Eugene Towner

A funeral for Eugene Towner, 58, of Suisun/Fairfield will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, in Solano Valley Mortuary.

The Rev. Dale Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Carmichael.

Mr. Towner died July 22, 2000, in his home after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 9, 1942, in Memphis, Tenn., he lived in the area for 2 years. He was a truck driver for 20 years.

Mr. Towner is survived by his daughters, Marlissa and Monyette Towner-Bristol of Pa.; sons, Maurice and Steven Towner-Bristol of Pa.; sisters, Geraldine Goodwin of Fairfield and Mary of Oakland; brothers, Charles Brown and Maurice of Oakland; he was preceded in death by his parents, David and Edna Towner.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Solano Valley Mortuary Chapel.

Helen B. Young

A memorial service for Helen B. Young, 87, of Vacaville, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Valley Evangelical Free Church.

Dr. Raleigh Galgan will preside. Inurnment will be private.

Mrs. Young died July 27, 2000, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Born Dec. 25, 1912, in Clear Lake, S.D., she resided in Vacaville for 10 years. She was a piano instructor for 59 years. She was still teaching up until several weeks ago. She was a member of Valley Evangelical Free Church in Vacaville. She enjoyed concerts, ballet, and national league football and major league baseball. She also played the organ at various churches during her lifetime.

Mrs. Young is survived by her son, Arnold of Fairfield; sister, Mariam Solem of Healdsburg; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Francie Force of Pomona; granddaughter, Katherine Young of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Carl.

Arrangements were handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Jesus Cortez
A Catholic Prayer service for Jesus Cortez, 37, of Los Angeles, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Vaca Hills Chapel.
The Rev. William Feeser will officiate. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Cortez died July 28, 2000 in Los Angeles.

Born Aug. 15, 1962, in Mexico, he was a lifelong resident of Los Angeles.

Mr. Cortez is survived by his children, Luciano, Giovani, Sonny and Franchesco, all of Yuma, Ariz.; parents, Pedro and Leonor of Evanston, Wyo.; sisters, Cecilia and Rocio, both of Provo, Utah; brothers, Pedro Jr. of Ceres, Robert of Alameda, Alvaro of Evanston, Wyo., Gabriel and Claudio both of Ceres.

He was preceded in death by his son, Efrain in 1992.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Barbara M. Parker
There will be no services for Barbara M. Parker, 85, of Vacaville. Inurnment was private.
Mrs. Parker died June 19, 2000 in her home after a long illness.

Born in Vermont and remained in New England growing up in the State of Main, she moved to California in 1960, first living in Southern California, then to Vacaville, where she has resided the past 20 years.

Mrs. Parker was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Vacaville Senior Citizen's Club where she enjoyed attending luncheons, trips to Reno and visiting with friends.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her granddaughter, Penny Sue Forrest and James Myrick of Auburn, Maine; great-grandchildren, Casey Robert Myrick and Brittany Lauren Myrick of Auburn, Maine and several nieces and nephwes.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. in 1974 and a son, Richard M. Forrest in 1967.

Cremation and arrangements were handled by Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo.

Levi Andres Rojas
An infant Catholic Graveside service for Levi Andres Rojas, of Vacaville, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. The infant died at birth in Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Vallejo.
Father William Feeser of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow.

The infant is survived by his parents, Ted and Isabella of Vacaville; sister, Dominique of Vacaville; maternal grandparents, Lucy and Andres Perez of Vacaville; paternal grandmother, Gloria Ramares of Vacaville; numerous aunt, uncles and cousins.

Arrangements were handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Angelina Adiego

A funeral service for Angelina Adiego, 95, of Vacaville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in McCune Garden Chapel.

Father William Feeser will officiate. Interment will follow at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Adiego died Aug. 1, 2000 in Vacaville after a long illness.

Born April 28, 1905, in Vacaville, she was the youngest daughter of nine children born to Frank and Filamena Adiego. She was a lifelong rancher in English Hills.

Adiego was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all sports and taking trips to Reno.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Contributions may be made in Adiego's memory to the donor's favorite charity.

Theresa L. Coote

Memorial services for Theresa L. Coote, 83, of Vacaville will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 17, at Holy Name of Jesus Church in San Francisco.

Born Aug. 14, 1916, in St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Coote died July 31, 2000, in Vacaville.

A homemaker for 50 years, Mrs. Coote enjoyed gardening and dancing. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary and volunteered at the Holy Name of Jesus Church.

Mrs. Coote is survived by her husband, Leonard of San Francisco; sisters, Gloria, Louise and Josephine, all of Sterling, Colo.; brothers, Joseph, Victor, Frank and John Lazzaretti, all of Sterling.

Memorial contributions can be made to Diabetes Association, 817 Missouri St., Fairfield, 94533.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society.

