Iva Ella Staats

A memorial service for Iva Ella Staats, 95, of Green Valley will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Community United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

The Rev. Dave Bunje will officiate. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Staats died on Aug. 1, 1999, at Laurel Creek Care Center.

Born on Sept 27, 1903, in Sacramento, she resided in Vallejo for 26 years before moving to Green Valley, where she lived for 32 years.

She was a merchant in Vallejo at Staats and Bell Furniture with her husband, Charles, who preceded her in death. She worked as a pink lady at Vallejo General Hospital, now known as Sutter Solano. She taught Sunday school at Vallejo and Stockton Methodist Church and was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mrs. Staats also was a member of the Women's Society of Vallejo, a founding member of Green Valley Country Club in Suisun City, and an avid artist and bridge player. She was a rock collector and a gemologist - she cut and polished stones which she used to design jewelry - and also worked with pottery.

Mrs. Staats is survived by her daughter, Lenore Sorenson of Suisun City; and son and daughter-in-law Charles Jr. and Jacqueline of Fairfield. She also has seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jamie Schannelle Williams

Funeral services for Jamie Schannelle Williams, 22, of Fairfield will be held 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Interment will be in Rockville Cemetery. Miss Williams died Aug. 5, 1999, in Oakland after a sudden illness.

Born Dec. 17, 1976, in  Oklahoma City, Okla., she lived in Fairfield for 12 years. She worked at La Mariposa Convalescent Hospital in Fairfield as a certified nursing assistant for the past two years. A graduate of Armijo High School, she attended Solano Community College.

Miss Williams is survived by her mother, Denise of Fairfield; father, James of  Oklahoma; sister, Veronica of Fairfield; brother, James of Fairfield; niece, Imani of Fairfield; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Jacqueline Lee Blount

A private funeral service will be held for Jacqueline Lee Blount, 61, of Fairfield.

Inurnment will be private.

Born May 1, 1938, in Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Blount died Aug. 11, 1999, at the David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base after a long illness.

She lived in Fairfield for six years. Prior to that, she lived in Vallejo and Benicia.

She was a homemaker for more than 22 years.

She is survived by her husband, Larry of Fairfield; daughters, Denise Sewell, Cindy Brenizer and Susan Cracraft, all from Vallejo; son, Daniel Fontaine of Vacaville; and five grandchildren.

Raymond L. George

Funeral services for Raymond L. George, 71, of Dixon will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

The Rev. Maurice O'Brien of St. Peter's Catholic Church will officiate.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Dec. 4, 1927, in Livermore, Mr. George died suddenly on Aug. 8, 1999, at his Dixon home.

He lived in Dixon for 10 years and worked for Borden's Dairy and as a gardener.

He loved cooking, gardening and traveling, especially to Reno.

He is survived by his sisters, Georgia Hightower of Dixon and Jody Andrade of Redding; brothers, John of Hickman and Scotty of Redding; and several nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Harold Lee Fair

Funeral services for Col. Harold Lee Fair, 78, of Vacaville were held Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel.

The Rev. Paul Fair of First Baptist Church officiated. Inurnment was private.

Mr. Fair died Aug. 9, 1999, in Vacaville after a brief illness.

Born June 4, 1921, in Navarre, Ohio, he lived in Solano County for 35 years. He retired after several years as a pilot from Travis Air Force Base.

Mr. Fair enjoyed flying and motorcycles.

Mr. Fair is survived by his wife, Doris of Vacaville; daughters, Diane Judd of Idaho and Debra of Lake Tahoe; sons, Paul of Vacaville, Jeff of Dixon and Harold of Lake Tahoe; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.

Gordon Charles Rodrigues

Funeral services for Gordon Charles Rodrigues, 63, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Pastor Keith Knauf will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Rodrigues died Aug. 10, 1999, in VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

Born on May 2, 1936, in Maui County, Hawaii, he moved to the area 12 years ago. He was employed by the Maui Correctional Facility for eight years as a correctional officer.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, playing the ukulele and was an avid handyman.

