Passed away at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Monday, September 19, 2005, at the age of 87. Helen, loving mother of Derek (Sharon), Leonard (Valerie) and Raymond (Kathryn). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Dianna, Rhonda, Bradley (Michelle), Jennifer, Clayton (Cheryl), Jayson, Shannon and her great-grandchildren. In Helen's memory, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society.

McKINNON, Gordon Donald -
(WWII Veteran, Signal Corp) (Former Senior Pastor of Durham Full Gospel Church)

Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and God’s presence at the Lakeridge Whitby Hospital on Monday, September 19th 2005.

Gordon, in his 84th year, dearly loved “handsome prince” to his late wife Ruby. Loving father and father-in-law to David and his wife Karen (of Ann Arbor, Michigan) and Gloria and her husband David (of Whitby, Ontario). A very special grandpa to his four grandchildren Ryan and Kristen McKinnon and Nathan and Aaron Garvie. He is survived by his two brothers Jim & Robert along with his one sister Marjorie Merritt. Predeceased by two brothers Jack & Walter.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Durham Full Gospel Church, 419 Brock Street North, Whitby from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. All are welcomed to participate in a celebration of Gordon’s life on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 24th, 11:00 a.m. at Lakeshore Pentecostal Camp Tabernacle, 1405 Pentecostal Road, Cobourg, Ontario (905) 372-4388 with lunch and fellowship to follow. Interment will be held in Sunderland Cemetery.

The family would appreciate donations to the mission work in Tortola, British Virgin Islands that Gordon and Ruby ministered in (1960-1970). Make cheques payable to Durham Full Gospel Church and they will be forwarded to Long Look Full Gospel Sunday School Ministries, Tortola, B.V.I. in memory of Gordon. Arrangements under the direction of OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel”, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234).

Dad will be remembered by those who knew him as a man who was passionate in his love of studying and sharing God’s Word having lived a full life of accomplishment and service in the name of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

MITCHELL, Fran -
Passed away peacefully with loved ones present, on Monday, September 19th, 2005 at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa in her 57th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Bob Mitchell for 30 years. Loving daughter of Lillian and Frank Fernandez. Dear mother of Kevin and Leanne Carter of Hammonds Plain, Nova Scotia, Cindy and Kevin Gates of Oshawa, Michael and Lori Carter of Digby, Nova Scotia and Darryl of Oshawa. Fran will be missed by her 12 grandchildren, her twin sister Linda McFadden (Brad)of Ancaster and brother Rod Fernandez (Denise) of Calgary, Alberta, sister-in-law of Tom and Kay Mitchell of Oshawa and many nieces and nephews. Thanks and love to all her friends who were Angels, bringing joy, support and encouragement throughout this challenging journey. At Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, on Sunday, September 18, 2005. Arlene Corby passed away one week before her 65th birthday. She leaves behind Richard Smith, Brian Smith and his son Nicolas, her sister Pamela Corby and a brother-in-law Darrell Gardiner. Predeceased by her father Roy and mother Verna and sister Eleanor Underwood. Will be missed by her nieces, nephews, and many friends at Northview Meadows Co-op. At Arlene's request there will be no funeral service. Loved grandfather of 7 grandchildren. (retiree of Bell Canada) Tragically as a result of a motorcycle accident on September 18, 2005 at the age of 51. Dear son of the late Edward & Betty Dochuk, beloved father of Ryan & Leeann (partner Richard), best friend of their mother Marleen Dochuk (nee Huinink), loved brother of Sharon (husband Norman), Jim, Robert (wife Shannon), Christine, Donna, Theresa, Stephan (wife Michelle), Christopher, Carolyn (husband Douglas) and uncle to numerous nieces & nephews. Rick will be fondly remembered & sadly missed by his family, friends & co-workers at Bell and G.M. According to Rick's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral, instead the family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life", Friday September 23, 2005 from 6pm-10pm at Kedron Hall, 2795 Ritson Rd.
