Raymond P. Leighton

There will be private services for Raymond P. Leighton, 75, of Sacramento at the family's request. Inurnment will be private.

Mr. Leighton died Jan. 1, 2000, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Sacramento after a sudden illness.

Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Burnley, England, he resided in Vacaville for 27 years before moving to Sacramento 3 years ago. He was a World War II veteran with the Merchant Marine. He worked as a correctional officer with California Medical Facility from 1957 to 1984. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge.

Mr. Leighton enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and traveling.

Mr. Leighton is survived by his wife, Connie of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Ali Zaben of Sacramento; daughter, Jan of Sacramento; sons, Mike, Scott and Kelly, all of Vacaville; stepson, Paul Champion of Vacaville; sister, Eileen Lawrenson of England; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by the Neptune Society of Sacramento.

Anne Macey

No services are planned for Anne Macey, 82, of Fairfield. Her ashes will be scattered at sea.

Born on March 22, 1917, in Benton Harbor, Mich., Ms. Macey died Dec. 29, 1999, at David Grant Medical Center after a short illness.

She was a family services administrator in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years. She retired at Travis Air Force Base.

Ms. Macey is survived by her adopted family, Phil and Irma D'Andrea of Glendale, Az.

Russell Floyd Rhodes

A memorial service for Russell Floyd Rhodes, 92, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Community Presbyterian Church.

Pastor Clair Denman (Ret.) of Community Presbyterian Church will officiate. Inurnment will be private in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Rhodes died Jan. 1, 2000, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.

Born April 17, 1907, in Hardenville, Wis., he moved to the area 27 years ago. He was a retired electrician engineer for Westinghouse after 43 years. He was a 50-year member of the Philadelphia Lodge F&AM, 32nd Degree Mason and Order of Eastern Star.

Mr. Rhodes is survived by his wife, Sally of Vacaville, sons, Charles Russell of Pleasant Hill, Melvin Dale of Dublin and Rick Hellengass of St. Paul, Minn.; daughter, Sally Jane Olson of St. Paul; sister, Doris Kapelka of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements were made by Vaca Hills Chapel.

Wayne Leslie Swanson

A memorial service for Wayne Leslie Swanson, 81, of Santa Clara, will be held 10:30 a.m. today in McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

Private inurnment and burial will follow at a later date in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Oct. 13, 1918, in Fullerton, Neb., he died Dec. 30, 1999, in Los Altos after a short illness. He previously lived in Vacaville from 1960-1989.

Mr. Swanson was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel with 20 years of service and had worked at the California Medical Facility, Vacaville and as a civil service supply officer at Travis Air Force Base.

He had been a member of Vacaville's First Presbyterian Church and a past member of Moose Lodge No. 134.

Mr. Swanson is survived by his wife, Sophia; son, Douglas of Olympia, Wash.; daughters, Gail Harrison of Napa and Jean Rey of Lake Tahoe; his wife's sons, Henry Cuenca of Stockton, Raymong Cuenca of Redding and Robert Cuenca of Santa Clara; his wife's daughter, Olga Walker of Santa Rosa; brother, Max of Belgrade, Neb.; sister, Alberta Arrasmith of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, 95812.

Lois J. Winslow

A memorial service for Lois J. Winslow, 79, of Fairfield will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Community United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Dave Bunjie will officiate. Inurnment will be private in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Winslow died Jan. 2, 2000, in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 3, 1920, in Edgewood, Iowa, she resided in Fairfield for 55 years. She was a homemaker for 55 years. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Fairfield. She loved family functions.

Mrs. Winslow is survived by her husband, Harold Sr. of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Arline and Glenn Lambright of London, England, and Jean and Pat Nesler of Fairfield; daughter, Leslie Kay of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Kathleen of Fairfield; son, Harold Jr. and fiancee Debbie Crandall of Fairfield; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Bud Grice of Sun Valley, Idaho; sister, Evelyn Horn of Tempe, Ariz.; brother and sister-in-law, Crayden and Penny Jones of Prescott, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Arrangements were made by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

John Andrew Dixon

A funeral with full military honors for John Andrew Dixon, 60, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Friday in Chapel 1, Travis Air Force Base.

Pastor Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Mr. Dixon died Jan. 2, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Vallejo, after an illness.

Born Sept. 23, 1939, in New Bern, N.C., he resided in Fairfield since 1973. He was a medic with the United States Air Force for 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force he was a technical sergeant and worked as a postal carrier for 13 years in Vallejo. He was a veteran of Vietnam and Korea.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Minnie of Fairfield; daughter, Lisa Wilson of Fairfield; son, John Webber of Union City; sisters, Valderia Brown, Dolly Godette and Alicefaye Coaliz, all of North Carolina, Maxine Tripp of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Leroy Leamon and George Tripp, both of North Carolina; five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Fairfield Funeral Home.

Bob Shellhammer

A Mass will be held for Bob Shellhammer, 84, of Dixon, at 11 a.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Dixon.

The Rev. John Boll of Woodland will preside. Interment will be in Silveyville Cemetery.

Mr. Shellhammer died Jan. 2, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born July 7, 1915, in Woodland, he resided in Dixon for 72 years. He was self-employed as a beet harvester for 30 years. He was a volunteer for the Dixon Fire Department, lifetime member of Solano County Firemans Association, lifetime member of California State Firemans Association, member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and member of Killkenny hunting ranch.

