Anne Marie Aimo
Anna Marie Aimo died April 22, 2003. She was 89 years old.
Beloved by all, Marie was born in Modena, Italy, on Oct. 24, 1913.
She has been a resident of Morgan Hill for 63 years.
She is survived by her brother Aldo Dompe of Modena, Italy; longtime companion Charles “Dutch"” Wingo of Morgan Hill; God-daughter Rita Alciati-Seehof of San Ramon; nieces Margaret and Theresa Beltramo of Atherton; and longtime friends, John and Elsie Alciati of Morgan Hill.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Johnson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, 2065 W. El Camino Real, Suite C, Mountain View, CA 94040-2217.
Catherine E. Morris
Catherine Elizabeth Morris died April 20, 2003, in Morgan Hill. She was 79.
Morris was born in San Francisco on July 13, 1923.
She graduated from Mission High.
She married Robert Morris on Dec. 7, 1941.
She worked as a noon duty aide for Holly Oak School in Evergreen and as a crossing guard for San Jose School District.
She is survived by her sons Robert, James, Wayne and Mike; brothers Bud and Rich Meek; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
No services will be held.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Kenneth G. Watson
Kenneth G. Watson died April 24, 2003, in Sacramento at age 64.
A native of Canada, he lived in Morgan Hill for 15 years.
He was the loving husband of 34 years to Barbara Watson of Sacramento; beloved father of Darl Watson and wife Kim of Hollister, Chad Watson of San Jose, Todd Watson and wife Jennifer of Elk Grove; grandfather of Tiffany, Aaron, Blaine, Ryan and Sean; and brother of Halcyon of Seattle, Wash., and Hazel Lawson of Fairfield.
Friends are welcome to attend services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in the Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., in Elk Grove.
Interment in San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery
will be private.

James R. Symons
James R. Symons died April 28, 2003, at his home in Santa Barbara after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 66.
Symons was born in the Bronx, NY. He grew up and was educated in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He was an Army man - serving his country in France. When he returned to civilian life, he worked for many years in the food equipment manufacturing industry.
In 1976 Jim made a transition to real estate sales in Morgan hill where he and his wife were employed with Coldwell Banker as “A team.”
In 1987 they relocated to Alameda, and in 1997 retired to Santa Barbara.
Jim had a wonderful out-going personality, a tremendous sense of humor, loved to sing and whistel and was a joy to be with.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife of 27 years Irene (Mycki) McCarthy; son John Donaldson Symons and his wife Caroyln; grandchildren Hannah, John-Paul, Sarah and Scott, all of West Bend, Wisc.; brother George (Brenda) of Malibu and his family Theodore (Melina), Geoffrey (Laura), and Kent (Rebecca). He also is survived by in-laws Glenn and Beverley (McCarthy) Pace; brothers-in-law David (Kat), James (Rory) and Neil and Judith (McCarthy) Bowlby of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia; nieces and nephews Partricia Brien (Gordon), Theresa and Robert.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Eleanor (Bloemecke) Symons; daughter Barbara Donaldson Symons; and brother and sister-in-law William and Carol.
The family asks that any donations be made to Hospice Care and Visiting nurses of Santa Barbara, 222 E. Canon Perdido St., Santa barbara, CA 93101.
The time and place for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapel of Santa Barbara.
Jamie Thomas Sousa
Jamie Thomas Sousa died April 26, 2003, while fishing near his home in Oregon.
He was 29.
Jamie was raised and educated in Gilroy and was the youngest son of Dick and Alice Sousa.
Jamie was the brother to Richard, Geralyn and Steve Fortino, Marianne and Don Smith, Ted, Jim and Sumi Sousa.
Jamie was a lover of nature and the outdoors. To him, perfection and fulfillment in life was any day, good or bad, of fishing. While his life was brief, it was a loving and complete one, lived to the fullest and exactly as he wished.
Jamie is survived by his partner in love and life, Denia Clevenger. He was the much loved uncle to Miles, Mitchell, Dalilah and Dustin Sousa, Nicholas, Daniel and Adam Fortino, Joshua Smith, Marikah, Samuel and Shantille Simonson.
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gilroy.
The family requests donations in his honor to The Lord’s Table in Gilroy or the Reachout Food Pantry in Morgan Hill.
Local arrangements were by Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
Marianne J. Newquist
Marianne J. Newquist, 91, died peacefully April 23, 2003, in Chico.
Marianne had lived in Morgan Hill for 11 years prior to moving to Chico two years ago.
Marianne was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son Gary; daughter-in-law Mary; and three grandchildren, David and his wife Yvette, Diane and her husband Chris Needles and Danny and his wife Tracy. She also was proud of her six great grandchildren; Mitchell, Shawna, Grant, Austin, Blake, and Jordyn.
A memorial service is set for noon Saturday, May 10, at Advent Lutheran Church, 16870 Murphy Ave.

Clemencia Quezada Lara
Clemencia Quezada Lara died Friday, May 2, 2003.
A native of Nayarit, Mexico, she was 41.
She was the wife of Vicente H. Gomez of Morgan Hill; mother of Christian Gomez of Gilroy, Edgar Gomez of Morgan Hill and Michelle Gomez of Morgan Hill; daughter of Valentin and Rita Quezada of Mexico; sister of Gloria Quezada, Estela Quezada and Evaristo Quezada, all of Mexico; Catalina Lopez of Chicago, Ill., Elida Quezada of Redway, Noelia Reyes of Los Banos, Rosario Cuellar of Gilroy, Teodora Lara of Gilroy and the late Luis Quezada; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, with funeral services at 7 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.
