Olive Mae Zamaroni

A memorial service for Olive Mae Zamaroni, 94, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Vaca Hills Chapel. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Zamaroni died on April 26, 2000, in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born on March 16, 1906, in Santa Cruz, she moved to the area 29 years ago. She worked as a teacher of the College of Presentation in San Francisco for five years. She was a member of the Saturday Club, Leisure Town Women's Club and Eastern Star in Berkeley. She also was a member of Job's Daughters Bethel 87, holding the position as guardian and serving on the council. She enjoyed making ceramics and china painting.

Mrs. Zamaroni is survived by her husband, Frank Sr. of Vacaville; son, Frank Jr. of Sunnyvale; daughter, Carol Lois Lease of Arizona; and granddaughters, Catherine Bailey of North Carolina, Robert of Hollister, Michael Ferguson of Auburn and Lori Ferguson of Irvine. She also had four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Margaret R. Myers

A funeral for Margaret R. Myers, 81, of Fairfield will be 1 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield.

The Rev. Ernio Tufft will officiate. Interment will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Myers died on April 26, 2000, at David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base.

Born on Feb. 10, 1919, in Northport, Neb., she lived in Fairfield for the past 42 years. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of the Rockville Presbyterian Fellowship Church and Northwind Quilters Guild. She was also a member of the Fairfield Senior Center, Military Widows and Knight Hawks. She loved horticulture, playing the piano and was an avid reader.

Mrs. Myers is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Flo Flowing of Fairfield; sons, Kevin of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kerry of Mill Valley; and sister, Maxine Consior of Sacramento. She also had four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Albert W. Myers, in 1965.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Ruth M. Raefield

The ashes of Ruth M. Raefield, 76, of Vacaville will be respectfully scattered at sea near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

Mrs. Raefield died on April 26, 2000, at VacaValley Hospital.

Born on Jan. 12, 1924, in Baltimore, she lived in Vacaville for 20 years after having lived in Walnut Creek. She worked as a bookkeeper at McRaetec, a family-owned business, before retiring in 1991.

Mrs. Raefield is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Frank Lopez of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Maxine Guynn of Chico; and sister, Helen Pausch of Baltimore. She also had four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1991.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements are being handled by the Neptune Society of Northern California.

Martha Curtis

A funeral for Martha Curtis, 87, will be at 4 p.m. today at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 400 Brown St., Vacaville. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Curtis died on April 24, 2000, at VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

Born on March 10, 1913, in Rosedale, Miss., she moved to the area four years ago. She was employed as the head cook for Chicago Heights School District No. 169 for 14 years. She was a Jehovah's Witness and an avid reader, particularly of the Bible. She loved cooking, fishing, gardening and singing.

Mrs. Curtis is survived by her daughters, Odell Rucker of Chicago Heights, Ill., Gwendolyn Appling of Stockton, Elizabeth Curtis and Catherine Johnson, both of Vacaville, Dorothy Toney of Newark, Elouise Brown of Fairfield and Brenda Hicks of Modesto; sons, John of Hayward, Donald of Fresno, Milo of Oakland and Bernard of Vacaville; brothers, Sylvester and Roosevelt Vance, both of Chicago Heights; and sister, Luella Vance of Chicago Heights. She also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ted Malone Kamp

Memorial services for Ted Malone Kamp, 64, of Placerville will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fairmont Memorial Park in Fairfield. The Rev. Dennis Reynolds of Assembly of God Church in Brentwood will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Jan. 23, 1936, in Tulsa, Okla., Mr. Kamp died April 28, 2000, in Fairfield.

A resident of Placerville for four years, Mr. Kamp lived in Vallejo from 1962 to 1994. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as an instructor in quality control classes for 38 years.

Mr. Kamp volunteered for eight years with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program, which rebuilds churches, orphanages and church camps. He was a member of Christian Life Center in Pollock Pines.

Mr. Kamp is survived by his wife, Wanda of Placerville; daughter, Cynthia Mason of Belfair, Wash.; sons, Philip of Fairfield and Bruce and Jeff, both of Bremerton, Wash.; brother, Frank of Eufaula, Okla.; sister, Leah Wallen of Slidel, La.; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program, P.O. Box 725, Calimesa, 92320-0725.

Arrangements are under the direction of McCune Garden Chapel.

Ernest Oxford

A funeral for Ernest Oxford, 64, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Vacaville.

The Rev. Lester Seto of Bethany Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCune Garden Chapel. Interment will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born May 26, 1935, in Walters, Okla., Mr. Oxford died April 27, 2000, at his home after a long illness.

He lived in Vacaville for 33 years.

