Fred D. Allen

Visitation for Mr. Fred D. Allen, 78, of Fairfield, will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The Revs. Mike McCamey and Bill Burkey of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield will officiate.

There will be a private entombment at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Born June 29, 1921, in Clairton, Pa., Mr. Allen died Nov. 27, 1999, at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He later worked in the civil service at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo where he retired as a supervisor in 1982.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed oil painting. He belonged to the First Baptist Church in Fairfield; He also was a member of the Suisun Lodge No. 55, F.& A.M. and the VFW in Antioch.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane, of Fairfield; sons, Fred of Modesto and Jim of Long Beach; father, James Allen of  Pennsylvania; sisters, Marian Mitchell, Elizabeth and Kathy Evans and Ester of  Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Alicia and David of Modesto.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara; mother, Nora and brother, Eugene.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Parkinson Association, 116 John St., New York, N.Y. 10038, or to Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, 2701 Cottage Way #26, Sacramento, 95825.

Olivia G. Alvarado

Funeral services for Mrs. Olivia G. Alvarado, 82, of Dixon, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Catholic Church.

The Rev. Maurice O'Brien will officiate.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today and a rosary will be held tonight at 7 in the Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Silveyville Cemetery.

Born March 2, 1917, in Sanderson,  Texas, Mrs. Alvarado died Nov. 25, 1999, in Sacramento.

She lived in Dixon for 39 years.

She worked for 26 years as a migrant education teacher's assistant for the Silveyville School.

She belonged to the YLI of Dixon and the Comite Mexicano de Beneficia of Dixon.

She helped start Toys for Tots 25 years ago and was elected woman of the year in 1997 for her community service in Dixon.

She is survived by her daughter, Olga of Sacramento; granddaughter, Melba Salinas of Sacramento; great-grandsons, Rudy and Victor Salinas Ruiz of Sacramento; brother, Laurencio Gutierrez of  Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo.

May Boles

A private memorial service will be held for May Boles, 83, of Vacaville.

Born in Tillamook, Ore., in 1916, Mrs. Boles died Oct. 39, 1999, in Winsor House after a long illness.

She married Lester "Curley" in January, 1939, in Placerville.

She moved to Vacaville in 1942.

She was proceeded in death by her husband in 1998. She is survived by her sons, Gordon of Sacramento and Rodney of Vacaville, and five grandchildren.

Per her instructions, Mrs. Boles willed her body for research to the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine.

Gurville McNairy

Visitation for Mrs. Gurville McNairy, 90, of Fairfield, will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Fairfield Funeral Home.

The Rev. Robert Sanford will officiate.

Mrs. McNairy will be entombed at the Tulocay Cemetery in Napa.

Born Sept. 9, 1909, in Flora, Ore., Mrs. McNairy died Nov. 27, 1999, in Vacaville after a short illness.

She worked as a self-employed beautician for 25 years.

She loved fishing, camping and working in her flower garden. She belonged to the Wednesday Afternoon Club at the Fairfield Senior Center.

She once owned the YN Tavern and the Dutch & Gurville Bar in Vallejo.

She is survived by her longtime friends, James and Sao Herb of Vacaville.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Wednesday Afternoon Club, c/o Betty German at the Fairfield Senior Center, 1200 Civic Center Drive, Fairfield.

Rodolfo 'Rudy' Trajano

A mass of Christian burial for Rodolfo "Rudy" Trajano, 57, of Vacaville will be said 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Marys Catholic Church.

The Rev. Benedict DeLeon of St. Marys Church will officiate.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today in the Vaca Hills Chapel.

There will be a rosary for Mr. Trajano tonight at 7 in the Vaca Hills Chapel.

Mr. Trajano will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.

Born July 6, 1942, in the Phillipines, Mr. Trajano died Nov. 22, 19999, in Vacaville from injuries suffered in a vehicle accident.

He moved to the area nine years ago.

Mr. Trajano worked as a correctional officer at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville.

He was a member of the Santo Nino Group Society. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing and travelling.

