Loving mother of Chris Wilson, Linda and Pat Marren, Lori and Dan Matthews, Beverly Brown, Ronald Klyne and Debbie, Kathy and Danny Bazley, Linny Barkwell and predeceased by Fay Pratt. Mother in law of Tom Pratt, and the late Orv Barkwell. Lovingly remembered by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren and sister-in-law Ruth Northrup, nephew Avard Northrup and niece Sandra Northrup. Predeceased by her siblings Murray Northrup, Ronald Northrup and Avad Northrup (overseas WWII). A graveside service was held at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens Whitby, Ontario on Wednesday July 7, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Monday, July 5, 2004, in her 82nd year. Verna was predeceased by her husband Joe. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Sandra and her faithful companion Dusty. Predeceased by her brother Garnett Shier, and by her sister Hazel MacDonald. She will be sadly missed by her friends.
