Joy E. Arnett

Funeral services for Joy E. Arnett, 76, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. today in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery in Forestville after a 2:30 p.m. graveside service today.

The Rev. Leroy Gainey of First Baptist Church in Vacaville, will officiate.

Born Jan. 29, 1922, in Leavenworth, Kan., Mrs. Arnett died April 13, 1998, in Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento after a long illness.

She moved to the area 42 years ago.

She worked as a clerk for the U.S. government for 17 years.

Mrs. Arnett is survived by her husband, Floyd; son, Timothy Craig of Vacaville and granddaughter, Melissa of Vacaville.

A memorial contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Gerald L. Fillmon

Funeral services with full military honors for Gerald L. Fillmon, 62, of Vacaville, will be held 1 p.m. Friday in McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

The Rev. James Hardy of Community Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Born July 10, 1935, in Clearwater, Fla., Mr. Fillmon died April 13, 1998, in Vacaville after a a brief illness. He lived in Vacaville 32 years.

Mr. Fillmon was a retired chief master sergeant of the Air Force and continued working at Travis Air Force Base in civil service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was an elder of Vacaville's Community Presbyterian Church and had been a volunteer at Kaiser Hospital in Fairfield.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, camping and loved his family.

Mr. Fillmon is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marleyne; daughters and sons-in-law, Debi and Mike Roe of Santa Cruz, Kathy and Rick Abell of Anchorage, Alaska, and Sandra and David Lawson of Sacramento; brother, James of Clearwater; sister, Vera Cook of Clearwater, grandsons, Kevin Roe of Santa Cruz and Nicholas Abell of Anchorage, and granddaughters, Kim Roe of Santa Cruz, Brandi Abell of Anchorage, and Jennifer Lawson of Sacramento.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today in the chapel.

Audrey Gail Moreau

Funeral services for Audrey Gail Moreau, 59, of Vacaville will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the McCune Garden Chapel.

Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mrs. Moreau died April 12, 1998, in Vacaville after a sudden illness.

Born Dec. 7, 1938, in Waltham, Mass., she moved to Vacaville in 1977. She worked for five years for the California Medical Facility and she was an employee at Travis Air Force Base for seven years.

Mrs. Moreau enjoyed playing bingo, taking weekend trips with her husband, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ronald Joseph Moreau of Vacaville; daughters, Barbara of Vacaville, Deborah Hutzenbiler of Billings, Mont., and Kimberly Nusbaum of Bend, Ore.; son, Ronald James; brother, Kennith Rood of Littleton, Mass.; sister, Beverly Zechello of Valencia; and eight granchildren.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McCune Garden Chapel.

Deolinda O. Santos

A Mass of Christian Burial for Deolinda O. Santos, 81, of Suisun City will be held at 10 a.m. today in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fairfield.

Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

The Rev. Luciano Valenzuela will officiate.

Born Nov. 18, 1916, in Angola, Mrs. Santos died April 9, 1998, in her home. She had lived in Suisun City 10 years.

She was a homemaker for 60 years.

Mrs. Santos is survived by daughters, Maria C. Velmo, Ann C. Velmo and Fatima C. Velmo, all of Portugal; sons, Antonio Velmo of Suisun, Rodrigo Velmo of Richmond, Sergio Velmo of Angola, Bento Velmo of Espanha, Miguel Velmo and Carlos Velmo, both of Portugal; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation and a rosary were held Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Maria Dolores Escano

A Mass of Christian Burial for Maria Dolores Escano, 73, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vacaville.

Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. The Rev. Benedict DeLeon of the church will officiate.

Born June 21, 1924, in Vacaville, she died April 13, 1998, in VacaValley Hospital after a long illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Vacaville and had been a bookkeeper for the Vacaville Flower Shop for four years. She served in the Women's Army Corps from November 1956 to July 1958

Ms. Escano is survived by brothers, John of Fremont and Alfred of Sunnyvale; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Tony, in 1980.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in Vaca Hills Chapel.

Robert Neal Hubbard

Funeral services for the Rev. Robert Neal Hubbard, 65, of Vacaville will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Epiphany Episcopal.

The Revs. Jerry Lamb and S.J. Leonetti will preside. Burial will be private.

Born Oct. 8, 1932, in Douglasville, Ga., Mr. Hubbard died April 15, 1998, in VacaValley Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Hubbard graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Ga., in 1954, with a bachelor's degree. He graduated from Crozer Seminary with a divinity degree in 1958; and from 1958 to 1959, undertook special studies.

In November 1959, Mr. Hubbard was ordained by Bishop Hart.

