GORING, ALLAN ALBERT
It is with great sadness, that the family of Allan Goring, announce his passing on July 24th, 2009 in Grande Cache, Alberta . Allan was 77 years old.
Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory is his loving family; wife, Jo Goring of Grande Cache and Allan’s daughters Debbie Coventry and daughter Tanya James and great grand daughters Makayla and Kamaya all of Vancouver, British Columbia; and daughter Leslie Goring of Whitehorse, Yukon . Allan is survived by two sisters, Eleanor (Morley) Ries of Biggar, Saskatchewan and Verna Tangierd of Melville, Saskatchewan . Allan is also survived by his stepchildren, Linda, Ken, and James Ticiniski and family; Terry (Dale) Kinney and family, and Wayne (Lynette) King and family. He is fondly remembered and survived by many relatives and close friends.
Most of Allen’s life had been dedicated to the work of St. Johns Ambulance Service, and was a life member and past president of Grande Cache’s Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He joined St. John Ambulance Service in 1963 and had been involved ever since, helping those in the RCMP, Armed Forces, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Fire and Ambulance Services. Allan was decorated with the prestigious Governor General’s Medal for Distinguished Service in Ottawa in 1978 for service with the St Johns Ambulance. He received his 25 year service award with St Johns Ambulance Service in Edmonton in 1983. Allan had come to Grande Cache as a First Aid Attendant with Macintyre Porcupine 1969 and then as First Aid Supervisor with Smoky River Coal; he also taught mine first aid. His life was helping others. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial Services for Allan will take place on August 13th, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Pineview Alliance Church in Grande Cache, Alberta with Pastor Brad Shellenberg presiding. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of a floral tribute, the family suggests that a donation can be made to the Grande Cache General Hospital Box 629, 10200 Shand Avenue, Grande Cache, Alberta T0E 0Y0, or to the Pineview Alliance Church 10201 Hoppe Avenue, Grande Cache, Alberta T0E 0Y0 in Allan’s memory.

PLISKA, Les (Lefty)

A Memorial Service for Les (Lefty) Pliska will take place on Saturday, December 19th, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Foothills Memorial Chapel, Edson, Alberta with Worship Leader Kimberly Roy officiating. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be directed to the Canadian Diabetes. Association, Suite 1010, Royal Bank Building, 10117 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T5J 1W8, in memory of Les (Lefty) Pliska.

Funeral Services for Amanda will take place Sunday, December 27th, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Fulham Community Centre, Fulham, Alberta with Reverend Kent Horsman officiating. Interment will follow at the Shining Bank Cemetery, Shining Bank, Alberta.

SCHROEDER (WILLIAMSON), LANA GAY
With profound sadness, the family of Lana Schroeder, wish to announce her passing on December 30, 2009 at Hinton, Alberta . Lana was 43 years old.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory is her loving family; husband, Richard Williamson and son, Kenny Williamson both of Hinton, Alberta; Lana’s mother, Edna Armstrong of Hinton, Alberta and siblings; Dave Schroeder of Kamloops, British Columbia, Luanne (Bill) Gosney of Hinton, Alberta, Ken (Susan) Schroeder of Westlock, Alberta, Bob Schroeder of Hinton, Alberta, Brian (Alanna) Schroeder of Red Deer, Alberta, sister in law, Sheryl (Ross) Tyler of Edmonton, Alberta, step brothers Steven Schroeder of Kamloops, British Columbia and Keith Schroeder of Vancouver, British Columbia. Also surviving Lana is her very special “Sister by Choice” Dianne (Mark) Dudley of Leduc, Alberta; Paul Williamson of Hamilton, Ontario and Shirley Williamson of Holden, Alberta . Lana is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of very good friends. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Lana was predeceased by her fathers, Delbert Armstrong and Erwin Schroeder; and her very special friend, Jeannette Ganong.
Memorial Services for Lana were held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Hinton Community Center with Pastor John Klassen officiating the service. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of a floral tribute the family suggests that a donation be made to the Williamson-Schroeder family to help Richard and Kenny through this difficult time.

Yvon Joseph Denis Vautour
February 17, 1936 ~ June 23, 2010
After a valiant battle with cancer, Yvon passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at the Grande Cache Hospital . He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Audrey, daughter Denise and grandson Michael ( Edmonton ). Yvon's younger brother Bill, wife Ida and family ( New Brunswick ) are with us in spirit as we say goodbye to a good man. Also with us in spirit are Yvon's sister-in-law Betty () and family ( Nova Scotia ). Yvon will be dearly missed by the many wonderful friends he has made in Grande Cache and surrounding communities. He was blessed in this life to have many enduring friendships, from one end of to the other.
Yvon was predeceased by his father William, mother Ozelie, older brother Leon and granddaughter Leah (Bouvier) and now joins them among the clouds ~ a grand reunion is taking place as we prepare to celebrate his wonderful life on Wednesday, June 30th at the Legion in Grande Cache. The White Poppy Service will begin @ 2:00pm, with refreshments and fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the Vautour Family suggests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Alberta and NWT, 200 – 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, Alberta – T2E 2P5 in memory of Yvon Vautour.

