ST. LOUIS DE KENT, NB - Zoel Doucet, 67, of St. Louis de Kent passed suddenly on Saturday, April 25th, 2009. Born in Claire-Fontaine, he was the son of the late Edmond and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Doucet.
Survived by three sisters; Marie Richard (Claude) of Gardiner, MASS, Justine Cormier (Camille) of Canisto, Barbara Arsenault (Jean-Maurice) of Haute Aboujagane, three brothers; Adelard (Rosalie) of St. Louis de Kent, Yvon of Canisto, Roger of Edmonton, AB, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister; Roseanna.
Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9, Thursday at 9:00 AM until departure for funeral . A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 30th, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Louis des Francais Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis de Kent. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)

Jocelyne Tessier
1950-2009
ALDOUANE, NB - Jocelyne Tessier, 58, of Aldouane passed away at home on Sunday, June 14th, 2009. Born in Grand-Mère, Quebec she was the daughter of the late Arthur Chartrand and Gisèle Brouillette.
Jocelyne will be sadly missed by her husband; Martial Tessier, one daughter; Stéphanie Tessier, one son; Sébastien Tessier (Marie-Claude Bernard).
As per Jocelyne’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20th, 2009 at 3:30 pm at the Rexton Kingdom Hall, 167 Main Street, Rexton, NB, E4W 2A7. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)

Reverend John G. Pearce
1924-2009
Brown’s Yard, NB - Reverend John G. Pearce, Anglican Priest of Kent County, passed away at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Friday, June 5th, 2009 after a brief illness. Born November 23rd, 1924 in Montreal, QC, he was the son of the late Gilbert Henry and Edith Atwater (Scarff) Pearce. John will be sadly missed by his only brother, Brian (Cynthia) of Montreal, niece, Janet (Gregg) Corcoran and her children, Mark, Stephen, Christine and niece Cindy (André) Zylinski and her children, Courtney and Cameron. A WW 2 Veteran, John served with the Royal Canadian Navy aboard a Minesweeper. After his service with the Navy he entered Bishops College where he studied English and Philosophy and obtained his B.A. He finished in 1952 and was ordained on May 22, 1953 in Montreal. His first parish was St. Ignatius in Montreal, then to St. Colomba parish for 9 years and then on to Shawville, Qc. After that it was on to St. Peter’s Church, Ottawa for the next 17 years until his retirement in 1989. After his retirement he spent 2 ½ months In Kenya, then he was called to Nova Scotia and worked in a parish for 9 years, then spent time with the Church Army in Saint John. Reverend John Pearce then became Anglican Priest for the Parish of Kent, Diocese of Fredericton, where he was also Chaplain of Camp Medley, Instructor at St. Michael’s Youth Conference, Noted Author of Christian Bible Study and Devotional Materials and regular contributor to the Anglican Free Press.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 10th at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Harcourt, 9:30 to 11:30 am, St. John’s Anglican Church, Rexton, 2 to 4 pm, with evening prayers from 4pm to 4:30pm, St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard, 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 11th, 2009 at St. George’s Anglican Church, 51 Church Street, Moncton at 1 pm Interment at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Brown’s Yard with a reception to follow at the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul, s building Fund, St. Michael’s Youth Conference or Camp Medley would be appreciated. Note: If you wish to purchase any of Rev. Pearce’s Bible Study and Devotional Material please contact Mrs. Debra Ritchie at 855-5209. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).

