Andrew C. DeMeritt
March 26, 1940 - July 22, 2012
Andrew C. DeMeritt, 72 of West Milford, passed away at Chilton Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
Mr. DeMeritt was born 1940 at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ to Ida (nee Zeliff) DeMeritt and Louis A. DeMeritt and grew up in East Paterson, NJ.
He attended and graduated in 1958 from Bergen County Tech. where he studied Culinary Arts and in later years earned several awards in NJ State competitions for cake decorating.
In 1962 he married Carol (nee Byrnes) in St. Anne’s Church in Fairlawn, NJ. They resided in Garfield, NJ where they began raising their son and daughter.
In 1968 they moved their young family to West Milford, NJ where they have resided for the last 44 years.
Mr. DeMeritt was employed at the age of 16 as cart pusher in Grand Union Supermarkets and remained with the company for over 40 years as he worked his way up to become a Grocery Manager in various locations, such as Wyckoff, Waldwick, and Ringwood.
Mr. DeMeritt was predeceased in 2009 by his loving wife Carol (Byrnes) of 47 years, and his dear brothers L. Daniel DeMeritt and Donald DeMeritt.
He is survived by his dear son Darren DeMeritt of West Milford, NJ, and his dear daughter Dawn Brown and her husband Rusty of Stockholm, NJ.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Tanner DeMeritt of West Milford, and Shane and Kayla Brown of Stockholm, his loving sister Sandra Shipley and her husband Ray of Florida, as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
Mr. DeMeritt will best be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as having an admirable work ethic. He enjoyed tending his yard in his retirement.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ. 07435.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 8:30 pm during visitation.
Final disposition will be private.

THERESA A. BORDEN
(June 13, 1960 - December 29, 2011)
Theresa A. Borden, 51,of, Oak Ridge, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011.
She was born in Paterson, NJ to Grace (nee Astorino) Latteri and William Latteri and was raised in Clifton.
Theresa graduated from Clifton High School in 1978 and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where she earned a degree as a dental assistant.
Theresa was a parishioner for many years at St. Joseph Church, West Milford, NJ
As of recently, she was a teacher’s aid in the Jefferson Township School District.
Theresa will best be remembered for her warm personality and her love of the outdoors, especially walking, boating, hiking, and swimming.
She is predeceased by her parents and her brother Keith Latteri.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband Robert Borden, her cherished children Alexandra and Robert Borden; her dear brothers William Latteri and his wife Bonnie of Vernon, NJ, Fred Latteri and his wife Donna of Magnolia, Delaware, and Bruce Latteri; her loving niece Alicia Capezio of Pt. Pleasant, NJ, and her dear nephews Jonathan Kistle, and Christopher and Joseph Latteri, all of Magnolia, Delaware, Danny Remmes of Vernon, NJ., Keith and Michael Latteri, both of North Arlington, NJ, as well as her sisters-in-law Lori Latteri and Sharon Capezio and her husband Joey of Pt. Pleasant.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 5pm to 9pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11am.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery adjacent to church.

GRACE KIMBLE
(June 20, 1920 - December 27, 2011)
Grace J. Kimble, 91, formerly of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
Ms. Kimble was born in Butler to Helma (nee Arnio) Kimble and Leslie Kimble.
For was employed for many years on Wall Street and later worked as a sales associate at Dugan’s Bakery, while also caring for her parents.
Ms. Kimble was predeceased by her brothers Harry Kimble in 1990 and Morris Kimble in 1981 and her niece Carol Ball in 2007.
She is survived by her nieces: Irene Utter of West Milford and Betty Lou Van Kirk of Stockholm; and her nephews: Richard Kimble of Newfoundland and Leslie and Dennis Kimble, both of West Milford; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 10am to 11am at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
The funeral service will take place at 11am at the funeral home followed by the interment at Newfoundland Cemetery, Newfoundland, NJ.

