MARY MARJORIE KING GRAHAM (nee LANIGAN) Passed away peacefully on November 8, 2004. Marj was pre-deceased by her husband Joe King and second husband Gordon Graham. She leaves her three daughters, Doreen Weitzel, Dulcie and husband Gordon Stein, and Donna Dow; as well as nine grandchildren
and 19 great-grandchildren of whom she was very proud. Marj was a long-time resident of Transcona where she raised her family. As a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, it was her desire to share these words: We'll meet again, ...don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to staff at Concordia Place, where she has resided for the past four and one-half years. At her request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. However, friends are invited to drop in and join the family in a celebration of her life in the multipurpose room on the main floor of Concordia Place on Friday, November 12 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Concordia Place.

EDWARD ARTHUR HARRINGTON July 23, 1932 - November 8, 2004 On Monday, November 8, 2004, Edward passed away at Deer Lodge Centre, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife Francisca (Nancy); daughters, Joyce (John), Carmen (David), Donna, Nora, Anita (Brad) and Tina; stepdaughter Helen; grandchildren, Amana, Dawn, Laurie-Anne, Frank, Gordon, Trevor, Darnell, Justin, David, Benita, Dylan; Jeffrey, Ferlyn-Ann; great-granddaughters, Aiesha and Rylee; as well as extended family. Edward was a Korean War Veteran and joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery where he served three tours of duty. Later on, he became a communications Sergeant, with the Fort Garry Horse. He earned the rank of Sergeant Major prior to retirement. Edward took classes at the University of Winnipeg in Museology to become museum curator of the Fort Garry Horse military Museum and the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12, at 2:00 p.m., also in the chapel, with viewing one hour prior. JUDITH ILEEN HILL March 10, 1943 - November 8, 2004 Peacefully on Monday, November 8, surrounded by her family, Judith Hill passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Grace Hospice. She was predeceased by her daughter Leigh in 1997. Judith is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Daryl; children, Cheryl (Mark) Wold, Keri (Jason) Bennett; grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrew and Ethan; brother Don (Heather) McLaren; sisters, Joan McLaren and Pat (Doug) Bassett; also many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Judith was born
in Dauphin, MB and moved to Winnipeg as a young woman, where she met and married
Daryl and started a family. Later Judy worked for the Department of Education. After retiring, she volunteered at the Women's Pavilion with their pre and postnatal classes. She had many interests, including travel and her winter home in Mesa, Arizona, quilting with the "Dubliners' Quilters", keeping fit, and of course her dog Oliver. Judy was generous and kind, always putting her family first. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospice who provided great loving support and care to Judy and her family. VICTORIA MARY JENSEN (nee HRECHKA) March 18, 1932 - November 8, 2004 With great sadness our family announces that Vicki passed away on Monday, November 8, 2004 at the age of 72. She will be sadly missed by children: Barbara (John) Knott of Portage la Prairie and grandchildren, Mike and Erin Knott of Devon, AB along with great-grandchildren, Aidan and Becca and granddaughter Jacki Knott (Chris Shay) of Portage; Susan (Dave) Wilkinson along with grandchildren, Steve (fiance Carrie Arnold), Tom and Rachel all of Selkirk; Peter of Portage; David (Lyn) Jensen along with grandchildren, Raelyn and Bradly all of Carberry; and Rick of Portage. She will also be missed by nephew John (Penny) Jensen of Trenton, ON and niece Diane Jensen of Saskatoon, SK, as well as other extended family and friends. Vicki was predeceased by her husband Dick on April 15, 2004. She was also predeceased by her parents Michael and Celia Hrechka and brothers, Bill, Peter and John as well as sisters, Anne Kuny and Mable Serhan. Vicki is also survived by sisters, Mary Huygehbaert, Nellie (Pete) Budolowski and Marjorie (August) Kryschuk. Vicki was born
in Peesane, SK. She met Dick while working at the Peesane Store. They were married
April 10, 1950. For several years they farmed in Saskatchewan. After moving to Portage in 1966, Vicki worked for 23 years at Manitoba Developmental Centre, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren, reading romance novels and spending time at Delta Beach. Vicki accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour in 1982 and was a member of Portage Alliance Church. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Vicki" to the many children she served in Sunday School, Awana and child care for programs at church. Most recently she was a "prayer Granny" for Westpark School. A Memorial Service to celebrate Vicki's life will be held at Portage Alliance Church on Thursday, November 11 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Willms officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. The family would prefer charitable donations be made in Vicki's memory to Westpark School, P.O. Box 91, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3B2. We want to thank Dr. Carter and all the medical ward staff for the warm care they provided to Mom in her last week. SOPHIE KOTOWICH (nee CHODYNIECKI) 1920 - 2004 Mom peacefully left us, after a brave struggle with a lingering illness, on November 7, 2004 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, with her daughters at her side. