In her 101st yr. Peacefully at Marnwood Lifecare Centre on Saturday April 16th 2005. Beloved wife of the late Herman Schmid. Dear mother of Edith & her husband Barry Danilko and Mary & her husband Vito Ditta. Mother-in-law to Clara Schmid. Loving grandmother of Laura, Mark, Bryan, Gary, Glen. She is survived by her great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service time at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. A Memorial Service will be held in our Chapel at 11 am Tuesday April 18, 2005. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.

THORPE, Bernice Alice (nee Pope) -
Originally from Trinidad; recently retired from the Durham Board of Education as a Special Ed and Kindergarten Teacher. Peacefully and with great dignity, passed away at the Rouge Valley Health System, Ajax on April 16, 2005, surrounded by her loving family members. Bernice is survived by her mother, Marie Pope (of Trinidad); her children, Allison and John; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 brothers. She will be dearly missed by her beloved companion Paul Katsoras. She is predeceased by her father Samuel Pope and her husband Milton Thorpe.

COOMBES, Wanda Lynn -
Aged 48 years. Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Whitby on Friday April 15th 2005. Beloved wife of the late Dennis Coombes. Dear mother of Lisa Coombes. Predeceased by her loving parents Lyndon & Beulah White. Dear sister of Glen & Jane White, Carol White, David & Sandra White, Barb & Dan Burley, Susan & Paul Whyte, Mike & Heather White & Brian & Sharon White. Wanda will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville Monday April 18th 2005 from 12:30 pm – 3 pm. Funeral Service will follow in our Chapel at 3 pm. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Peacefully on Friday, April 15th, 2005 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, in his 77th year. Beloved son of the late Robert and Jean Gilmore. Predeceased by his sister Jean and her husband Harry Bowen and his brother Billy and his wife Margurite. Loving uncle of Calvin Bowen and his wife Percilla, Debbie and her husband Carlos Branco. He will be sadly missed by his great nieces Mandy, Holly, Heather, Tiffany, Dawn, great nephew Matthew and great-great nephew Cole. A Complete Service will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel" 847 King Street West, (905)721-1234 on Tuesday, April 19th at 11:00 A.M. with visitation from 10-11. Interment of cremated remains will be held at ST. JOHN'S NORWAY at a later date. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

MacMILLAN, Walter John Wally -
(Decorated Veteran of the Korean War) At home on Friday, April 15, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Wally, beloved husband of Ann Yu and the late Waltraud Wally MacMillan. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters Cheryl Ashton of Simcoe, May Lynne MacMillan at home and his stepson Shaun Yu. Always cherished by his granddaughter Amy Ashton. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Ilene MacMillan and his brother Stan MacMillan. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully appreciated.

Peacefully, surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Corp. - Oshawa on Friday April 15th, 2005. Daniel Megesi in his 50th year. Beloved son of Lorraine and Mitch Megesi. Devoted Husband and soul mate of Marion for 27 years. Loving father and guardian angel of Jennifer and Matthew. Loving brother of Judith (Drago) Stojanovic, Joyce (Gerry) Paquette, Elizabeth (Rick) McBride, Dale (Claude) Romaine, and Lorrie-Ann Megesi. Dear Godson of Adrienne and Aurel Martel. Beloved son-in-law of Elena Pekalski. Fondly remembered by brother-in-law Bud Pekalski and his wife Linda. Special nephew of Gaetane and Lawrence Laroche. Will be sadly missed by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Special companion and man's best friend Bentley. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, on Monday April 18th, 2005.

Suddenly at his home in Courtice on Friday, April 15th, 2005 in his 51st year. Beloved husband of Pat (Welsh). Loving father of Jennifer, Becky and Brandon. Special Pa of grandson Johnny. Will be sadly missed by his parents Robert and Caroline Spencer, brothers Bill and his wife Gail, Robert and his wife Noreen, sister Barbara Cassel and the late Mary Higgins. Also mourning his loss are Sue Smale, Tim Welsh, Rick Welsh and their families. Chuck will be sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Loved father of Robert and his wife Anna, Jeffrey and his wife Janice, Gregory and his wife Lynda, and Carl and his wife Terry. Loving Opa of Melissa, Rachel, Tara, Ben, Luke, Alanna, MacKenzie, Rob, Jonathan, Justin and Alex. He will also be forever missed by his extended family in Canada, Holland, U.S.A., Germany and Bonaire. Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, April 15th, 2005 in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Ilse of 49 years. Loving father of Michael and his wife Terri, and Tom and his wife Pam. Devoted Opa of Sarah and Rachel. Fred will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loved family and dear friends here and in Germany. Dear aunt of Kelly, Amanda and Sabrina. Janice will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loved family and dear friends.
