At the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 22 2002, Mrs. Hazel Wilhelmina (Justason) Corey of Pocologan NB., wife of William Corey.
She is survived by her husband; three step daughters; Bessie O'Brien and Maxine Corey of Salisbury NB, and Marie Corey of Ontario; one step son; Rev Wallace Corey and wife Lynn of Saint John NB; one grandson; Wayne Barrett and wife Ailene of L'Etete NB; two great grandchildren; Brooke and Brandon; two sisters; Clara McLean of New River Beach and Louise, Mrs Arthur Gillmor of Bonny River; three brothers ;Maurice of Oromocto; Ernest of Pocologan and Murray of Black's Harbour and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Corey was predeceased by her first husband, Stuart Holt; one son Arthur Willis Holt ;three brothers; Alvin, Clarence and Lewis; four sisters; Irene, Viola, Amy and Doris.
Mrs. Corey was a loving sister and aunt who enjoyed knitting. She was a member of the Pocologan United Baptist Church, as well as the O.E.S Granite Chapter #15.as well as the Fundy Tide Seniors .
Resting at the St George Funeral Home, 26 Portage st St George NB.The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2PM from the Pennfield United Baptist Church with interment at the Oak Bay Community Cemetery in the spring.
Visiting hours at the funeral home on Saturday 7-9PM and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
Donations to the United Baptist Churches' of Pocologan and Pennfield and the Fundy Nursing Home or the Donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. An O.E.S. service will be held on Sunday at 7:30PM at the funeral home.(755-3533)

Janette Nadine Lord
Following a lengthy illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on May 15, 2002, Mrs. Janette Nadine Lord, wife of Thomas Lord of Calder’s Head, Deer Island, NB. Born in St. Stephen on May 2, 1962, she was the daughter of Sharon (Richardson) Hooper and the late George J. Noble.
A loving wife, mother, sister and daughter, Janette is survived by her husband; one daughter, Samantha; her mother, Sharon Hooper (Barry) of Lords Cove; step-father, Manning Richardson of Calder’s Head; one sister, Janet Ross (Russell) of Digby, NS; paternal grandmother, Marguerite Noble of Fairhaven; two nieces, Billie-Jo Duran, Kyara Lord; two nephews, Leigh and Spencer Lord, all of Deer Island; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father and two sisters, Valerie Lynn and Harriet Louise Richardson.
Janette was a homemaker and also worked as a packer at the Deer Island sardine factory. She loved to drive and enjoyed hunting. She was a fan of country music.
Resting at the Lords Cove Church of Christ from where the service will be held on Saturday at 2 PM. Interment at Calder’s Head Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes. Association would be appreciated by the family.

