St. Ignace, NB – A l’hôpital Stella Maris de Ste-Anne-de-Kent le 11 janvier à l’ âge de 85 ans est décédée Imelda (Comeau) Johnson, épouse de feu Hubert Johnson. Née à St-Ignace, elle était la fille de feue Antoine et Emerise (Barrieau) Comeau.
Elle laisse dans le deuil six filles; Solange Thebeau (Eric), Elise Stewart (Wilbert), Emerise Babin (Yvon), Bernice Arsenault (Rheal) de St-Ignace, Gemma Johnson (Juliano), de Gatineau, Québec, Rose Mai Daigle (Vincent) de l’Aldouane, trois fils; Gerard (Geraldine), Lorenzo de St-Ignace, Sylvio (Denise) d’Acadieville, deux soeurs; Alma Ouellette de St-Ignace, Alice de St-Jean, trois frères Gerard et Aurele de St-Ignace et Alyre de Moncton, 18 petits-enfants et 20 arrières-petits-enfants. Elle laisse aussi un ami spécial de la famille Aldoria Richard. Une fille Huberte et un fils Adrien, deux soeurs; Marie et Diana, quatre frères Sylvain, Alphee, Emile et Yvon l’ont précédé dans la tombe.
Mme Johnson aimait beacoup le golf et elle laisse derrière elle sa partenaire de golf Yvonne LeBlanc.
Les visites auront lieu à compter de 14, le mardi 13 janvier, à la Maison Mémoriale Thompson de Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Les funérailles auront lieu en l’église Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola de Saint-Ignace, le mercredi 14 janvier, à 16h. L’inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial, au printemps.

Helen Flanagan
1939-2009
Bass River, NB - Helen Flanagan 69, of Bass River, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, on Thursday, January 22, 2009. Born in McAdam, NB she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Violet (Roberts) Roberts.
Helen will be sadly missed by her husband Kenneth, daughter Sharon Young (Ed) of Bass River, 4 Sons; Kenneth (Louise) of Harcourt, Raymond of Bass River, Randy (Bernice) of Targettville, Robert (Lynn) of Rexton, 7 grand children; Angel, Morgan, Logan, Pam, Owen, Dustin, Krista, 5 great grand children; Joshua, Dylan, Dorian, Sawyer and Madison, 4 sisters; Evelyn Thompson (Earl), Mary Allen (Ray), Beverly Fraser (Willie), Vivian Scott (Glenn), 5 brothers; James (late Della), David (Late Rita), Richard (Isabel), Freddy (Esther), Louis (Cathy), several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother Walter.
As per Helen’s wished there will be no visitation. A funeral service will held on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 at 2:00 pm, St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard. Internment will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Joseph Elward
1927-2009
Richibucto, NB - Joseph Elward 81 of Rexton, NB passed away at home on Monday, January 26th, 2009. Born in Rexton he was the son of the late Charlie and Lucy (Daigle) Elward. Joe was a well known business man who owned and operated the Pine Theater in Richibucto for several years. He was member of the Richibucto Legion Branch No. 30 and the Richibucto Golden Age Club. He loved fishing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Joe will be sadly missed by his special friend Evelyn Briggs, his two sons; Normand (Marysa) of Richibucto, Bernie of Richibucto, 8 grand children, 4 great grand children, one sister; Regina (late Johnny) of Bouctouche, two brothers; George of Richibucto, Robert and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Yolande (Boucher) Elward and one brother Frank.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9, Thursday at noon until departure for funeral. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Internment will be in the Aldouane RC Cemetery in the spring. Eymard Arsenault
1919-2009
Richibouctou-Village, NB - Eymard Arsenault 89 and 11 months, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at La Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent on Monday, January 26th, 2009. Born in Richibouctou-Village, February 18th, 1919, Eymard was the son of the late Albert and late Marie (Allain) Arsenault. Eymard will be deeply missed by his wife Louise (of more than 62 years of marriage). He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Eymard is survived by his wife Louise (Babineau) Arsenault, three daughters; Jeannette Vautour of Dieppe, Odette Arsenault of Richibucto, Hélène (Elmo) LeBlanc of Ste. Anne de Kent, three sons; Émile (Edna) of Ste. Anne de Kent, Albert (Lucille) of St. Louis de Kent, Alvin (Annette) of Richibouctou-Village, eight grand children; Carole, Parise, Yves, Serge, Éric, Mathieu, Angèle and Michelle, three great grand children; Alexandre, Olivier, Antoine and many nieces and nephews.
Eymard was predeceased by his daughter Carmen (1999), half-sister Éva Richard, sister Rita Richard (2008), brother Adéodat (1989) and two young brothers.
Before retiring, Eymard was a fisherman for 38 seasons, co-owner of a restaurant/store in Richibouctou-Village and was a co-founder for the company “Village Bay Oyster”. He was a member of the Chevaliers de Colomb since 1988, member of the Richiboucto-Village Golden Age Club and a former director of the Richibouctou-Village Coop.
Resting at St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richiboucto-Village, with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9, Thursday from 2-4 and 6 until time of funeral. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 29th, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village with father Michel Mercier officiating. Internment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)

