Harrell W. Thomas

No formal funeral is planned for Harrell W. Thomas, 67, of Vacaville. Interment will be private.

Mr. Thomas died Dec. 2, 1999, in VacaValley Hospital after a brief illness.

Born June 23, 1932, in Melrose, Kan., he had lived in Vacaville for two years.

In his working years, he was employed by the Joplin Stock Yard in Joplin, Mo., where he was a maintenance man. He formerly resided in Joplin for 60 years.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Nellie of Ivans, Utah; a son, Michael of Vacaville; daughters, Sherry Person, Lori Palocious, Rebecca and Vicki, all of Vacaville; sister, Maxine George of Joplin; and eight grandchildren.

Betty Jane Schneider

At her request, no services will be held for Betty Jane Schneider, 65, of Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Schneider died Dec. 1, 1999, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo following a long illness.

Born Jan. 23, 1934, in Helena, Mont., she had lived in the area for two years.

Mrs. Schneider worked as a school bus driver for Napa Unified School District for 27 years.

She is survived by her in-laws, Donald Scroyer of Napa and Carl and Eileen Burkett of Vacaville; and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her son, David.

Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Della Nunez

A mass of Christian Burial for Della Nunez, 65, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Church. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 28, 1933, in Walsanburg,  Colo., Mrs. Nunez died Dec. 2, 1999, in Fairfield.

She lived in Fairfield for 42 years and was active in the Parent Teacher Association at Anna Kyle Elementary School throughout the 1960s. She supported Fairfield High's Scarlet Brigade Band during the late 1960s and 1970s.

Mrs. Nunez is survived by her husband of 48 years, George of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathryn and Ed Pereira, Mary Margaret Haggett, Betty-Jo and Ricardo Ortiz and Susan and Jesse Gonzales; sons and daughter-in-laws, George and Maria and Ronald and Gloria; grandchildren, Eduardo Gonzales, Ricardo Ortiz Jr., Rosalinda, Alexandra, Cristofer Ortiz, Ronald, Jennifer, Theresa Gonzales, Victoria Ortiz, Edward Pereira Jr., Melinda, Jose de Jesus Gonzales Jr., Jeffrey Haggett, Lucia Pereira, Michelle, Olivia Pereira and Serina; great-grandchildren, Adrianna R. Pichardo, Illeana Pichardo, Cecilia Pichardo, Larrye  Taylor and Meirella Pichardo; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Fairfield.

Alisha Ann Rozadilla

Funeral services for Alisha Ann Rozadilla, 25, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Pastor Lloyd Bunton of the Fellowship Baptist Church will officiate. Internment will follow in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Born on Jan. 12, 1974, in Sacramento, Ms. Rozadilla died on Dec. 3, 1999, in Vacaville from injuries sustained in a car accident.

She is survived by her son, Eric Facteau of Vacaville; mother, Patricia Garza of Vacaville; brother, Michael Anthony Rozadilla of Dixon; and grandparents, Severo and Aurora Oliverez of Vacaville.

Robert N. Pryor

A Mass of Christian burial for Robert N. Pryor, 75, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield.

Mr. Pryor died Dec. 3, 1999, at the Sunbridge Care Center in Fairfield following a long illness.

Born March 7, 1924, in Vallejo, Mr. Pryor served with the U.S. Navy in World War II and worked as an electrician for 45 years, serving as electrical superintendent for Collins Electric for 34 years until retiring in 1989. Mr. Pryor was a member of the electrical union, and the BPOE Elks, Vallejo lodge.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Tom Terrell of Suisun, and Jeanne and Steve Hanley of Fairfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Linda of Vacaville; brother, Mike; grandchildren, Jim and JoAnne Terrell of Suisun, Nick and Eric Hanley of Fairfield, and Lauren and Andrew of Vacaville; longtime companion, Harriet Hultquist of Vacaville; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Pryor was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, in 1979 and his brother Jack in 1983.

A visitation is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, including a vigil at 7 p.m., at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Sarah F. Sweeny

Graveside funeral services for Sarah F. Sweeny, 66, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

The service will be conducted by Mrs. Sweeny's family.

Mrs. Sweeny died Dec. 2, 1999, in Fairfield following a long illness.

Born April 7, 1933, in Birmingham, Ala., she graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma, Wash., and later attained an associate's degree after studying at several schools.