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Lorraine (Grant) Turzak and their children Laura and Grace; daughter Louise (Randy) Sherby and their children Kevin, Leslie and Pamela. Mom is also survived by her sister Helen Meagher of Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Ted, whom she had missed dearly; as well as six brothers and sisters. Following her marriage, Mom remained at home, working hard with Ted to provide a good home. She enjoyed cooking for her family and tending her flower gardens. Until her eyesight failed, she loved to crochet and needlepoint, play bingo and read. We will always remember her great sense of humour and all the funny songs. Since 2001, Mom has been a resident of the Middlechurch Home, as she was no longer able to remain in her own home. Mom fully appreciated the kind care she received there and we thank all the wonderful staff at Middlechurch for this. Also, Mom enjoyed her days and all the activities because they were spent with her best friend Betty. They were inseparable. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa's Roman Catholic Church, 3597 Main St., with Rev. WILLIAM EDWARD LEDINGHAM 1944 - 2004 After a brief illness Bill passed away on October 30 in hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. Bill was born
August 28,1944 in Russell, MB. He had been a resident of Winnipeg and Vancouver, and for the past several years he had been a resident of New Zealand. Bill is survived by his son Robert Cameron; granddaughter Kaitlyn Grace; sister Margaret Grace; and former wife Darolyn Ledingham. He also leaves behind loved ones and friends in Canada and New Zealand. Bill will be especially missed by Michelle Curtis and her family in Auckland, NZ. Bill was predeceased by his parents R.G.(Pills) and M. Grace Ledingham. Cremation and a memorial service have taken place in New Zealand. A service will be held at a later date in Winnipeg. MARION BEATRICE MacHALE December 14, 1907- November 8, 2004 Peacefully, after a long and meaningful life, Aunt Marion moved on to be with our Lord in Heaven, on Monday, November 8, 2004. Her final days were at Misericordia Place in Winnipeg. Remaining to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews, Bob Timlick (Marion), Ron Timlick, Gayle Timlick, Brian Timlick, Linda Gallant (Dave), Bernard Timlick, Sandy Laidlaw (Ron), and Richard MacHale; great-nieces and nephews, Dave, Doug, Shelley, Candice, Raimey, Jill, Christine, Carly, Andrew, Ian, Brian and Stephen; as well as numerous great great-nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by her brother Jack; and sisters, Marguerite and Helen (Timlick). Marion was born
in Winnipeg, the oldest daughter of John and Rachael MacHale. She was a devoted Catholic, who lived her whole life in Winnipeg. Marion worked as a highly respected secretary for various businesses here, and enjoyed travelling with her sister Marguerite. Before the loss of her vision, she enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and entertaining her many life-long friends. Marion had a generous heart, supporting many different charities, and foster children overseas. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place with Rev. Msgr. Ward Jamieson presiding. LUISE MARTENS (nee RAHN) Our dear mother, Luise Martens, passed away peacefully into her Saviour's arms on November 5, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband Wilhelm Martens, 14 years earlier on November 12, 1990 and her great-granddaughter Leah Toews in 1998. Luise was born
on December 11, 1918 near Omsk, Russia. In 1929 her parents fled to Germany to escape Soviet oppression and after a brief stay the Rahns immigrated to Paraguay, South America. At age 14, Luise accepted Christ as her Saviour, and was baptized soon after upon the confession of her faith. Her life motto was 1. Cor. 3, 11 "For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." On January 7, 1939 Luise Rahn married
Wilhelm Martens. They decided to move to Canada in 1954, where her husband began a construction company. Luise passed many spiritual and life values on to her children and grandchildren. We, her children can only emulate what she has taught us. Luise was a godly woman as described in Proverbs 31; her family rises up and calls her blessed. DOROTHY EDITH McINTYRE (nee Hawken) March 26, 1910 - October 30, 2004 Dorothy Edith McIntyre passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at West Park Manor, Winnipeg. She is survived by four sons, David, Toronto, Ross (Anne) Winnipeg, Terry (Margie), Winnipeg, Rob (Barbara) Kimberley; as well as a brother James (Edythe), Sebring, Florida. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Clair (1973) and brother Walter. She was "Granny Mac" to grandchildren, Andrew, Meredith, Timothy, Alix, Cameron, Graeme, Iain, Lindsay-Rae and Dana; as well as nine great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born
in Montreal and was the daughter of Arthur James Selby Hawken and Mary Edith Blight. She was educated in Toronto and graduated from Household Science, University of Toronto in 1932. Following her marriage to Clair in 1936, she resided in Orillia, Toronto and Winnipeg. During her life she was a long-standing volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross. Granny Mac will be forever remembered for her much-anticipated family dinners, "the" cookies, her love of long walks, and how much she loved us all. The family would like to thank Mary Klassen, her faithful friend, and the staff of West Park Manor (2nd floor) for their many years of kindness and care. OLGA MIKA 1912 - 2004 It is with great sorrow, that we announce the peaceful passing of Olga Mika, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at the age of 92, on November 8, 2004. Olga left this world just in time to be with her husband Victor, who predeceased her in 1995, on the occasion of their 64th wedding anniversary, which they will joyfully celebrate with our Lord on November 9. Mother will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Maureen; son-in-law Terry; her three grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah and Jonathan and one great-grandchild Taylor Mika Smith. Olga was the last remaining of 11 siblings born