Mr. Oxford worked as an aircraft electrical foreman at Travis Air Force Base for 25 years and as chief of the David Grant Medical Center engineering branch for two years.

He homesteaded in Alaska during the 1960s. He enjoyed traveling, gold prospecting and rockhounding. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Nicky Bass of Lincoln; sons and daughters-in-law, J. Michael and Kerry of Coos Bay, Ore., and Ron and Clara of Mobridge, S.D.; and grandsons, Jeremiah and Ryan.

Memorial contributions can be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 621 S. Orchard Ave., Vacaville, 95688.

Betty Joy Russell

Graveside services for Betty Joy Russell, 62, of Suisun will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. Ed Miller will officiate. Burial will be at the cemetery.

Mrs. Russell died on April 27, 2000, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

Born on July 9, 1937, in Texarkana, Texas, she moved to the area 22 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafting, particularly floral arrangements.

Mrs. Russell is survived by her son, Mark of Suisun; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Billy Tobin of Vacaville and Nancy and Bob Felix of Wisconsin; and sister, Paula Starling of Texas. She also had eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son William Paul in 1980, and her husband, William Rex, in 1985.

Robert F. Stuber

A funeral for Robert F. Stuber, 75, of Sacramento will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vaca Hills Chapel. Pastor Michael Root will officiate. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Stuber died on April 28, 2000, at his home in Sacramento after an illness.

Born on June 24, 1924, in New York, he moved to Sacramento 15 years ago after having lived and worked in the Vallejo area in the mid-1970s. He retired as a groundskeeper, serving at various school districts for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sacramento and a past member of the First Baptist Church in Vacaville and Temple Baptist in Fairfield. He was a very skilled artist.

Mr. Stuber is survived by his wife, Jimmie of Sacramento; sons, Mac of Winters, Bob of Paradise and Jim of Crockett; and daughter, Janell Neto of Red Bluff. He also had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1900 Powell St., Suite 285, Emeryville, 94608-1897.

Florence Margaret Shoemaker

A funeral for Florence Margaret Shoemaker, 91, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Forestvale Cemetery in Helena, Mont.

The Rev. Victor Berg of Helena will officiate.

Mrs. Shoemaker will be buried at the Forestvale Cemetery in Helena.

Born Oct. 21, 1908, in Canada, Mrs. Shoemaker died April 27, 2000, at the Sierra Solano Health Care Center in Fairfield after a long illness.

She moved to Vacaville two years ago.

Mrs. Shoemaker was a wonderful pianist and she loved music.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, the Rev. Byron Gale and W. Clifford Shoemaker; and sons, Martin Lee Gale and the Rev. Mervyn F. Gale.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Elwood and Karol Gale of Vacaville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Steve A. Auer

A funeral for Steve A. Auer, 58, of Fairfield, will be noon Friday at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capital Drive, Brookfield, Wis. .

Mr. Auer will be interred at the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Born Oct. 13, 1941, in Derby, Va., Mr. Auer died April 29, 2000, at NorthBay Medical Center after a brief illness.

He lived in Fairfield for 33 years.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, retiring as a chief master sergeant in 1988. While in the Air Force, he worked as a line chief at Travis.

He enjoyed fishing and airplanes.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, David and Roseanne Liebenstein of Bolinas; brothers, Teddy and John of Middletown, Fla., and Harold of Orlando, Fla.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Chapter, P.O. Box 844, Santa Rosa, 95402.

Jeffrey Scott Barnard

There will be a private memorial service for Jeffrey Scott Barnard, 36, of Stockton.

The Rev. Stan Caylor of the Vacaville Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate.

There will be a private inurnment at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Born Feb. 27, 1964, in Fairfield, Mr. Barnard died April 25, 2000, at home after a long illness.

He lived in Stockton for a year.

He worked for Rhone-Poulenc in Martinez prior to moving to Stockton.

He enjoyed camping and fishing and was a member of the Vacaville Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cathrine of Fairfield; daughters, Shelbie and Kelcie of Fairfield; parents, Delmer and Georgie of Fairfield; sisters, Pam of Fairfield and Debbie Taylor of Sacramento; uncles and aunts, Dale and Judy of Fall River Mills, and Syd and Sher Brown of Mill Valley; grandmother and step-grandfather, Lois and Grant Young of Medford, Ore.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

'Joe' Haskill

A celebration of life in memory of "Joe" Haskill, 70, will be held at 1 p.m. May 20 at the Placerville Fairground Veterans Building.

Mr. Haskill died Sept. 17, 1999. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend for an afternoon of reminiscing of "days gone by."

One of Joe's last wishes was to "Have a party on me."
