Predeceased by her husband Joe Patton. Loving mother of Gary and his wife Candy. Dear grandmother of Jennifer and her husband Jamie, Joanne and Glen. Predeceased by her brothers Roy, Harry, Freddie, Jimmy, Georgie and sisters Edna and Florence. ROWLAND, Lionel John 'Rollie, Al' -
Of Oshawa and formerly of Scarborough and Toronto at the age of 83, peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Lionel was born in West Toronto on October 22, 1920. He is the son of the late George and Caroline Anne (Hitchman) Rowland. Lionel served in the Royal Canadian Army Tank Corps for five years from 1940 to 1945 and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a Bell Telephone Pioneer having worked with Bell Canada for thirty years. Lionel is survived by his wife Mabel 'Wally' Irene Rowland, his children Gail McKellar and her husband Jim of Guelph, Robert (Bob) Rowland and his wife Valerie of New Lowell (Barrie), his grandchildren Wayne and Brian and Patricia, Kelly and Christina, and two great-grandchildren. Lionel is predeceased by his sister Dorothy Karkheck (late Currie) and brothers Norman Rowland (Margaret) and brothers wbo died in infancy. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711), on Wednesday, December 31st at 1 p.m. Visitation from 12 noon to service time. Rev. Don Stiles will be officiating. Interment at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto will take place in the spring of 2004. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

TOPPILA, Rauha Katariina 'Katherine' -
Of Ajax, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27th, 2003 with loved ones by her side. Born April 10th, 1927 in Hausjarvi, Finland, she is survived by three children Veijo and his wife Karen, Irma and her husband Bob and Mark, three grandchildren Raakel, Lana and Erik Toppila, brother Kalle and step-brother Lasse Laakso and step-sister Sointu and nieces, nephews and friends in Finland and Canada. She is predeceased by her husband Veikko (September 2000). Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Accettone Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated.

Entered into rest on Friday, December 26th, 2003 at Lakeridge Health, Uxbridge. In his 79th year. Gordon, beloved son of the late James and Gertrude Alsop. Dear brother of William and uncle of John. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, December 30th at 2:00pm. In Gordon's memory donations may be made to the Charity of your choice.

DOMBROWSKI, Hans Eberhard -
Suddenly at his home on Friday, December 26th, 2003 in his 68th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Elke. Much loved father of Kai Dombrowski and his wife Diane of Brooklin, and Kent Dombrowski and his wife Gloria of Richmond Hill. Loved Opa of Sydney, Brynne, Lane and Aiden. Survived by his brothers Hans Peter and Hans Werner and his sister Inge Dombrowski. Resting at MEMORIAL CHAPEL BROOKLIN Ltd., 79 Baldwin Street, Brooklin Village (905-655-3662) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Then to Brooklin United Church for funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning (December 31). As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

On Friday, December 26, 2003 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 83. Bert Jones of Brooklin, formerly of Scugog Point, beloved husband and best friend to the late Margaret (nee Wagg). Much loved father of Darla of Toronto, Dale (Ken) of Barrie, Craig (Heather) of Scugog Point and Robyn (Rob) of Janetville. Dearly loved grandfather of Brett (Dierdre), Bridget (Jeff), Jane (Greg), Karyn (Manny), Leslie, Heather Lee, Joe, Christopher, Brady and Rebecca. Lovingly remembered by seven great grandchildren. The family of Bert Jones will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 'McDermott-Panabaker Chapel', 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel on Monday, December 29th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Karen Bursey officiating. KRUPENNY, Gordon Roy -
Suddenly on Friday, December 26th, 2003 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, at the age of 74. Survived by his loving wife Lilla Marina Krupenny. Gordon will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. Private family interment will take place in the spring.

Lloyd was an Honorary Member and past President of the Durham Region Real Estate Board, Honorary Life Member of the I.R.E.M., member of the Real Estate Institute of Canada, C.P.M. & F.R.I. and a long-time member of the Oshawa Golf Club. Daughter of Mary Mullins and the late James Mullins. Dear mother of Byron at home and Shawn and Carey of Picton. Loving grandmother of Claudia. Dear sister of Maureen McDonald (Mark). Darrell (Bridget), Vincent (Linda) and dear sister in law of Cassie. Daughter in law of Mary Ellen Doyle. Predeceased by her step father Allan Sweeney (I 998) and her brother Jim (1996). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