Mr. Leonard Joseph Blanchard
August 27, 1931 - July 31, 2002
Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 31, 2002, Mr. Leonard Joseph Blanchard, husband of Imelda Marie (Gallant) Blanchard of Pennfield, NB. Born on August 27, 1931, he was a son of the late Melem and Domine (Chevarie) Blanchard.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Leonard is survived by his wife; one daughter, Claudine (Glenn) Conley of Blacks Harbour; four sons, Camile (Carolyn) of Blacks Harbour, Clarence (Sheila), Clifford (Shirley) and Corey (Angie ) all of Pennfield, NB; seven grandchildren, Patricia, Jason, Nicole, Kristy, Cliff, Bradley and Jamie; two great grandchildren, Michael and Meranda; four brothers, Arsene (Janet), Melem (Iona), John (Rita) and Robert (Pam), all of Blacks Harbour; three sisters, Esther (Alfred) Pellerin, Freda Boudreau and Rosa (Don) Keen all of Rogersville, NB; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Leonard was predeceased by one grandson, Mike; six brothers, Joseph, Ovila, Theodore, Leo, Fidel and Armand, as well as one sister, Oliva.
Leonard was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, as well as camping and fishing. He had been employed by Connors Brothers for about 40 years prior to his retirement.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Blacks Harbour on Saturday, August 3rd at 9:30 AM followed by interment in the St. George Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. Visiting at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Vigil prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 PM. In Leonard’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Raymond Bedford Cook
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 22, 2002, Mr. Raymond Bedford Cook, in his 84th year, husband of Freda Marie (Arseneault) Cook of 103 Back Bay Loop Road, Back Bay., NB. Born in Back Bay on August 27, 1918, he was a son of the late David and Flossie (Harris) Cook. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife; three sons, Duane (Joan) of Letange, David (Donalda) and Stephen, both of Back Bay; five daughters, Arlene Johnson of St. Stephen, Anna Leavitt (Ron) of Letete, Patricia Norman (Robert) of Musquash, Jeannie Cook of Back Bay and Monica Aucoin of Saint John; one stepson, Dewey Michaud of Perth-Andover; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Carroll, Clyde and Hugh, all of Back Bay; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Clarence and Herbert.
Mr. Cook was a veteran of World War II having served overseas. He was employed by Connors Bros. as Captain of sardine carriers, as well as being a self-employed lobster fisherman. He was an avid sports fan.
Resting at Sea View Full Gospel church in Back Bay from where the service will be held on Thursday at 2 PM followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Legion Tribute will be conducted Wednesday at 7 PM. In his memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Heloise Maxine Frye
January 12, 1921 - August 1, 2002
Under the loving care of the staff at St. Joseph's Saint John, NB on August 1, 2002, Miss Heloise Maxine Frye formerly of Rothesay, NB.
Born in Back Bay, NB on January 12, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Pearl (French) Frye. She is survived by one brother, Taylor (Phyllis) of Utopia, NB; two sisters, Edith Jacobsen of St. Andrews, NB and Rowena Rae of Gondola Point, NB; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers; Fred, Neil, Millen, Donald, Roland and Carmon and three sisters, Edna Girling, Pearl Taylor and Lillian Grant.
Before her retirement, Heloise had been employed by G. E.Holder & Sons as a Bookkeeper for over 25 years. She had served with the Signal Corps in Ottawa for three years. She was a Past Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Rothesay. Heloise enjoyed gardening and reading. She loved animals, especially her cat.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery on Monday at 2 PM with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating. Memorial donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533).

Rosie Ella Elizabeth Hanley
Unexpectedly, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N. B. on August 6, 2002, Mrs. Rosie Ella Elizabeth (Leavitt) Hanley of Back Bay, wife of the late Delbert Roscoe Hanley. Born in Back Bay on April 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Trecil (Hooper) Leavitt. A loving mother and grandmother, Rosie is survived by two sons, Timothy (Beverly) of Mascarene and Dana (Cynthia Bryant) of Back Bay; one daughter, Julia (Russell) Douthwright of Saint John, NB; nine grandchildren: Amanda and Ashley Hanley; April and Joel Douthwright; Lacey, Brian and Dana Hanley; Katelyn and Kelsey Bryant; two great granddaughters, Karissa Douthwright and Ataya Neilson; three brothers, three sisters, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers.
Rosie, an avid CB’er was known as “Rosie on the Hill”. A housewife and mother, she devoted her time to her family. A recent member of Sea View Full Gospel Church, she also belonged to the Harbour Lights Seniors Club.
Resting at Sea View Full Gospel Church in Back Bay from where the service will be held on Friday at 2 PM followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the Church on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. In Rosie’s memory, donations to the ALS Society or Charlotte County Cancer would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533)

Bernice Clarke English
September 18, 1915 - July 25, 2002
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 25, 2002, Mrs. Bernice Clarke English of St. George, NB, wife of the late George Richard English. Born in Lambertville, Deer Island on September 18, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Archford and Ermine (Clarke) Greenlaw. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by one daughter, Rose (George) Guptill of St. George, NB; three grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Atkinson of Ottawa, Ontario; Rochelle Ward of Saint John and James (Corinne) of St. George; four great grandchildren; Mellissa, Elizabeth, Naomi and Jillian; one sister, Phyllis Butler of Deer Island; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Burdette.
In her younger days, Mrs. English worked as a sardine packer for H. W. Welch & Co. She loved her grandchildren whom referred to her as “Mama”. She was very active around the home. She was a member of the Lamberts Cove Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Rose and George Guptill, One Roy Jackson Street, St. George, NB on Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4 PM. A Memorial service will be held on August 16th at 2 PM from the Lamberts Cove Baptist Church with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the St. George Baptist Church or the Lamberts Cove Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
