Lorraine L. Kahale

Funeral services are pending in Hawaii for Lorraine L. Kahale, 28, of Honolulu. Interment will be at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Mrs. Kahale died Aug. 20, 1999, in San Mateo.

Born on Feb. 2, 1971, she lived in Fairfield before moving to Honolulu 10 years ago. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1989 and worked for the Print Shop in Fairfield while going to school. She also worked as a children's advocate for an abused families shelter at Pearl Harbor.

She was a member of St. Philomenas Catholic Church in Hawaii and a volunteer at her local elementary school.

Mrs. Kahale is survived by her husband, David of Honolulu; parents, James and Elizabeth Bender of Niangua, Mo.; daughters, Shellee and Kylee of Hawaii; son, Bradley of Hawaii; sisters, Dacia and her husband, Donald Dinwiddie, of Niangua, Mo., and Julie and her husband, Sheldon Winkfield, of Suisun City; and brothers, James Jr. and Ronald, both of Niangua, Mo.

Shana Northern

Funeral services for Shana Northern, 18, of Suisun will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

The Rev. Keith Williams and Pastor Kenneth Martin will officiate. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private.

Ms. Northern died in a car accident Aug. 20, 1999.

Born on Aug. 21, 1980, in Staten Island, N.Y., she moved to Suisun 12 years ago. She graduated from Armijo High School in 1998 and worked on the school newspaper. She enjoyed singing, animals, and was an avid swimmer. She worked as a volunteer at the Solano homeless center and was a member of the Macedonia Church in Suisun.

Ms. Northern is survived by her parents, Melvin Sr. and LaVerne of Suisun; grandmother, Martha of  Washington, N.C.; sister, Eneisha Denise; brothers, Melvin Gary Jr. and Derrick Lorenzo; and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Macedonia Church Youth Choir, 84 Marina Center, Suisun, 94585.

Alonzo C. Collins Jr.

Funeral services for Alonzo C. Collins Jr., 81, of Vallejo will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Skyview Memorial Chapel in Vallejo. Pastor Judith  Jones of First Christian Church of Vallejo will officiate. Burial will be at Skyview Memorial Lawn.

Born Oct. 2, 1917, in Marietta, Okla., Mr. Collins died Aug. 21, 1999, in Vallejo.

A resident of Marietta for 21 years, Mr. Collins lived in Vallejo for 60 years. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 32 years, first as a carpenter then as a structural engineer. He retired in 1973.

Mr. Collins served in the Army. He built six homes in Vallejo, including his own. He also delivered Meals on Wheels to the homebound. Mr. Collins was a member of the First Christian Church and was a former deacon there. He was a member of the BPOE No. 559, Carpenters' Union No. 180, Vallejo Trailer Club, Sunny Side Folk Dancers, NARFE and the Vallejo Golf Club.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife of 59 years, Effie "Bessie" Lorean Collins of Vallejo; son, Jerry W. of Vallejo; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald C. and Gina of Rescue; sister, Glennis Crate of Vallejo; grandchildren, Chad of Boise, Idaho, David of Vacaville, and Jeffrey and Jason of Rescue.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Skyview Memorial Chapel.

Dorothy May Haugh

Memorial services for Dorothy May Haugh, 74, of Vacaville will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Pastor John Moser will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Haugh died Aug. 4, 1999, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo after a long illness.

Born on May 17, 1925, in Philadelphia, she moved to Vacaville 41 years ago.

Mrs. Haugh had been employed by Southern Pacific Railroad for eight years, where she was a keypunch operator.

Mrs. Haugh is survived by her husband, George W. of Vacaville.

Dolores June Lee

Funeral services for Dolores June Lee, 63, of Eagle Lake, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Nadeau Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Lee died on Aug. 19, 1999, in Mercy Medical Center, Redding, after a short illness.

Born April 11, 1936, in  Oklahoma City, Okla. She was raised in Napa, where she attended St. John's Elementary School and St. Vincent's High School in Vallejo. She worked for Posey Gardens Florist in San Jose, where she was a designer for six years. She was the manager for 10 years at K.C. & Sons Heavy Equipment Rental Yard in Pioneer and a deputy sheriff with Douglas County. She worked in the Sheriff's Department in Nevada for five years, she managed Bear River Resort for 14 years and Eagle Lake Resort the past three years. She was an accomplished pilot the past 31 years and had been the director of Eagle Lake Community Service District. She was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department/Eagle Lake and had most recently completed and attained her EMT rating.

Mrs. Lee is survived by her husband of 31 years, Howard of Eagle Lake; mother, Bonnie Franks of Palm Springs; daughter, Deborah of Merced; sons, Steve Evanson of South Lake Tahoe and Charles of Newark; brother, Windell Franks of Pioneer; sister, Pat Carroll of Vacaville and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Nadeau Family Funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale Ave., Vacaville, 95688.

Shirley E. Marvick

A memorial service for Shirley E. Marvick, 59, of Vacaville will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pena Adobe Park No. 1. The Rev. James Callaway of First Baptist Church of Pacific Grove will officiate. Inurnment was private.

Born Oct. 25, 1939, in Walla Walla, Wash., Mrs. Marvick died Aug. 10, 1999, in Vacaville.

A Vacaville and Solano County resident for 15 years, Mrs. Marvick lived in Pinole for 25 years before moving to Vacaville. She worked for the Travis Unified School District in the food services department, and was a member of the Sacramento Jazz Society and the San Joaquin Jazz Society. She was a former member of the Lady Elks. Mrs. Marvick enjoyed sewing, cooking with her husband, traveling and music.