Hélene Tremblay
1917-2009
St. Louis de Kent, NB – Hélene Tremblay, 92, of St. Louis de Kent, passed away peacefully at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Thursday, June 4th. Born in Caraquet, she was the daughter of the late Aimé and Emelie (Gionet) Ferron.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rita Tremblay, Marie-Louise (Ovila Doucette) both of St. Louis de Kent, Cecile Tremblay (Laurent Bourgeois) of Moncton, sons, Edmond (Yvonne) of St. Louis de Kent, Roger (Elodie) of Moncton, Normand (Sharon) of Saint John, Pierre (Sylvie) of Montreal, Jean (late Linda) of Montreal, her special friend, Rosimond Vautour, 15 grand children, 19 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Heléne was predeceased by her husband, Fidele Tremblay, 2 daughters, Noella, Thérèse, 1 son, Normand, 3 sisters, Délima Blanchard, Marie Tremblay, Arthemise Ferron and 3 brothers, Joe, Raphaél, Alex.
Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent with visitation Saturday from 7 to 9, Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Monday 2 pm until departure for funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis de Kent, Monday, June 8th, 2009 at 4 pm. Interment in the parish cemetery. Mary Celine McKie
1921-2009
MIRAMICHI, NB - It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Celine McKie on the 29th of May 2009 after a brave battle with colon cancer. Born on the 3rd of June 1921 in St. Louis de Kent, she was the daughter of the late Vital and Marie Rose (Guimond) Fontaine. She was also predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth James, a son Ray James and a daughter Hazel Constance (Thibodeau).
She spent most of her life as a devoted housewife and as a seamstress, initially in the private sector and then under contract with the Canadian Armed Forces. She also worked in other various jobs at the former base of Chatham.
She is survived by three sisters; Rosanne (Albert) Babineau of St. Louis de Kent, Margaret (Neil) Gosselin of Leominster, Massachusetts, USA and Domethilde Doucet of Richibucto. She is also survived by two brothers; Marcel (Stella) Fontaine of Little Aldouane and Germaine Fontaine of Rexton. In addition, two sons; Brian of Miramichi, Kevin (Darlene) of Fort McMurray, and a daughter; Adeline Richard of Richibucto.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at St. Michael’s Basilica in Chatham (Miramichi) at 9:00 am on the 5th of June, 2009. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto. In lieu of flowers, guests are requested to make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Minnie Fillmore
1924-2009
BEERSVILLE, NB - Minnie Fillmore, 84, of Beersville passed away at her residence on Friday, May 29th, 2009. Born in Beersville she was the daughter of the late William and Annabelle (Dunn) Glencross. Minnie was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, the Women’s Institute and Ladies Aid.
Minnie will be sadly missed by her husband; Carmen, one daughter; Darlene Mourant (Robert) of Jardineville, two sons; Edward (Debbie) of Beersville, Thomas (Gail) of Beersville, eight grand children; Karen, Trevor, Krista, Brad, Drew, Robbie (Bob), Sean, Jonathan and one great grand child; Kailyn, and several nieces and nephews.
The last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by three sisters; Mary Brown, Laura Robinson, Vera Beers, two brothers; Thomas Glencross and Charles Glencross.
Resting at St. James Presbyterian Church, Beersville with visitation on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31st. 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. James Presbyterian Church, Beersville. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)

Jennie Atkinson
1910-2009
REXTON, NB - Jennie Atkinson, 98, of Rexton passed away peacefully at the Lion’s Nursing Home, Rexton on Thursday, May 28th, 2009. Born in Mundleville she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara (MacWilliam) Atkinson. Jennie worked as a clerk for Emmerson Campbell General Store, Rexton and also worked for the Dept. of Transportation as an office clerk, Goosebay, Newfoundland for 25 years. Jennie enjoyed curling, badminton, bridge and spending winters in Florida for quite a few years.
Survived by one sister; Wilhelmina Lawson (late Bonar Lawson) of Rexton, and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by two sisters; Christina Gamble of Rumford, Maine and Annie Forster of Galloway.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 1st, 2009 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in St. Andrew’s United Cemetery, Rexton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s United Church, New Brunswick Alzheimer Association or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Gloria Robichaud
1948-2009
REXTON, NB - It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden death of Gloria Robichaud, 60, of Rexton on Friday, May 29th, 2009. Born in Rexton she was the daughter of George and Theresa (Caissie) Doucette and wife of the late Gerald Robichaud. Gloria was a kind and loving woman who always had time for anyone who needed her. She attended Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the C.W.L.
Gloria will be sadly missed by her two sons; Danny (Chantal) of Shediac, Gerald Jr. of Moncton, two sisters; Rose Marie Doucette of Moncton, Linda Thompson (Greg) of Richibucto, one brother; Bernard Doucette (Bernadine) of Lincoln, NB and several nieces & nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Gerald Robichaud (2006).
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9, Monday at 9:00 am until departure for funeral.