Lloyd E. Neal

Funeral services for Lloyd E. Neal, 70, of Dixon will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home. Interment will be at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born June 23, 1930, in New Mexico, Mr. Neal died Aug. 3, 2000, in Sacramento.

Mr. Neal retired after 22 years in the Navy. He then worked for Exxon Refinery in Benicia for 19 1/2 years. He was a member of American Legion of Dixon, Order of the Moose of Dixon, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dixon, the Tin Can Sailors, the National Rifle Association and a club with Exxon.

Mr. Neal is survived by his wife, Marie of Dixon; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Doris Koehne of Winters, Frank and Sheri Neal of Vacaville; son, Robert of Dixon; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ivan Ingram of Woodland; niece Patti Clereng of Santa Maria; grandchildren, Randy Koehne of Memphis, Tenn., Brian Koehne of Wichita, Kan., Mike Koehne of Branson, Mo., Michael, Matthew, Sarah and Caitlyn, all of Vacaville, and Christina and Amanda Ingram of Woodland.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

Eusebio M. Perez

Funeral services for Eusebio M. Perez, 88, of Fairfield will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. Pastor John Lomacang and sister Filma Cerezo will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Aug. 11, 1911, in the Philippines, Mr. Perez died Aug. 4, 2000, at home.

Mr. Perez worked in Lodi and Delano as a farm laborer. He moved to Fairfield and worked for six years at the Solano Ruben's Ranch. After that, he worked as a foreman in Vacaville at Roger's Brazelton Ranch for 26 years. He was a member of the Filipino American Community Club of Fairfield.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley T., of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Rod Nuqui of Bakersfield; sister, Dr. Laura Castrol of the Philippines; brother Valerios of the Philippines; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Charles Raymond Shively

Funeral services for Charles Raymond Shively, 60, of Suisun City will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 101 Oakwood Drive in Suisun City.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Rockville Cemetery.

Born Oct. 14, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Mr. Shively died Aug. 5, 2000, at home.

A resident of Suisun City for 22 years, Mr. Shively served in the Air Force for 22 years, before retiring as a master sergeant in 1983. He then worked in Sacramento and Alameda as a technical order writer for military applications.

A loving and generous husband, father and friend, Mr. Shively was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 38 years. He served as an assistant ward clerk for 19 years and was active in family research, adding many names to his family tree tracing back to the 1600s.

Mr. Shively is survived by his wife Jo Ann of Suisun City; daughters, Cheryl and Wendy, both of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Paul Barkley of Vacaville; son, David of Suisun City; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kimberly Fenter of Vacaville; granddaughters, Jennifer, Kristen and Braxton Fenter and grandson, Zachary Fenter.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Memorial contributions can be made to Kaiser Hospice Program, 975 Sereno Drive in Vallejo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Levi Andres Rojas

A graveside Catholic service for Levi Andres Rojas, of Vacaville, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The infant died at birth in Kaiser Permanente Hospital, Vallejo.

Father William Feeser of St. Mary's Catholic Church will officiate. Interment will follow.

The baby is survived by his parents, Ted and Isabella of Vacaville; sister, Dominique of Vacaville; maternal grandparents, Lucy and Andres Perez of Vacaville; paternal grandmother, Gloria Mares of Vacaville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Arrangements were handled by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Richard D. Wright

Richard D. Wright, a longtime teacher and beloved football and wrestling coach for whom the Willis Jepson Middle School gymnasium is named, died Aug. 5, 2000 after a battle with lung cancer. He was 64.

'He was a great teacher,' said Richard Gideon, who taught with Mr. Wright at Willis Jepson. 'He enjoyed the kids a great deal and was very interested in what they did, not only in athletics but in all aspects of their education.'

Born Jan. 15, 1936, in Platte, S.D., Mr. Wright graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1954.

After graduation, he taught in the Springfield, S.D., school system and began a long career in coaching wrestling and football, a career he would eventually continue in Vacaville.

Between teaching jobs, Mr. Wright served in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician.

Then, in 1968, Mr. Wright and his family moved to Vacaville where he taught mathematics at Willis Jepson Middle School for 26 years.

While teaching at Jepson, Mr. Wright was also the athletic director. He coached football and wrestling and had the honor of having the gymnasium named after him.

Beyond teaching and coaching, Mr. Wright was a family man who loved fishing, hunting, traveling, as well as family reunions. When enjoying his hobbies, he usually had some of his children involved with him. He took great joy in impromptu get-togethers with family and friends.

Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Mary Lu; son, Jeffery D. of Berkeley; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kathy of Vacaville; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and George Vasquez of Vacaville; daughter, Tami of Vacaville; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Elmer Gray of South Dakota; grandchildren, Amanda, Molly and Megan Vasquez of Vacaville; and many special friends.

A Catholic prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Vincent O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will be at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to the NorthBay Hospice.
