Mom was also predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ethel Stewart; sister Doreen Appleyard; brothers, Glenn and Keith Stewart; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lionel and Eleanor Good; nephew Gerald Good; and brother-in-law Reg Coburn. Mom was born icon Beryl Bernice Stewart on October 14, 1932, the fifth of eight children and spent her early years in the Lilyfield area. When she was 12 the Stewart family moved to the family farm in Balmoral. Mom received her early schooling at Phipps School and later attended school in Balmoral. Mom began working for the telephone system in Stonewall where she remained for five years. Mom married icon Samuel Good on November 3, 1956 and moved a half-mile down the road where she has remained until her recent stay in hospital. Mom and Dad had a family of ten children, all within 13 years. Mom was very proud of her role as a homemaker. The house was not always tidy but everyone's bellies were full. Mom enjoyed cooking and baking and making meals for Dad and the boys out on the fields at harvest and seeding time. Mom enjoyed feeding who ever stopped by, her door was always open. Mom felt she was blessed with all that she had and without ever complaining she found a way to manage. Mom was involved in the Balmoral ladies curling for a number of years and was active in helping coach softball in the late 1970's, she could always be seen watching dad or us kids curling at one rink or another. Mom was also an active member in the Balmoral UCW, and became a lifetime member of the Balmoral ladies curling club. Mom suffered a minor stroke in 1980 and another more serious in 1981. Then she suffered another blow when Dad passed away suddenly in 1983. In Mom's later years she and Uncle Ken became avid Blue Jays fans and would rarely miss a game on TV. Mom enjoyed being in her own home, but never missed a chance to hop in someone's car and go for lunch, grocery shopping or just for a visit. Mom's greatest accomplishment in life as she would tell you, were her 23 grandchildren. They were her biggest joy in life! Mom would tell everyone she saw "I have 23 grandchildren!" Grandma Beryl would attend most school events, hockey games, baseball games, curling games, this was her new lease on life. In October 2002 Mom was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's but this did not break her spirit, she managed to stay in her home with sheer stubbornness and determination. In August of this year Mom fell at home and broke her hip, after her stay in hospital she returned home once again, ultimately this was the beginning of the end. We will all miss Mom's sharp wit and quick comebacks, as we could always count on Mom for a good laugh. You were the best mom we could ever have had . . . We will miss you Always! We will love you Always! Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at the Victoria General Hospital for the excellent care Mom received, also to Dr. Graham and the nursing staff at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital.