Helen Jane Stevenson
1917-2009
Bass River, NB - Helen Stevenson 91, of Bass River, NB passed away peacefully at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, NB on Tuesday, January 27th, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Born in Blackville, NB Helen was the daughter of the late Dennis & Nillie (Burns) Vickers. Helen was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church, Molus River and the Ladies Aid.
Helen will be sadly missed by her three sons; Lorne Ward (Elaine) of Moncton, NB, Darryl Ward (Sheila) of Calgary, Alberta, Gordon Ward (Sharon) of Bass River, NB, one sister Alice MacKenzie of Niagara Falls, seven grand children, 21 great grand children and 2 great great grand children, sister-in-law; Heather Vickers of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Helen was predeceased by her first husband Mac Ward, second husband William Stevenson, one sister; Lillian Bain, her two brothers; Vaughn and Burt Vickers.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Thursday from 2:30-4:00 and 7:00-9:00, Friday at noon until departure for the funeral. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30th, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the St. Stephen United Church, Molus River. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. If so desired donations to St. Stephen’s United Church, Molus River would be appreciated by the family (family flowers only please).

1942-2009
ELSIPOGTOG, NB - Anna Bella Peters 66, of Elsipogtog, NB passed away suddenly at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent. Born in Rexton she was the daughter of the late William and Josephine (Sark) Augustine.
Anna Bella will be sadly missed by her two daughters; Glenda Marie Peters of Moncton, Brenda Ann Peters of Elsipogtog, two sons; Herb Peters (Georgina) of Elsipogtog, Jerry Peters (Rosie) of Elsipogtog, nine grandchildren, two sisters; Mary Lou Bernard of Shubenacadie, NS, Genevieve Julian of Elsipogtog, two brothers; Albert Peter Paul of Red Bank, Gordon Julian (Rose Prosper) of Whycogomah, two half brothers; Eugene Augustine Sr. of Elsipogtog and Stuart Miller of Elsipogtog, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Abraham Peters (Bouncer), four sons; Roy Peters, Baby Joseph Peters, Reggie Peters, John Lee Peters and one brother Joseph Peter Augustine.
Resting at her daughter’s home, 70 Oak Street, Elsipogtog. A funeral Mass will be on Saturday, January 31st. 2009 at 10:30 AM, St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Elsipogtog. Internment in the parish cemetery. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)

Jonathan Cail
1915-2008
Bass River, NB - Jonathan Cail 93 of Bass River, NB passed away peacefully at the Lion’s Nursing Home, Rexton on Monday, December 15th, 2008. Born in Blind River, Ontario he was the son of the late Jonathan & Josephine (Marion) Cail. Before Jonathan retired he had worked as a woodsman. He attended St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard. Jonathan loved music and playing the guitar, accordion and the harmonica.
Jonathan will be sadly missed by his daughter Elsie Dargavel (George) of Nigadoo, his son Jonathan (Shirley) of Bass River, 5 grand children; Bruce, Bonnie, Lyle, Wanda & Jeremy, several great grand children, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Predeceased by his wife Grace (Roberts) Cail, 2 sisters; Alice & Ruby, 3 brothers; Wesley, Wallace & Leonard.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard on Wednesday, December 17th at 2:00 PM. Internment will follow in the parish cemetery.