DENNISON, DONALD JAMES
Don Dennison of Edson, Alberta passed away on June 27th, 2010 at the age of 75. Don is survived by his loving wife Dian and his children: Denise (Don) Miller and their children; Raelene, Tara and Robyn (Danny) Martin, Roxanne (Doug) Setzer and their children; Jason (Karli) and their children Kayle and Denton, Darrel (Keli) and Tyler (Carling), Gavin (Mariea) and their children Devin and Josh, Delwyn (Cindy) and their children Aaron (Reanne), Alanna and Tayla, Trudy (Jeff) Price and their children Brianne, Evan, Wesley, Wageyah and Mugahshu. Don is also survived his brother Doug (Wanda) and his sister Gaile Eisler.
A memorial service for Don will be held on July 2nd, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Carrot Creek Community Hall, Carrot Creek, Alberta .

CHATTEN, FLORENCE IRENE
Irene was born November 18, 1921 at Mrs. Stuart’s Nursing Home in Three Hills, Alberta to Florence and Marcus Reed.
Irene grew up in the Ghost Pine area until she went to work for George Chatten, where she met Cliff Chatten, and was married, December 2, 1942 and resided on the family farm in the Twinning area. Irene and Cliff had 9 children together. In July 1960 they moved to Trepanier, British Columbia, and also resided in Summerland, British Columbia and Westbank, British Columbia .
Cliff passed away February 1980, following her loss, Irene moved to Edson, Alberta in 1984, then on to Stump Lake, Saskatchewan in 2004 and finally settling back at Edson, Alberta in 2006 and resided in the Edson and District Long Term Care Facility until her passing on June 28, 2010.
Irene was predeceased by her parents, Florence (Reed) Price and Marcus Reed; husband, Clifford Chatten, sister, Ruth Sommerville; sister in law, Verna Reed; brother in law, Brian Sommerville and son in laws, George Sawatzky and Robert Henry.
Irene is survived by her sister, Eunice (Leo) Berreth of Olds, Alberta; brothers, Mark Reed and Watson (Grace) Reed both of Three Hills, Alberta and sister, Beth (Willis) Creighton of Chandler, Arizona. Irene is also survived by her loving children; Betty (Les) McLeod of Edson, Alberta; James (Rosalee) Chatten of Winfield, British Columbia; George (Eileen) Chatten of Hudson Hope, British Columbia; Bill (Dee) Chatten of Westbank, British Columbia; Glenda Henry of Edson, Alberta; Maureen (Al) Gliege of Surrey, British Columbia; Margery (Robert) Richards of McKay, Alberta; Karen (Ken) Reimer of Stump Lake, Saskatchewan and Gordon (Linda)Chatten of Pincher Creek, Alberta. Irene leaves behind 23 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Irene is survived by numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
At Irene’s request there will be a private family interment at a later date where Irene will be laid to rest with her father Marcus Reed.
In lieu of a floral tribute the family suggests that a donation be made to S.T.A.R.S. Alberta Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service Foundation, Northern Alberta, Building #16, 29 Airport Road, Edmonton, Alberta T5G 0W6 in Irene Chatten’s memory.

DE LEEUW, Miles
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved baby Miles.
Miles is survived by his loving parents Brent and Leanne of Carrot Creek, Alberta , His maternal grandparents John and Jeanette Van Meetelen of Edmonton, Alberta, His paternal grandparents Ron and Janet De Leeuw of Carrot Creek, Alberta, maternal great grandparents John and Femmie Depee of Edson, Alberta and paternal great grandmother Elizabeth De Leeuw of Edmonton, Alberta.
Also surviving are his aunts and uncles: Vernanda (Mark) Buwalda and family of Rimbey, Alberta, Julie (Zane) Davis and family of Hattonford, Alberta, Darryl (Cindy) De Leeuw and family of Niton, Alberta, Dwayne Van Meetelen and Jodie Van Meetelen, both of Edmonton, Alberta as well as numerous other relatives.
Miles was predeceased by his great grandfather John De Leeuw in 1985, Margaret Van Meetelen in 1996, John Van Meetelen in 1997, Theresa Van Wieren in 2008 and Donald Van Meetelen in 1986.
A graveside service was held at the Carrot Creek Cemetery on Monday, June 28th, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paul Van Stralen officiating.