He is survived by his wife, Jazmin of Vacaville; children, Jeannette, Elizabeth, Katherine, Reynee and Andre of Vacaville; step-children, Jenniffer, Joseph and Jessie Ecleo; mother, Joseja of Canada; brother and sister Teynaldo and Alannah Vahlerio of Canada; grandchildren, Jada and Ivan Rodolpho Rivera and Camille of Vacaville; and his first wife, Racquel Callorina.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Santo Nino Group or the Fatima Group, c/o St. Marys Church, 350 Stinson Ave., Vacaville, 95688.

Bernice May Boles

A private memorial service will be held for Bernice May Boles, 83, of Vacaville.

Born in Tillamook, Ore., in 1916, Mrs. Boles died Oct. 30, 1999, in Winsor House after a long illness.

She married Lester "Curley" in January 1939, in Placerville and moved to Vacaville in 1942. She was proceeded in death by her husband in 1998.

She is survived by her sons, Gordon of Sacramento and Rodney of Vacaville, and five grandchildren.

Per her instructions, Mrs. Boles willed her body for research to the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine.

Thomas Francis Hodgson

A funeral for Thomas Francis Hodgson, 40, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Friday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. The Rev. Maurice O'Brien will officiate. Burial will be at Silveyville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Mr. Hodgson died on Nov. 27, 1999, in Sacramento.

Born on Jan. 13, 1959, in Topeka, Kan., he lived in Dixon for the past six years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years before working in civil service for another five years. He enjoyed and was very dedicated to serving his country. He was a member of the American Legion in Dixon.

Mr. Hodgson is survived by his wife, Mila T. of Dixon; brother and sisters, John M. Jr., William, Timothy E., Dennis L., Donna M. Calone, and Catherine A. Verstraete, all of Lakewood,  Colo.; and parents, John M. and Wilma J. of Lowell, Mass.

Antonia 'Mary' Neade

A funeral for Antonia "Mary" Neade, 69, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel. Burial will follow in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the McCune Garden Chapel.

Born May 9, 1930, in San Francisco, Mrs. Neade died Nov. 29, 1999, after a long illness.

She was a homemaker for 50 years and enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband in their motor home. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Vacaville; son, Robert Jr. of Vacaville; daughters, Debra Azevedo of Vacaville, Donna Looper of Vacaville and Sandra Bundock of Elk Grove; sisters, Annie Vicochea and Connie Harlan, both of Vacaville; brother, Joe Ariza of Vacaville; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Kaiser Permanente, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, 94590.

Joseph Stanley Smith

A memorial service for Joseph Stanley Smith, 18, of Fairfield will be 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Church of Christ in Fairfield. Stan Sanderson will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Smith died on Nov. 27, 1999, in an auto accident in Applegate.

Born on June 9, 1981, in Bountiful, Utah, he lived in Fairfield for the past nine years. He was a senior at Fairfield High School and attended Dover Middle School. He had worked at Target Stores in Fairfield for one year. In his early youth, he played soccer and baseball. He loved snowboarding and being with his friends. He also enjoyed working on his car.

Mr. Smith is survived by his mother and stepfather, Wendy and Mark Brown of Fairfield; father and stepmother, Joseph and Azy of Sparks, Nev.; grandparents, Dennis and Barbara Dall of Sparks, Nev., and Joseph and Jerry of Bountiful; and sisters, Amber K., Angela L. and Nicole E. Brown, all of Fairfield.

Lois Collins

Private services will be held for Lois Collins, 86, of Vacaville. Burial will be in the Silveyville Cemetery.

Mrs. Collins died Nov. 29, 1999, in Vacaville following a brief illness.

Born July 7, 1913, in Vacaville, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Collins was the school nurse at Willis Jepson School and was also a nurse at Travis Air Force Base and for Basic Vegetable. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, gardening and working with several local charities including the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her son, Jan Ward of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Yoriko Kishimoto Collins of Palo Alto; grandchildren, Maya and Sarah, both of Palo Alto, Jason Ward of Santa Rosa and Michael Dorris of Sutter Creek; and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VacaValley Hospital, 1000 Nut Tree Road, or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 21-4477, Sacramento, 95821-0477.

Arrangements are by McCune Garden Chapel.
