Georgana Hope McCarthy

A memorial service for Georgana Hope McCarthy, 82, of Dixon will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dixon Community Church. A reception in Church Hall will follow.

Born June 30, 1917, in Alberta, Canada, Mrs. McCarthy died April 8, 2000, at her home in Dixon.

She lived most of her life in Dixon. She was the organist for Dixon Community Church for 40 years and worked at a teacher in the Dixon Unified School District before retiring in the 1960's. She was active in Eastern Star, Ladies Aid and the Dixon Women's Improvement Club. She taught piano lessons for many years.

Mrs. McCarthy is survived by her son, Timothy of Salinas; daughter, Kerrylea Martinelli of Santa Rosa; grandchildren, Kenneth M. Griffin of Santa Rosa, Timothy Jason McCarthy of Sacramento and Kendra McCarthy of Salinas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Patrick T. McCarthy.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern California.

Gretchen Josephine Schroeder-Geraty

A funeral for Gretchen Josephine Schroeder-Geraty, 88, of Dixon will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born May 11, 1911, in Dixon, Mrs. Schroeder-Geraty died April 10, 2000, in Davis after a long illness.

She attended Dixon schools, graduated in 1929 and furthered her education at the School of Arts and Crafts in Oakland.

She worked for the state of California, Division of the Blind for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the M.M. Club of Sacramento, Sewing Club of Sacramento, Fort Sutter and Golden Rod Chapter of Eastern Star, David Lubin PTA of Sacramento, Tremont Mite Society, Dixon Art and Lunch Bunch, Dixon Woman's Improvement Club, Dixon Historical Society, Dixon Senior Citizens, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Relief Society of Sacramento and Dixon.

She enjoyed traveling, visiting friends, crocheting, knitting, painting watercolors, cooking and gardening.

Mrs. Schroeder-Geraty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Irving and Darlene of Dixon; daughter and son-in-law, Ann Geraty-Erwin and Don of Dixon; grandchildren, Larry and Bruce Erwin of Dixon, Gary Erwin of Novato, Gretchen Erwin of Lebanon, Ore., Stephen Geraty of Sacramento, Alison Geraty of Woodland, Kristen and Jeff Haley of San Diego and Delbert Geraty of Dixon; eight great-granchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Robert Therault

Vigil services for Robert Therault, 68, of Vacaville will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lima Family Erickson Funeral Home in San Jose. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Santa Clara. Cremation will be private.

Born May 11, 1931, in Warwick, R.I., Mr. Therault died April 7, 2000, in Vacaville.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion in Dixon and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his loving wife, Antonette of Vacaville; son and daughter-in-law, John and Lorrie; sons, Robert and Richard; daughter, Ann Marie Johnson; five grandchildren and seven sisters and brothers.

Henry Charles Cattoretti

A memorial service for Henry Charles Cattoretti, 75, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McCune Garden Chapel. Chaplain Keith Knauf will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Born June 13, 1924, in Passaic, N.J., Mr. Cattoretti died April 8, 2000, in Vacaville.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked as a police officer in Florida for 10 years. He was a member of the Vacaville Moose Lodge.

Mr. Cattoretti is survived by his wife, Josephine of Vacaville; daughter, Patricia Horn of Fairfield; granddaughter, Tara Janice of Vacaville; grandson, Lance Zimmerman of Sacramento; great-granddaugher, Morgan Janice of Vacaville; and sister, Charlotte Bagatti of Pennsylvania.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Chapter, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Angela Marie Espinosa

A memorial service for Angela Marie Espinosa, 11, will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hillside Church in San Jose. Inurnment will be private.

Born June 1, 1988, in San Jose, Miss Espinosa died April 8, 2000, at her home in San Jose.

She was a student at Willow Glen Middle School.

Espinosa is survived by her father, Tom; mother, Traci Anderson; sisters, Adrienne Anderson and Kelly Roberts; and stepfather, Scott Robers, all of San Jose.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the Angela Marie Espinosa Fund, 8232 Coast Oak Way, Citrus Heights, 95610.

Albert Edward Lavoie

A Catholic Prayer Service for Albert Edward Lavoie, 86, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bryan-Braker. Interment with full military honors will be private. The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will preside.

Born Oct. 22, 1913, in Quebec, Canada, Mr. Lavoie died April 7, 2000, in Fairfield after a long illness.

He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years before retiring in 1965 as a commander of 1501 Field Maintenance Squadron at Travis Air Force Base. He entered the Air Force as a private and reached the grade of lieutenant colonel. He worked in civil service as an industrial engineer and retired in 1977. During his career, Lavoie was awarded the Soldier's Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Medal for Human Action, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, American Campaign Medal, American Defense Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award.