Mr. Rodrigues is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Vacaville; daughters, Lorna Frazelle of Vacaville and Noreen Malaqui, Darlene Felicilda and Cheryl-Ann Tilton, all of Hawaii; brothers, Theodore and Joseph, both of Hawaii; sisters, Ermel Kennedy of Arizona and Mary Lou Santos and Alice Texeira of Hawaii; and grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Chad, Gordon, Kalei, Justin, Kelly, Taryn, Ikaika and Hanalei.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Elvin and Anthony, and by his mother and father, Virginia and Manuel.

Robert William Coffey

A private service will be held for Robert William Coffey, 56, of Vacaville.

Mr. Coffey died Aug. 13, 1999, at his home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on April 2, 1943, in Karen's,  Texas, he moved to the area in 1966. He was an aircraft repair machinist at the Alameda Naval Air Station. He enjoyed wooden crafts.

Mr. Coffey is survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughters, Debbie and Gigi Matteson; grandchildren, Desiree, Alan Rush and Jamie and Megan Matteson; and great-granddaughter, Hanna Eichman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to North Bay Hospice in Vacaville.

Margaret Ann Bowans Luthy

Memorial services for Margaret Ann Bowans Luthy, 52, of Vallejo will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Stan Sanderson will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Luthy died Aug. 10, 1999, in Vallejo.

Born Jan. 7, 1947, she moved to the area 17 years ago, having lived in Fairfield for 14 years before moving to Vallejo.

She graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She was a self-employed weaver and fiber artist with a studio in Benicia. She was active in the Benicia arts community and belonged to a number of professional textile organizations.

Mrs. Luthy is survived by her sons, Christopher and Gregory, both of Fairfield; sister, Jean Chappell of Wichita, Kan.; and nieces, Michelle Ferrari of San Diego and Robin Frye of Council Grove, Kan. She also had two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Council, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Doreen Ann Morita

Funeral services for Doreen Ann Morita, 34, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery, and visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Ms. Morita died Aug. 12, 1999, at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield.

Born June 15, 1965, on Guam, she moved to Fairfield three years ago. Ms. Morita was a former cook in the Guam Civil Service for 16 years.

Ms. Morita is survived by her daughter, Shanae; sons, Shawn, Shane and Brandon; mother, Jesusa; sisters, Helen Leonguerrero of Arizona, Jean Blakeley-Umipig, Antonita Naples, Patricia Cayabyub of Hawaii, Norma Cochran of  Washington and Cindy of Guam; brothers, Joseph Cruz of  Texas, Joshua Edralin of Hawaii and George and Bobby of Fairfield.

Arrangements are handled by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Robert Andrew Olsen

Memorial services for Robert Andrew Olsen, 74, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Interment will be private.

Mr. Olsen died Aug. 12, 1999, after a lengthy illness.

Born on Aug. 24, 1924, in Pontiac, Ill., he moved to Vacaville four years ago. He worked as a sales manager for Castle Metals in Wisconsin for 40 years.

Mr. Olsen is survived by his sister, Virginia Olsen Kraus; a niece and her husband, Carla and Jim Tuyls; and nieces, Michelle Kraus and Danielle and Kristina Tuyls.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Society of Solano County, 817 Missouri Ave. No. 4, Fairfield, 94533.

Carmen Meza Sandoval

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carmen Meza Sandoval, 89, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. Sandoval died Aug. 11, 1999, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo.

Born on Dec. 1, 1909, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, she moved to the area 70 years ago. She was a homemaker for 70 years and an avid member of the Republican Party.

Mrs. Sandoval is survived by her husband, Luis; daughters, Helen Navaro of Pittsburg, Evangeline Walker and Marie Killen of  Washington and Cynthia Oliver of Fairfield; sons, Christopher Flores and Jess Flores of Vacaville, Joseph Flores of Napa and Abraham Flores and John Flores of California; 35 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