Mrs. Marvick is survived by her husband, Barry D. of Vacaville; son, Michael of Vacaville; mother, Martha Esters of Walla Walla; brother, Roger Esters of Abilene, Kansas; sisters, Betty McFarland of Whidbey Island, Wash., Cory Peterson of Walla Walla; grandchildren, Andrew and Brandi, both of Vacaville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale Road, Vacaville, 95688.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Lorraine A. Stewart

Funeral services were held for Lorraine A. Stewart, 83, of Yuba City on Aug. 18 at Sierra View Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs Stewart died on Aug. 11 at Fremont Medical Center

Born in South Dakota, she had been a Yuba-Sutter resident since 1978.

She was a retired restaurant owner and a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Marysville. She was also a member of the Linda Olivehurst Civic Association for Seniors.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her sons, Allen of Olivehurst, Donald of Vacaville, Robert of San Jose and David of Napa; daughters, Doris M. Yonning of Mount Shasta and Olive J. Hyker of Safety Harbor, Fla.; sisters, Donna Ward, June Dennison and Ann Smith, all of Oregon; brother, Lloyd Petersen of Oregon; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Don Holland

Funeral services for Kenneth Don Holland, 60, of Vacaville will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Englunds Inc. Funeral Home in Slaton,  Texas. Burial will be at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.

Born Feb. 26, 1939, in Fredericksburg,  Texas, Mr. Holland died Aug. 21, 1999, in Sacramento.

A Solano County resident for 14 years, Mr. Holland worked as a mechanic for Jerricos Auto/Electric for 40 years. He was an avid mechanic and loved drag racing.

Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Dean of Vacaville; son, Jim of Floydada,  Texas; daughter, Sherri Walker of Slaton; sisters, Diantha Roberts and Brenda Slauson of Cleburne,  Texas and Lorraine Pritchard of Mansfield,  Texas; brothers, Hobart of Slaton, Ev of Salt Lake City and Les of Levelland,  Texas; grandchildren, Aaron, Dustin, Kyler and Miranda.

Arrangements are under the direction of Vaca Hills Chapel.

Major Dezelle Quinney Jr.

Funeral services for Major Dezelle Quinney Jr., 19, of Suisun City will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Vacaville. Pastor Leroy Ganey will officiate.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fairfield Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond.

Mr. Quinney died Aug. 20, 1999, at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento.

Born on Aug. 18, 1980, in San Leandro, he lived in Suisun City for five years. He was a technician at Jiffy Lube and played basketball for Fairfield and Vacaville high schools. He graduated from Fairfield High School in June.

Mr. Quinney is survived by his mother, Beverly of Suisun City; father, Major of Oakland; grandmother, Ocic Niblett of Vacaville; sisters, Raquisha and Qumeka, both of Suisun City; and brothers, Quincey and Charles McGee, both of Suisun City.

Leonard L. Rosenstrauch

Memorial services for Leonard L. Rosenstrauch, 72, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Friday in Vaca Hills Chapel. Pastor Lester Seto will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Rosenstrauch died Aug. 20, 1999, in his home in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on July 12, 1927, in Berkeley, he moved to the area 20 years ago. He worked as a retail grocery clerk for 29 years with Northern Retail Clerks. He was a member of Masons in El Cerrito from 1964 to 1998 and a member of the Green Tree Senior Golf Club and SIRS, a retired senior group. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Rosenstrauch is survived by his wife, Ann of Vacaville; daughter, Sharon Stathem of Redding; son, David of Santa Ynez; sisters, Lois Sauders of Nevada City, Shirley Willis of San Leandro, and Nellie Bethards of Boise, Idaho; and grandchildren, Brett, Derek and Daryl.

Memorial contributions can be made to NorthBay Hospice.

Rita Kinzell Swift

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita Kinzell Swift, 45, of Mulino, Ore., will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate.

Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. Swift died Aug. 21, 1999, in Mulino.

Born on July 24, 1954, in Duarte, she lived in Mulino for one year. She attended Fairfield High School and Solano and Riverside community colleges. She was a reserve officer for the city of San Bernardino and worked as a deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. She enjoyed making floral arrangements, gardening and traveling.

Mrs. Swift is survived by her husband, Daniel of Mulino; daughter, Kimberly Persall of Hemet; and father, Lloyd O'Donnell of Hemet.

Ruby P. Anderson

A graveside service for Ruby P. Anderson, 94, of Clearlake will be 10 a.m. Monday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. The Rev. Dale Rogers will officiate. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

A reception will be held following the service at the Fairfield Eagles Aerie No. 4113 in Suisun . Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. Anderson died Aug. 23, 1999, at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Born on Feb. 19, 1905, in Joplin, Mo., she lived in Fairfield for 60 years before moving to Clearlake, where she resided for 14 years. She was a homemaker for more than 76 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 550 in Vallejo and did extensive volunteer work for the organization. Mrs. Anderson also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Clearlake and Aerie No. 4075. She enjoyed needle crafts.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughters, Vina Slagle of Lake Berryessa and Ethel David of Walnut Creek; sons, Andrew of Loomis, Robert of Vacaville, Richard and Donald, both of Clearlake, and Paul of Fairfield; 52 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; daughters, Nellie Ayers, Ruby Moak and Irene; and sons, Neil, Bert and Charles.

Opal LaVonne Murden

There will be no services for Opal LaVonne Murden, 71, of Suisun City. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Murden died on Aug. 24, 1999, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born on Oct. 20, 1927, in Fort Collins,  Colo., she moved to the area four years ago. She worked as a food service clerk for Woolworth's for 13 years.

Mrs. Murden is survived by her daughter, Christine Long of Vacaville; son, Walter of Suisun City; brother, George Eisal of Antioch; and grandchildren, Matthew and Victoria Long of Vacaville.

Arrangements are being handled by Vaca Hills Chapel.
