With sadness the family announces the passing of Pascal Herbert, 86 of Cap Lumiére, NB, after a brief illness at Stella Maris Hospital, Ste Anne de Kent, Friday, July 4th, 2008. Born in Cap Lumiére, NB, he was the son of the late Simon Herbert and Azelie (Babineau) Herbert. Pascal had been the owner of Pascal Grocery until he retired. He attended St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. He was a member of the Golden Age Club. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 53 years, Alfreda; three daughters, Marie Herbert (Danielle) of Cap Lumiére, Simonne LeBlanc (Paul) of Cap Lumiére, Denise LeBlanc (Normand) of St. Edouard de Kent; two sons, Fernand Herbert (Dianne) of Cap Lumiére, Adrien Herbert (Chantal of Cap Lumiére; one sister, Rosée Comeau (Late Alban) of Cap Lumiére; seven grandchildren, Marcel, Sylvie, Isabelle, Mathieu, Ghislain, Jeremy and Tiffany. He was predeceased by five sisters, Elise, Eva, Marie, Meline, Noella; and brother, Gerard.
Resting at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village with visitation on Monday, 2 to 4 and 6:00 PM until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village on Monday, July 7th, 2008 at 7:00 PM. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Diana Marie Vautour
1935-2008
With sadness the family announces the passing of Diana Marie Vautour, 73 of Richibucto, NB, at Stella Maris Hospital, Ste Anne de Kent, Friday, July 4th, 2008. Born in Petite Aldouane, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Vautour and Suzanne (Richard). She attended St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. She is survived by her sister, Antoinette LeBlanc of Fredericton; three brothers, Henry, Yvon and Antoine Vautour all from Richibucto; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Jeannine Vautour; three brothers, Francois, Alphonse and Lionel. Diane had an inner strength and courage that many failed to see. She never complained when she had the responsibility when looking for her family. She knew grief, hardship, disappointments and fought a brave lengthy illness. She will be sadly missed.
Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto, with visitation on Monday, 7 to 9. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Interment in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

John (Jack) St. Thomas
1919-2008
St. Louis de Kent, NB - John St. Thomas (Jack), 89 of St. Louis de Kent, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Saturday, August 1, 2008. Born in Grand Falls, NB, he was the son of the late Walter St. Thomas and Late Thérèse (Page) St. Thomas. Retired he had been a firefighter for the Department of National Defense. Jack had served with the R.C.A.F. During WW 2. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 30. He survived by his 8 children; Gerald (Beatrice) of Moncton, Paul of Moncton, Camille of Moncton, Robert (Jane) of Moncton, Yvonne Gallant of Riverview, Gloria Scott of Lower Coverdale, Jean (Priya) of Alberta, Thérèse of Moncton, 1 brother; Walter of Montreal, 11 grand children, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his wife Claudia (Melanson) St. Thomas, 2 sisters; Mildred & May, 3 brothers; Felix, Hubert & Ralph. Remains resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent, with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9, Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Louis de Français R.C. Church, St. Louis de Kent on Tuesday, August 5th at 11:00 AM. Internment in parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Donald Byron (Barney) Hannay
1930-2008
Rexton, NB (Galloway) - Donald Byron (Barney) Hannay passed away Saturday August 2nd, 2008 at the Georges L.Dumont Hospital after a brief illness (leukemia). He was 78 years old. Byron was the last born son of the late Graham and Margaret (McGregor) Hannay. Byron was a third generation business man of Hannay’s Ltd.
Byron was known as Barney to most. His years at Hannay’s made him a fixture in the community, he was a great businessman, and a greater friend to all, he would lend a hand to anyone without a second thought. Even in retirement, Barney stayed active. He worked in the woods, gardened, and traveled. He loved buying and trading various types of equipment, stock and horses. Horses were one of Barney’s life long passions, and he was very proud that his grand daughter Nicole shared that passion. Whether he was trading horses or trading watches, the greater joy for Barney was the conversation and visits from friends both old and new. He always had time for everyone, and truly enjoyed people. Barney was active in the community, he was a member of St Andrew’s United Church, and was a Past Grand Patron of the Masonic Lodge. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Gemma (Dugas), his son Graham (Marilyn) of Calgary, Danny of Moncton, daughters Penny of Calgary, and Carla (Duane) Chadwick of Riverview. He is also survived by his sisters: Janet(Reg) Butcher of Edmonton, Jean(Mim) Tramley of Rexton, Elaine (Robert) Tramley of Winnipeg. Grand children: Nicole, Colin, Hanna and Colby, and one great grand son Ezekiel. Known to his grandchildren as poppy or grampy, they all brought great joy to him. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pre deceased by his first wife Jean Rae (MacPherson), brothers: Malcolm (Burna), Edward Junior (Mary) and one sister Lois (Avard).
Funeral arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto, NB. (506) 523-4252. Visitation will take place Monday August 4 th, 7-9 PM. Tuesday, August 5, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Visitation Wednesday, August 6th from 12:45 -1:45 PM at the St Andrew’s United Church. Funeral service will be at 2 PM. Lunch to follow in St Andrew’s Church Hall. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 6:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke foundation. They would also like to thank Doctor Michel Dastous and Doctor McCleave for their wonderful care.