JOHN J. WILSON
(September 5, 1948 - December 25, 2011)
John J. Wilson, 63, of Oak Ridge, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2011.
Mr. Wilson was born in Kearney to Jane E. (nee Mitchell) Wilson and William Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a Lance Corporal in the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War when he proudly received the Navy Commendation Medal.
Mr. Wilson graduated from Jersey City State College and received his Bachelor of Art degree. He worked for many years in the Securities field as a Chief Compliance Officer.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the Marine Corp Law Enforcement Foundation and in later years, he became a member of the VFW Post # 564, and the American Legion Post # 423.
Mr. Wilson will best be remembered as an avid fisherman, golfer, and Giants fan.
Mr. Wilson is predeceased by his dear mother Jane E. Wilson 2011 and his dear father William Wilson in 1984.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his loving wife Jean A. (nee Parente) Wilson of 38 years; his beloved daughter Janine Wilson; his sister Carol Jagar and her husband Robert of Lodi, NJ, his brother David Wilson and his wife Maryann of Charlotte, NC; his nieces Kelly Gibson, and Nicole and Gabriella Parente; his nephews Chris Jagar, Michael and Raymond Parente, and Henry Kingsmore IV.
Mr. Wilson also leaves behind his loving brothers-in-law Carl Parente and his wife Linda, and Raymond Parente and his wife Diane and his loving sister-in-law Lenore Kingsmore and her husband Harry.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 5 to 9 pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11 am at the funeral home with visitation at 10 am for one hour prior to the funeral service.

MYRA SHAW
(May 2, 1914 - December 24, 2011)
She was born in Cornwall, England to Ethel (nee Wales) Jenkins and Thomas Percy Jenkins.
Mrs. Shaw was employed for many years as a program coder with Selective Risk Insurance Company.
She was a proud member of the Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church since 1991; a life member and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star –Northern Chapter 38; and a member of the Golden Age Club of Milton since 1991.
Mrs. Shaw was predeceased by her loving husband Donald E. Shaw in 1991; her dear son Donald E. Shaw in 1981; and her cherished grandson John Mikowski in 2005.
She is survived by her adored children: Larry Bayles and his wife Jeanne of FL, Gloria B. Mikowski and her husband Paul of Oak Ridge, NJ, and Thomas E. Shaw of FL.; her 10 cherished grandchildren: Bonne Simonian and her husband Eric, Thomas Bayles, Howard Bayles and his wife Tracy, Faye Carson and her husband Stanley, Sue Ellen Mikowski ,Carolyn and Jeffrey Jones, and Robin, Jennifer, and Dustin Shaw; as well as her 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She also leaves behind her dear brother Edwin Jenkins of Lafayette, NJ, and her loving nephew Joel Jenkins and his wife Donna of Sparta, NJ.
A graveside service will take place at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, Newfoundland, NJ

MARY ELLEN BAKKER
(April 24, 1944 - December 29, 2011)
Mary Ellen Bakker, 67, of West Milford, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011.
She was born in Paterson, NJ to Loretta May (nee Kerris) and Richard Van Splinter.
Mary Ellen was formerly married to Henry Bakker and together had their three sons.
She worked for 27 years as a teacher in the West Milford Township Board of Education while also earning her Master’s Degree in education.
Mary Ellen was a member of the Newfoundland United Methodist Church for many years and also enjoyed volunteering her time at the West Milford Township Library.
She will best be remembered for her love of travel, gardening, singing with the Harmony Singers, and most of being called “Oma” by her cherished grandsons.
Mary Ellen is survived by her three loving sons: Kevin Bakker and his wife Antoinette, and Kirk and Keith, all of Hewitt; her dear sister Loretta Sandford and her husband Jim of Wayne; her two cherished grandsons Dillon and Logan; her dear niece Kathryn Coyman of West Milford and her dear nephews; Thomas, Peter, and Paul Sandford.
She also leaves behind many close friends, especially her loving companion Bill Cowherd.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, December 31, 2011 from 2pm to 6pm with a funeral service at 5pm during the visitation at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435

JOHN C. FREDERICKS
(November 18, 1960 - October 13, 2011)
John C. Fredericks, 50, of Hewitt, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 13, 2011.
Mr. Fredericks was born in Pompton Plains to Peggy Ann (Kuhs) Fredericks and Bradford Fredericks.
He will best be remembered as being a devoted father and having an open heart and home to family and friends.
Mr. Fredericks is survived by his loving companion Pamela Steiner, his three dear daughters: Kerri, Alexa, and Julia Fredericks, and his two adored sons: Johnathan and Brad Fredericks , and his two brothers Bradford Fredericks of Bloomingdale, NJ and James Fredericks of West Milford.
He also leaves behind his two nieces Jocelyn and Ashley Fredericks, and his six nephews Shawn, James, Jason and Christopher Fredericks, and Justin and Jacob Schwartz.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 7-9 pm with a prayer service at 8:30 pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.