Mr. Shellhammer enjoyed deer hunting and working at Killkenny Ranch.

Mr. Shellhammer is survived by a brother, Thomas Shellhammer of Sacramento, and extended family, Yvonne, Ray, Michael, Kendra, Jill and Amy Mcluskey, all of Dixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dixon Volunteer Fire Department, 205 Ford Way, Dixon, 95620 or St. Peter's Catholic Church, 105 S. Second St., Dixon, 95620.

Mary Evelyn Tveitmoe

Memorial services for Mary Evelyn Tveitmoe, 74, of Dixon will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Dixon Community Church.

Pastor Wes Nordman will officiate. Inurnment will be private in Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Tveitmoe died Dec. 31, 1999, in Davis after a long illness.

Born March 1, 1925, in Jonben, W.Va., she lived in Dixon 13 years. She worked as a self-employed beautician, retiring after 20 years. She was a member of Dixon Community Church, Dixon Ladies Aid and Dixon Senior Center Club.

Mrs. Tveitmoe enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, gardening and cards with friends.

Mrs. Tveitmoe is survived by her daughter, Brenda Stone of Bay Point; brother, Rix Dillon of West Virginia; granddaughters, Julia Broyles of Sacramento and Joy Gray of Antioch; grandson, Kevin Broyles of San Jose; great-grandson, Jason Broyles of San Jose; close friend, Bob McCord of Dixon.

Memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity or American Cancer Society, 1652 W. Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield, 94533.

Iona W. Wells

Services will be private for Iona W. Wells, 78, of Fairfield. Inurnment will be private at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mrs. Wells died Jan. 1, 2000, in Sunbridge La Mariposa Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield, after a long illness.

Born March 28, 1921, in Oklahoma, she lived in Fairfield for five years. She was a homemaker for 55 years.

Mrs. Wells enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a seamstress and enjoyed painting.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and George Gollinger of Fairfield and Lori and Art Davis of Talent, Ore.; son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Diane Wells of Marysville; sisters, Opal Davis of Kennewick, Wash., and Gale Jones of Waco, Texas; brother, Kenneth White of Mission, Texas; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell in 1994 and a daughter, Karen in 1982.

Arrangements were made by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Chester W. Willis

A funeral for Chester W. Willis, 87, of Fairfield will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Bishop Robert Parini will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, Okla.

Mr. Willis died Jan. 2, 2000, in Kaiser Permanente Medical Center after a short illness.

Born May 5, 1912, in Olinger, Mo., he resided in Fairfield for 55 years. He was an owner and operator of Willis Trucking Co. for more than 60 years. He also worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fairfield, past member of the Grass Valley Elks Club.

Mr. Willis enjoyed fishing, square dancing and traveling.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Zelma of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Janie Nicols of Fair Oaks; grandchildren, Charles Nicols Jr., of Fair Oaks and LeAnn Porter of Sacramento; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Frances A. Wink

Memorial services for Frances A. Wink, 72, of Fairfield will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in St. Mark's Lutheran Church. There will be a private burial at sea.

Mrs. Wink died Dec. 30, 1999, in her home after an illness.

Born July 23, 1927, in Winfield, Kan., she lived in Fairfield for 36 years. She worked as a teacher with the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District for 30 years. She mostly taught at Cleo Gordon Elementary. She was an active volunteer of NorthBay Hospital Guild, Kaiser Permanente in Fairfield, a member of the Save Our Senior program at Fairfield Senior Center, member of TOPS, Women of the Moose and Fairfield Chapter of the Northern California Epilepsy Support Group.

Mrs. Wink is survived by her daughter and lifelong partner, Kyra Wink and Nancy Sullivan of Vacaville; nephews, Ron Allen and his wife, Debbie of Vacaville, Kirk Allen and his wife, Robin of Benicia; brother-in-law, Dean Allen of Grants Pass, Ore.; sister-in-law, Helen Lang of Cordelia; cousins, Peggy Upton of Harrison, Ark., and Roy and Josephine White of Berryville, Ark.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Epilepsy Society, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are being handled by Fairfield Funeral Home.

Georgia B. Bauer

Memorial services for Georgia B. Bauer, 52, of Fairfield will be held at noon Friday in St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Pastor Todd Bertani will officiate. Interment will be private in Rockville Cemetery.

Mrs. Bauer died Jan. 4, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

Born Dec. 5, 1947, in San Francisco, she lived in Fairfield for six years. Prior to that she lived in Poway for 10 years. She graduated from University of Pacific, Stockton with a bachelor's degree in speech pathology and a master's degree from San Diego State University. She worked as a speech pathologist for Cajon Valley School District at El Cajon. She also worked at Children's Hospital in San Diego for eight years and Fairfield School District for two years. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and was extremely active in Girl Scout activities. Mrs. Bauer enjoyed the outdoors, camping, scuba diving and quilting.

Mrs. Bauer is survived by her husband, Gary of Fairfield; daughters, Janell of San Ramon and Kelsey of Fairfield; brother and sister-in-law, William and Clara Blair Jr. of Napa; and mother, Jane Blair of Burlingame.