He had several assignments, including: St. Paul in Chester, Pa., from 1959-61; associate rector, All Saints in Ardmore, Pa., 1961-62; dean of Schuulkil Deanery from 1980 to 1988; vicar at St. Barnabas in Philadelphia from 1990 to 1992; and lastly, he was associate at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Vacaville beginning in 1992.

Contributions may be made to Epiphany Episcopal Church, 100 West St., Vacaville 95688; or Solano County Special Olympics, 2801 Waterman Blvd., Suite 100, Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements are by Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Verena Fern Pitcher

Graveside services for Verena Fern Pitcher, 80, of Fairfield will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

The Rev. Robert Lewis of Temple Baptist Church will preside. Burial will be at Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Nov. 19, 1917, in Arapahoe, Colo., Mrs. Pitcher died April 16, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.

She was a homemaker and formerly worked with her husband at Solano County Juvenile Hall as a counselor for 10 years.

She lived in Vallejo from 1941 to 1958 before moving to Fairfield. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening, painting and writing poetry. Also, she enjoyed decorating and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Pitcher is survived by her daughters, Glenda Thacker and Deanna, both of Fairfield; grandchildren, Lisa McKinnon of Vacaville, Rene Rhoades of Fairfield and Jim of Fairfield; great-grandchildren, Dawnielle McKennon and Mallorie McKinnon, both of Fairfield; great-great-grandson, Tyler Reames of Fairfield; sisters, Irene Aggeson of Minnesota, Katherine Plunkett of Oklahoma and Pat Nicletti of Colorado; and brothers, Roy Shaffer of North Carolina and Donald Shaffer of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Fairfield Funeral Home.

James Anderson

Funeral services for James Anderson, 20, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Silveyville Cemetery.

Born Feb. 11, 1978, in San Jose, Mr. Anderson died April 16, 1998, after a sudden illness. He was a resident of Dixon for 10 years.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his girlfriend, Tennille Peterson of Vacaville; daughter, Emily of Vacaville; son, Noah of Vacaville; mother, Vickie Chaloux of Dixon; brother, John Chaloux of Dixon; stepfather, Frank Perez of Dixon; aunts and uncles, Leslie and Anthony St. Amant of Dixon, and David and Juanita Chapman of Dixon; and several cousins.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Milton Carpenter Funeral Home in Dixon.

Quentin Terrell 'Friday' Freytag

Funeral services for Quentin Terrell "Friday" Freytag, 83, of Clearlake Oaks will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake.

The Rev. Robert MacDonald will preside. Burial will be 2 p.m. in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Born Sept. 6, 1914, in Smithville, Texas, Mr. Freytag moved to Clearlake 16 years ago. He had lived in Vacaville for 30 years, and served as an aircraft worker for Travis Air Force Base for 20 years.

Mr. Freytag attended Evangelical Free Church in Lucerne.

Mr. Freytag is survived by his wife, Velma Freytag of Clearlake Oaks; daughters, Sherrie Corona of Kelseyville and Joyce Cross of Vacaville; son, QT of Vacaville; brother, Bruce of Sacramento; and three grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel, Lower Lake.

Ruth Wright Kilkenny

An Irish wake for Ruth Wright Kilkenny, 80, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Dennis and Jessica Kilkenny, 5125 Putah Creek Road, Winters. Friends and relatives are invited. Burial services will be private.

Born April 21, 1917, in Cement, which is now a part of Fairfield, Mrs. Kilkenny died April 17, 1998, at Friends House Convalescent Home in Santa Rosa after a long illness.

She was a resident of Dixon for 43 years before moving to Santa Rosa several years ago. As a homemaker, she devoted her life to raising her three sons. She was an avid antiques collector, bargain hunter and conversationalist.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Linda of Santa Rosa, Dennis and Jessica of Winters, and Kim and Mary of Carlsbad; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. Kilkenny.

Clarence 'Skeet' H. Paine

Private burial services will be held for Clarence "Skeet" H. Paine, 75, of Fairfield at Fairmont Memorial Park.

Mr. Paine died on April 16, 1998, at home following a long illness. He died peacefully in his sleep.

Born Aug. 30, 1922, in McFarland, he moved to the area 41 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and later worked for Sunsweet Growers as a fieldman and prune dehydrator manager.

He worked for Sunsweet Growers for 32 years. He earned his bachelor's degree in ag-econ and mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.

His hobbies included woodworking and sports. Mr. Paine enjoyed baseball and tennis and was also a Little League baseball manager.

Mr. Paine is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and David Antonucci of Tahoe City; sons and daughter-in-laws, Timothy D. and Eileen Pain of Riverside, Andrew H. and Ingrid Paine of Ogden, Utah; sister, Hazel Sawyer of Chino; and three grandchildren.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
