With sad regret and broken hearts, we announce the untimely passing of James (while on business in Texas) on Thursday, September 15, 2005 in his 61st year. James will be sadly missed by very many who love him dearly that include his beloved wife Linda, his children and their spouses Mike and Deb, Stephanie and Craig, Kimberly and Andrew, Jane, Quin-Duffy and Susan. His grandchildren Sita-Jane, Liam, Maeya, Keegan, Sophia. His closest friends Barney and Anne, and also his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and kin that include John, Johnathan, Amanda. And, the many, many pals, friends and associates who cherish his values, his love of family, and the respect and caring he has continuously showed to all who came into his life. To the father, gramps, and friend whom his children and their families will surely miss ... Dad: may your confidence, steadfast love of family and the countless life lessons, which will be your legacy, be preserved and nurtured so that our children may experience the wonderful gift that was you. His nickname says it all {ndash} The General. He led the way for all of us. He was a problem solver. He smoothed storms, stroked those in pain, and gave of himself tirelessly to all in need. He fixed broken hearts as readily as he devised corporate strategies. He changed diapers efficiently. And he once scored a hole in one. James loved well. If you wanted to see him light up like a Christmas tree you just asked him about his children. And if you wanted to hear laughter {ndash} lots of laughter {ndash} and see the picture of true and forever love {ndash} all you had to see was James and his lovely Linda. He never judged anyone and like a storybook hero he did what had to be done when it needed to be done regardless of the consequences. Our hearts are fuller for having been loved by him and he will be forever missed but never forgotten.