He was a member of the Fairfield Elks BPOE, Retired Officers Association, and the 40th Bomb Wing group in Florida. He loved to travel, repair items with his hands and he played professional football. He was a New York state heavyweight boxing champion.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Fairfield; daughter, Carol Costarakus of San Diego; son, Donald of Newport Beach; sister, Georgette Oberst of West Palm Beach, Fla.; stepdaughters, Kathryn Fish of Woodburn, Ore., Kerry Waldthaler of Fairfield; stepson, Kurt Black of Fairfield; and seven grandchildren.

Urbano Luna

A funeral for Urbano Luna, 79, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. today at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Pastor Tim May will preside. Interment will follow at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born May 24, 1920, in Guanajuato, Mexico, Mr. Urbano died April 6, 2000, in Sacramento.

He worked as a ranch foreman for 57 years in the Dixon area. He enjoyed baseball, working in his yard, being outdoors and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Urbano is survived by his wife of 54 years, Teresa; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Joanna, Urbano Jr. and Juanita and Robert and Marilyn, all of Dixon; son, Richard of Placerville; daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Pat Day of Vacaville and Sally Luna and Rick Covey and Elizabeth and Mike Holly, all of Dixon; brothers, Guadalupe of Lodi, Alex of Winters, Gabriel of Woodland and Joe of Vacaville; sisters, Fidella of Sonora, Mexico, Adelina Aleijo of Stockton and Elvira Morey of Michigan; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Joseph J. Mueller Jr.

A Mass for Joseph J. Mueller Jr., 59, of Suisun will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Church. The Rev. Michael Downey will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fairfield Funeral Home. A rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Fairfield Funeral Home. Burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.

Born Dec. 5, 1940, in Clifton, N.J., Mr. Mueller died April 10, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center.

He retired in 1988 from the United States Navy after 31 years. He worked as an air traffic controller and served in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Mueller is survived by his wife, Alicia of Suisun; daughters, Stephanie Darpino of Suisun and Cindy Mueller-Nash of Magna, Utah; two sisters; two brothers; and four grandchildren.

A funeral for Violet Jeanetta Patton, 71, of Fairfield will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Martin Bergstrom will preside. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Aug. 18, 1928, in McAllister, Okla., Mrs. Patton died April 11, 2000, at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek after a short illness.

She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose faith in God has left a legacy that has touched all of her children"s lives. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Patton is survived by her husband, Dale of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Wiley of Fairfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Yolanda of Suisun and Mike and Bunny of Fairfield; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Betty Kaump of Napa; grandchildren, Patty Blakeley of Sacramento and Joshua, Scott Wiley, John, Jennifer and Alec Wiley, all of Fairfield; and three great-grandchildren.

Victoria B. Salonga

Born April 15, 1914, in the Philippines, Mrs. Salonga died April 10, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

She was a homemaker for 64 years.

Mrs. Salonga was survived by her husband, Dionisio of Suisun; sons, Dionisio Jr. of Fairfield, Serafin of San Jose and Jose and Cezar, both of Vallejo; daughters, Fe Baje of Covina, Esperanza Banzon of Suisun, Caridad Guitierrez of San Diego, Virginia Paulino and Rosario "Honey" Eustaquio, both of Vallejo and Victoria Dazo of Vacaville; 28 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Charles C. Thye

A funeral for Charles C. Thye, 88, of Vacaville will he held at 10 a.m. Friday at VacaValley Christian Life Center in Vacaville. Pastor David Crone will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCune Garden Chapel.

Interment will be at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Richmond.

Born March 12, 1912, in Chicago, Mr. Thye died April 11, 2000, in Sacramento.

A Vacaville resident for two years, Mr. Thye formerly lived in Dixon for many years. He worked for 38 years as a freight conductor for Southern Pacific Transportaion Railroad before retiring. He was a member of the Senior Men"s Club of Vacaville and VacaValley Christian Life Center.

Mr. Thye is survived by his wife, Mae of Vacaville; son, David of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.

Robert Elmer Clark

Born Dec. 4, 1938, in California, Mr. Clark died April 8, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center in Fairfield after a short illness.

A U.S. Navy flight engineer for 20 years, Mr. Clark was a member of the Eagles - Mountain View, American Legion and Fleet Reserve.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Pauline of Winters; sisters, Mary Howard of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Sandra Howard of Henderson, Nev.; and brothers, Donald of Rio Rico, Ariz., Richard of Simi, Raymond of Sisseton, S.D., and Warren of Upland.