Mrs. Sweeny, a 30-year-resident of Fairfield, worked as a certified nursing assistant for the Kaiser Permanente hospice department in Vallejo for 25 years.

She is survived by her son, Clyde; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel.

Arthur Chronister

Graveside services for Arthur Chronister, 97, of Dixon will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Silveyville Cemetery.

Pastor John Littau of Christ Community Church will officiate.

Born Nov. 4, 1920, in Hartford, Ariz., Mr. Chronister died Dec. 3, 1999, in Vacaville.

A Dixon resident for 19 years, Mr. Chronister was educated in the  Oklahoma Territory before it became a state in 1907. He traveled throughout the United States before marrying his wife, Velmaz, in 1953. They settled in the area of North Hollywood before moving to Dixon in 1982 to be closer to his niece. They lived there until his wife's death in 1989. He loved being able to share the lives of his family and friends, who gave him great happiness during his last years.

Mr. Chronister worked as a rock quarry mechanic for 15 years and attended Baptist church in Heavener, Okla.

Mr. Chronister is survived by his daughter, Maudeen Szabo of Oregon; granddaughters, Carol Agnew of Massachusetts, Dena Szabo of Oregon; stepbrother, Hugh Park of Arizona; stepsister, Opal Bunton of Arizona; sister-in-law, Francis Chronister of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Chapter, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Doris Bryde Fincher

A private funeral will be held for Doris Bryde Fincher, 79, of Vacaville.

Inurnment will be private.

Born April 12, 1920, in Toronto, Mrs. Fincher died Dec. 3, 1999, in Vacaville.

An election clerk with Solano County, Mrs. Fincher served as a British war clerk in London during World War II.

She was a member of the Leisure Town Aqua Belles and loved to travel.

Mrs. Fincher is survived by her husband of 40 years, Harry Fincher of Vacaville; son, John E. Fincher of Batavia, Ill.; daughter, Barbara Maselli of Visalia; stepbrother, Edward Morgan Jr. of Canada; stepsisters, Coral Bowen, Corrine Kirst and Barbara Mason, all of Canada; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Addis Woodrow Coats

A funeral for Addis Woodrow Coats, 79, of Vacaville will be 12:30 p.m. today at Fairfield Church of Christ.

Curtis Coats Jr. of Benicia will officiate.

Inurnment will be private.

Born Dec. 20, 1919, in Marshall,  Texas, Mr. Coats died Dec. 4, 1999, in Vacaville.

Mr. Coats lived in Vacaville for 26 years and retired from Santa Fe Railway after 38 years. A former resident of San Francisco and Berkeley, he was a member of Fairfield Church of Christ.

Mr. Coats is survived by his wife, Phenia of Vacaville; daughters, Gloria J. Hearne of Dallas, Ada M. Gistar of Lancaster, Doris J. Grabski of Sacramento and Lydia L. Patania of Woodland; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to any charity for abused children.

Zelma C. Nielsen

A funeral for Zelma C. Nielsen, 82, of Vacaville will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Pastor Catharine Morris of United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Jan. 7, 1917, in Dixon, Mrs. Nielsen died Dec. 2, 1999, in Vacaville.

Mrs. Nielsen was a homemaker for 66 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Francis Kathey Nielsen of Dixon; daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Dennis Cable of Suisun City, Lola and Bill Hane of Incline Village, Nev., and Iralene and Greg of Dixon; sister, Betty Sorensen of Elko, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans; and grandson, David Cable.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home, 569 N. First St.

Reynaldo A. Altares

Funeral services for Reynaldo A. Altares, 56, of Fairfield will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Memorial park.

Mr. Altares died Dec. 6, 1999, in David Grant Medical Center after a long illness.

Born Dec. 23, 1942, in Zambalez Province, Philippine Islands, he resided in Fairfield for 13 years.

He served in the United States Navy in the grade of chief boatswain mate, serving 22 years before retiring in 1987.

He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in civil service for eight years.

He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield and the Northern California Palawig Association.

Mr. Altares enjoyed horse racing.

Mr. Altares is survived by his wife Edna of Suisun; daughter and son-in-law, Rowela and Cesar Gelera; daughter, Rosanna of Suisun; and sons, Reynaldo Jr. of New York City, N.Y., and Richard of Suisun.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today and Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

A vigil also will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
