

David Cliche of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1st Ward, will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Hansen died Aug. 9, 1999, in Vacaville after a lengthy illness.

Born Nov. 14, 1929, in San Francisco, he resided in Vacaville for 54 years. He worked for 38 years as a retail clerk, most recently with Food Fair. He was a past member of the Vacaville Moose Lodge, was a 4-H Leader for many years and was a member of the Vacaville Grange.

Mr. Hansen enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking and working with youth.

Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Vacaville; daughters, Kathleen Villalpando and Patricia Connelly, both of Vacaville; daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie and Dan Williams of Vacaville and Kelly and Dale Fletcher of Dixon; grandchildren, Brenda and Jason Connelly of Fairfield, Jessica and Megan Williams of Vacaville, and Amanda and Mathew Fletcher of Dixon; great-granddaughter, Tiara Gilmore of Fairfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Duane Joseph Juber

Funeral services for Duane Joseph Juber, 68, of Omaha, Neb., will be private.

Mr. Juber died Aug. 10, 1999, after a long illness.

Born Dec. 19, 1930, in Sioux Falls, S.D., he served in the Air Force for 20 years, served in Vietnam and retired in 1971 as a master sergeant. He then went to work for the Bellevue public school system where he retired in 1985.

Mr. Juber is survived by his wife, Shirley of Omaha, Neb.; children, Christina McLean and Laura Stirnitzke, both of Vacaville, Diana Berger, Bonnie Sanchez and Brian of Bellevue, Neb., Daryll of Lincoln, Neb., and Pamela Jacobsen of Harlan, Iowa; mother, Margaret of Norwalk; and numerous grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Araceli Jimenez Lomeli

Funeral services for Araceli Jimenez Lomeli, 2 months, of Vacaville will be 9:30 a.m. today in Vaca Hills Chapel. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Araceli died Aug. 6, 1999, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness. She was born June 19, 1999, in Fairfield.

Araceli is survived by her mother, Maria of Vacaville; father, Luis Jimenez of Mexico; sister, Lizett Jimenez of Vacaville; and grandparents, Araceli and Jesus of Vacaville, and Carmen Zepeda and Jose Uribe, both of Mexico.

Lee Thomas Pennington

Funeral services for Lee Thomas Pennington, 76, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

The Rev. Warren L. Dale of Wayside United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Pennington died Aug. 9, 1999, in his home after a long illness.

Born Aug. 8, 1923, in Cabot, Ark., he moved to the area seven years ago. He was self-employed in public relations with glass installation for 45 years.

Mr. Pennington enjoyed golf, horse racing and sports.

Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife, Margaret of Vacaville; daughters, Linda Celestre of Vacaville and Mary Craig of Benicia; son, Tom of Pleasant Hill; brothers, J.F. of Grandville, N.D., and Edwin of Concord; sister, Floy Wilburn of Cabot; and grandchildren, Mike Davis of Martinez, Thomas Celestre of Vacaville, Kevin, Ryan and Brandon Craig, all of Benicia, and Maggie of Pleasant Hill.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Memorial contributions can be made to Kaiser Vallejo Hospice.

Leonard Sequeira

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday for Leonard Joseph Sequeira, 78, of Dixon at St. Peter Catholic Church, 105 S. Second St., Dixon. Internment will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born April 10, 1921, in Penela Da Beira Alta, Portugal, Mr. Sequeira died Aug. 8, 1999, at the Courtyard Care Center in Davis.

Mr. Sequeira is survived by daughters, Patricia  White and Carol both of Dixon; son, Richard of Chico; sister, Marie Balshor of Sacramento; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Verna Aline Sequeira.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Carpenter Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers in Sacramento.
