Alfred C. Alonzo

Funeral services for Alfred C. Alonzo, 75, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Dixon.

The Rev. Maurice O'Brien will officiate. Burial will follow at Silveyville Cemetery.

Mr. Alonzo was a longtime Dixon resident and farmer. He was born Aug. 1, 1922, in Fairfield, and died Dec. 19, 1997, in Davis after a brief illness.

He sat on the Solano Irrigation District board of directors and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his family.

Mr. Alonzo is survived by his wife, Pauline, sons and their wives, Gerald and Judy and Donald and Marlene of Dixon; daughter, Kathleen Alonozo Barr of Dixon; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Paul Giametta of Vacaville; stepson and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Lynda Campbell of El Sobrante; brother, Tony of Medford, Ore.; sister, Rita Holland of Fremont; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon. Rosary follows at 7 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Goble Reiko

Funeral services for longtime Vacaville resident Goble Reiko, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. The Rev. Kosho Yukawa will officiate.

Mrs. Reiko was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Tokyo, Japan, and died Dec. 19, 1997, in Vallejo after a short illness. She was a resident of Vacaville for 25 years.

She loved to sew, travel and spend time with her children. She was a homemaker for 48 years.

Mrs. Reiko is survived by her husband, Bevely of Vacaville; daughter, Marlena Steinbach of Mountain View; and son, Rex of Vancouver, Wash.

Arrangements are handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Shirley Mae Center

Funeral services for Shirley Mae Center, 60, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Monday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Born Jan. 4, 1937, in Fresno, Mrs. Center died Dec. 24, 1997, in Vacaville after a sudden illness. She lived in Vacaville for 35 years.

Mrs. Center was as a chiropractic assistant 13 years.

Mrs. Center is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bud; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Deborah of Fresno, and Dave and Trish of Susanville; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rod Sanchez of Elk Grove; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.

Contributions may be made to the Oklahaven Children's Chiropractic Center, 4500 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73112.

Anne Coles

Graveside services for Anne Coles, 98, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. The Rev. Stephen Leonetti of Epiphany Episcopal Church will preside.

Born April 21, 1899, in Vacaville, Mrs. Coles died Dec. 25, 1997, in Lindsay. She was a descendant of A.M. Stevenson, who with his brother started the Vaca Valley and Clear Lake Railroad in 1869.

Her maternal grandparents were early settlers in Helena, Mont.

Mrs. Cole graduated from Vacaville High School in 1918 as valedictorian. She graduated from California State University, Berkeley, with a teaching degree.

She taught for the Vacaville Unified School District for 30 years.

Mrs. Coles was a member of the Saturday Club, St. Margaret's Guild, AAUW; DAR; and the Epiphany Episcopal Church. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Mrs. Coles is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Morey and Dorothy of Lindsay; brother, Albert Stevenson of Vacaville; grandchildren, Chris and Ellen of Alameda, Paul and Barbara Coles-Brooks of Martinez, David and Kelli of Lindsay, and Rick and Sara of Fresno; and great-grandchildren, David, James, Rowan Brooks, Reese Brooks, Jared, Rachel, Wesley, and Scott Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Morey Sr. in 1969.

Contributions may be made to the Vacaville Museum, 213 Buck Ave., Vacaville 95688.

Arrangements are by Webb-Sanders Funeral Home in Lindsay.

Mary Ione Hale

Graveside services for Mary Ione Hale, 81, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery. The Rev. Vic Matson will preside.

Born Feb. 25, 1916, in Suisun Valley, Mrs. Hale died Dec. 25, 1997, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Mrs. Hale attended California State University, Chico, and for four years was a secretary for the Solano County Agriculture Department. Along with her husband, she worked on their ranch for 53 years.

She was a member of the Suisun Wednesday Club and Cowbelles of Green Valley. She loved to travel, garden, read and cook.

Mrs. Hale is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Lorie of Suisun Valley; sisters, Jean Danielson of Vacaville and Shirley Bushing of Sacramento; brother, Rudy Mangels of Suisun Valley; and granddaughter, Billie of Suisun Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and daughter, Mary.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Carl Leslie Olsen

Memorial services for Carl Leslie Olsen, 79, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., in Fairfield.

The Rev. Vic Matson will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born March 13, 1918, in San Francisco, Mr. Olsen died Dec. 26, 1997, in Fairfield after a short illness.

Mr. Olsen lived in Fairfield for 21 years. He worked as a warehouseman for 45 years.

He was a member of the Sons of Norway Lodge in San Francisco. He loved oil painting and gardening.

He is survived by wife Emma of Fairfield; son, Gary of San Francisco; son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Juanita of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Steven Allred; sisters, Bernice Swedmark and Verna Smith of Loomis; nine grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Redwood Empire Chapter, or the American Lung Association Contra-Costa/Solano, 105 Astrid Drive, Pleasant Hill 94523.

Wallace Roy Tidwell

Funeral services for Wallace Roy Tidwell, 83, of Fairfield, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St. in Fairfield.

Interment will be in the Suisun Fairfield Cemetery.

Born April 21, 1914, in Byers, Okla., Mr. Tidwell died Dec. 24, 1997, at his home after a brief illness.

Mr. Tidwell was born and educated in Oklahoma. He moved to California in 1935. He worked on various ranches in the Suisun Valley as a laborer for six years.

He then worked as a construction foreman at Travis Air Force Base from 1943 to 1951. He was directly involved in the building of the runways at the base.

He then moved to Mississippi where he lived for 14 years. Upon returning to Fairfield, he worked as a foreman for the Solano County Mosquito Abatement District. He retired in 1979.

His main interests were hunting and fishing.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Albert Gray of Fairfield; son John of Oregon; companion Betty Jenogan of Fairfield; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Loraine Yvonne Fukumitsu

Funeral services for Loraine Yvonne Fukumitsu, 62, of Vacaville will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville.

The Rev. Vic Matson of the Community United Methodist Church will officiate. Internment will be private in the Sierra View Cemetery in Marysville.

Born Feb. 26, 1935, in San Francisco, Mrs. Fukumitsu died in Vacaville on Dec. 29, 1997, after a long illness.

Mrs. Fukumitsu lived in Vacaville for 22 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper with the U.S. Postal Service for 16 years. She was then employed as an accountant for the Solano County Superior Court for five years.

She is survived by her husband, Ben of Vacaville; daughters, Christy of Vacaville and Sheri Siino of Walnut Creek; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home for visitation between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.

Robert Williams Jr.

Funeral services for Robert Williams Jr., 69, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Olivet Baptist Church in San Francisco.

The Rev. Larry Callahan of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sacramento will officiate.

Burial will be in Olivet Memorial Park in Colma.

Born July 8, 1928, in Herman, La., Mr. Williams died Dec. 23, 1997, in Vacaville after a sudden illness.

He had lived in Vacaville for three months after being a resident of Pinole.

He was an Air Force veteran and had retired as a painter with the San Francisco Unified School District. He then did odd jobs for select clientele.

He was interested in herbs and was known by his family as the "herb doctor."

Mr. Williams is survived by his daughter, Patricia of Oakland; sisters, Ethel Russell and RosieLee White, both of Vacaville; brother, Alonzo Williams of San Francisco; companion, Dorothy Wilson of San Francisco; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. in McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

The chapel is handling arrangements.