to Gottlieb and Maria Hastman. Olga has now joined John, Otto, Paul, Herman, George, Emile, Helen, Amanda, Edith and Anna. Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the Victoria Hospital, Misericordia Hospital, the Rosewood Village and the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the wonderful care and support they gave mother. JANET MARY MOORE It is with deep sadness that the Moore family announce the sudden passing of their sister Janet Mary Moore on November 8, 2004. Janet was born
in Winnipeg on July 17, 1939. She attended St. Ignatius School and St. Mary's Academy. She retired early from working for the Federal Government, and resided at the family home, then Villa Cabrini and finally Columbus Courts. She was predeceased by her parents, Milton and Jean Moore; and her brothers, Philip and Paul. She is survived by her brothers, Peter (Joan), Tom (Joyce), Jim (Heather), Joe (Lorraine), Bill (Mary Ann), Msgr. Michael, Bernie (Claire); and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends especially those from St. Ignatius and Columbus Courts. She was well known for her baking, knitting, needle point, playing cards and her generous heart. We thank all the health care providers who helped Janet throughout her life. MILITA NETZEL June 5, 1924 - November 6, 2004 At 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at the age of 80 years at the Seven Oaks Hospital, God called our Dearly Beloved Mom and Grandma Home to Eternal Rest and Peace. Milita was born
on June 5, 1924 in Fedorowka, USSR. She moved with her family to Canada in May of 1953 whereby she set up residence in Winnipeg, MB. She was most definitely a very "UNIQUE" individual. Leaving her homeland was very difficult for her but her love of it ALWAYS remained with her. Our Mom and Grandma faced many hardships and struggles in her life but always managed to remove the barriers with a strong will and determination. A very hard working and courageous woman. After arriving in Winnipeg she became a seamstress with Silpit Industries where she was employed for 37 years never missing a day except for funerals, working weekdays and weekends and overtime just to provide us with a roof over our heads, food on the table and clothes on our back. Money was never her God in Life and neither was the materialistic world. She lived a very quiet reserved life. There may not have been a title behind her name nor did she hold any positions but her love for her family, friends, strangers and animals was overpowering. Her love of cooking, baking, sewing and gardening skills were also top notch at one time and even towards the end of her time. She always put herself last on the list of priorities. Mom and Grandma was also a very religious person inside, who always obeyed God's "TEN COMMANDMENTS." She always prayed faithfully and continuously everyday for everyone and was always very troubled by the world events everywhere. A very compassionate, sensitive, caring and loving individual all around. There was many a day and many a time we could not understand her and were left frustrated, but this was her nature and personality and no one could ever change her lifestyle or way of thinking no matter how hard one tried. May God, Jesus, The Angels and all family and friends that have predeceased you in the past wrap their loving wings around you and welcome you to your new home to the Greatest Place Ever, "HEAVEN." Your eyes have made us see your words have made us listen. God gave us a "ANGEL" when he chose you to be our "MOTHER" and "GRANDMOTHER." You have left a legacy that will live with us forever. Our heartfelt thanks also go out to the various floors/units that our Mama and Oma was on while she was struggling so very hard with her various illnesses. CORNELIUS C. PETERS 1932 - 2004 On Saturday, November 6, 2004, Cornelius C. Peters, aged 72 years of Gimli, MB formerly of Gnadenthal, MB went to his eternal rest. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Elinor; two daughters, Karen (Brad) Doerksen of New Bothwell, MB, Fran (Reg) Braun of Fisher Branch; six grandchildren, Jesse, Rebecca, Jaclyn, Justin, Garrett, and Colton. He also leaves one brother, five sisters; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Maria; one brother-in-law Frank Neufeld. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, 252 6th Street, Winkler. BILL PLETT Wilhelm "Bill" Plett, 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2004, at Concordia Hospital. Bill was born
in Landmark, MB, on October 23, 1940, to Peter A. Plett and Margaret (Reimer) Plett. His early years were spent on the family farm in Landmark, MB. On April 16, 1961, he married
Irene Toews. His occupation and source of pride was that of a successful commercial construction contractor. He loved his work and the sports in which he participated till his last days. As a young man, Bill played football with the Landmark Flying Dutchmen and later in life came to enjoy both curling and golf. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Irene. His children and grandchildren will also miss him very much as he was their favourite storyteller, champion and supporter of whatever they did. Bill is survived by his wife Irene, his son Michael (Debbie); daughter Cheryl Reimer; his daughter Deborah (Ben) Koop; and his grandchildren, Devin, Nicholas, Amara, Brianna, Perry, Jonathan, Carmen, Shaylyn, Geoffrey and Madeline. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter A. Plett and Margaret Reimer Plett, and parents-in-law, Edward A. Toews and Anna Reimer Toews. The funeral service will be conducted at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere, on Friday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Koleba officiating.