Léonard Caissie
1925-2008
Richibouctou - Village, NB – Léonard Caissie, 83, of Richibouctou-Village passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent after a sudden illness. Born in Richibouctou-Village he was the son of the late Willie Caissie and the late Aurelie (Boucher) Caissie. Léonard is survived by a brother, André of Richibouctou-Village and two sisters, Florence Richard of Richibouctou-Village and Sr. Jeannine Caissie CND of St. Louis de Kent. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Arthur. He Was a Veteran of the second world war and a member of the Richibouctou-Village Golden Age Club.
Resting at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village with visitation Friday 7 to 9 and Saturday from 9 am until time of Funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11 am. Internment in the parish cemetery. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Lucie Richard
1927-2008
Richibouctou - Village, NB – Lucie Richard, age 91 passed away at the Villa Providence, Shediac, Sunday, September 28. Born in Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Richard and late Eva (Arsenault) Richard.
Lucie will be sadly missed by her brother, Armel Richard of Shediac, her dear grand children; Sylvie LeBreton (Sylvain) of Tracadie-Sheila, Lucie-Anne Robichaud (Stephane Cormier) of Ste. Anne de Kent, Christian Richard (Farrah) of Saskatoon, AB, 5 great grandchildren; Paul, Marc-André, Hailey, Abigail, Randy, and several nieces and nephews. Lucie was predeceased by her husband Camille (1991), son; Paul (1981), 2 sisters; Celine, Jeanne and 3 brothers; Edgar, Gérard, Albert.
Visitation at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 pm until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 7 pm. Arrangements are in the care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Juliette Richard
1927-2008
Richibouctou - Village, NB Juliette Richard, 81 of Richibouctou-Village passed away at the Moncton Hospital, Monday, September 29.
Born in Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Babineau) Richard. Retired, Juliette had been a secretary and was a very religious woman. She had taken part in prayer groups and bible studies. Juliette will be sadly missed by her six sisters; Emma Mazerolle (late Charlie) of Richibucto, Doris Melanson (Laurie) of Moncton, Jacqueline Bourgeois (Gerry) of Ontario, Sylvia Lavoie (J.P.) of Moncton, Rose-Marie Strachan (Robert) of Moncton Alberte Richard (Tom) of Fredericton, four brothers; Odilon (Laura) of Richibouctou-Village, Benoit (pat) of Ontario, Alfred (Rita) of Richibouctou-Village, Paul-Emile (Louise) of Moncton, sister in-law Florence Richard of Richibouctou-Village and several nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by three brothers; Yvon, Noé and Laurent.
Visitation at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday 2 pm until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Antoine de Padoue R.C. Church Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Cancer Unit would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Salomée Maillet
1917-2008
Salomée Maillet, 91 of Richibouctou-Village, NB passed away at La Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent on Sunday, October 5th, 2008. Born in Babineau Office, NB, Salomée was the daughter of the late Dosithée and Domithilde (Dallaire) Allain. Salomée attended the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village and was a member of the Richibouctou-Village Golden Age Club. Survived by one daughter; Elva Thibodeau (Regis) of Grand Barachois, two sons; Norman (Emerise) and Donald (Cecile) both of Richibouctou-Village, six grand children; Jocelyne, Remi, Mario, Mireille, Josée, Rachelle and four great grand children; Anthony, Mia, Benoit, Michel, two sisters, Edmée Leger (Late Lucien) of Moncton and Lauretta Allain of Richibucto. Predeceased by her husband; late Emery Maillet, son; Gerald, four sisters; Léa, Viola, Adele, Helene, and four brothers; Sylvain, Lionel, Acquila, and Aurele. Resting at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village with visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9, Tuesday 2:00 pm until departure for funeral. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village on Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 at 4:00 pm. Internment will be in the parish cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto, (523-4252).

Edgar Babineau
Crawford Road, Ontario - Edgar Babineau est décédé à sa résidence le 17 septembre, 2008 à l’âge de 55 ans. Né a Sudbury, Ontario, il était le fils de Clara Babineau et de feu Emile Babineau.
Il laisse dans le deuil, sa mère, sa soeur Denise (Rocky) et son frère Marcel (Leanne). Les funérailles auront lieu a l église Saint Louis des Français a St Louis de Kent, Samedi 11 Octobre a 11 AM. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroisial.
