MARGUERITE ODESSA HATT
Peacefully, following a brief illness, at Burlington, Ontario, on July 18, 2003, Mrs. Marguerite Odessa (Hennessey) Hatt, wife of the late Stanley Hatt, formerly of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born in Blacks Harbour, NB on July 24, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Myrtle (McDowell) Hennessey.
Marguerite is survived by two sisters, Ann (Ralph) Gavin of Burlington, Ontario, Mary (Delphis) Comeau of Oakville, Ontario; three brothers, Burton Hennessey (Helen) of Mirimichi, NB, John (Helen) Hennessey of Saint John, NB, and Eugene (Jackie) Hennessey of Barry, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by one sister, Bernice Seelye and one brother, Frederick Hennessey.
Marguerite was the co-owner of Stan Hatt’s Restaurant in Blacks Harbour for many years. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour on Wednesday at 11 am, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Visiting at the Funeral Home on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Vigil Prayer service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7 pm. In Marguerite’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Samuel Mitchell
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 30, 2003, Mr. Samuel Mitchell, husband of Erma (Leslie) Mitchell of Back Bay, NB.
Born in Back Bay on July 28, 1912, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ella (Leavitt) Mitchell. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Sam is survived, besides his wife, by two sons, Richard (Agatha) and Meldon (Laura), both of Back Bay; one daughter, Viola Mitchell, of Back Bay; one daughter-in-law, Jeanette Mitchell of Back Bay; four grandsons, Ian Troy (Beverly) Mitchell of Back Bay, Ryan (Tracy) Mitchell of Saint John, Leigh and Blair Mitchell, both of Back Bay; one granddaughter, Joelene Mitchell of Back Bay; two great grandchildren, Kerri and Ian Mitchell; one brother, Thomas Mitchell and friend Laura Mae Borthwick of Back Bay; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances Mitchell of Back Bay; one brother-in-law, Medford Holland of St. Stephen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by one son, Weldon Samuel Mitchell; one brother, Murchie Mitchell; two sisters, Avis Holland and Dana Walsh.
Resting at the Sea View Full Gospel Church, Back Bay, NB from where the service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Samuel’s memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of St. George Funeral Home, (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.

CLAYTON WILLIAM TATTON
Unexpectedly, at his residence in Pennfield, NB, on July 15, 2003, Mr. Clayton William Tatton.
Born in St. Stephen, NB on March 21, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Alice (Hutton) Tatton.
Clayton is survived by one uncle, Stanley (Marguerite) Spinney of Kelly Road and several cousins locally, in western Canada and USA. He was pre-deceased by one sister, Helen.
Clayton was an avid hunter, fisherman and crib player. He enjoyed wood carving and was a local folk artist. He was the volunteer "Rainfall Data Monitor" for Eastern Charlotte Waterways for many years. He worked as grounds keeper for New River Beach Provincial Park and was custodian with the RCMP in St. George, NB. For many years he had been the area weather recorder for Environment Canada, and was a hunting and fishing guide.
At his request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2003 at Christ Church (Anglican) Pennfield at 2 pm with Canon David Genge officiating, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Following the committal, a reception will be held at Smith's Restaurant, Pennfield Ridge where he was made at home. In his memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

MILDRED CATHLEEN BOYD
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Saint John, NB, on August 19, 2003, Mrs. Mildred Cathleen (Campbell) Boyd, aged 88, wife of the late Leighton R. Boyd, of Pocologan, NB.
Born in Digby, NS on February 5, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Edward C. and Stella Rosnell (Dickson) Campbell. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Millie is survived by two daughters, Eileen Babineau (Leon) of Pocologan, NB and Mary Graham of Saint John, NB; one son, Terry Boyd (Laurie) of Second Falls, NB; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; three sisters, Annie Hardy of Saint John, NB, Marion Boyd of Pennfield, NB and Kathleen Campbell of Pocologan, NB. She was pre-deceased by one son, Leonard L. Boyd and one daughter, Margaret Rose Ryan; five brothers and eight sisters which included, most recently, Eva Bright..
Before her retirement, Millie was employed by the Shaw Ellis Clam Factory. She loved her family and friends, and enjoyed spending time sewing and quilting. In her latter years, she enjoyed watching the ladies in the Friendly Circle Quilting Club.
Resting at the Pocologan Baptist Church from where the service will be held on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating, followed by interment in Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. In Millie’s memory, donations to Charlotte County Cancer Society or charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533).

Gregory Thomas Darke
1947-2007
Unexpectedly at his residence on Deer Island on January 4, 2007, Mr. Gregory Thomas Darke, beloved husband of Barbara Ann (Calder) Darke of Lambertville NB. Born at Eastport ME. On June 15, 1947 he was a son of Alice (Adams)(Darke) Mcvicar and the late William Darke. A loving husband, father, son and brother he is survived besides his wife Barb, by one daughter: Victoria (Evan) Smith of Fredericton NB, mother Alice (Milton) McVicar of Bonny River NB, One brother: Allison Darke of Lambertville NB, two sisters: Elizabeth Darke of Lambertville NB and Donna (Russ) Crosby of Fredericton NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Greg was employed by the Department of Transportation as a deck hand on the Deer Island Ferries for a number of years. At one time he was a supply teacher teaching at both Deer Island and St. George. He also was a Vietnam Veteran serving a tour of duty in Vietnam in the late 1960’s with the U.S Marine Corps as well as Midway Island. Greg also was active in his community serving as a firefighter with the Deer Island Fire Department and a member of the Church of Christ in Lords Cove. Greg also was a Shriner and a member of the Abanaki Lodge #55 F & AM as well as the O.E.S Granite Chapter # 15 in St. George.
Although there will be no visiting, there will be a Masonic and O.E.S tribute service at the St. George Funeral Home on Monday beginning at 7:00 PM. A Graveside service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery on Deer Island on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Glen Cox officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Kidney Foundation or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Larry Allan Goss
1944-2007
Larry Allan Goss At the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness, Larry Allan Goss of Hampton passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007. Born in Saint John on March 20, 1944, Larry was the son of Eileen (Craig) (Goss) McLellan and the late Arlington Goss. He is survived by his mother and step-father (Fred McLellan) of St. Stephen, two daughters, Ashley and Andrea of Hampton, one son John of New Minas, NS, sister Sandra Christen of Edmonton Alta., two brothers, Gerald of Boston, Mass., Glenn of Fredericton, best friend to the very end and “chosen” brother Ray McGraw of Saint John, three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Larry was a lifelong fan of the outdoors, loving hunting, fishing, boating and camping especially around his hometown area of St George and Bonny River. He had worked for the St. George Funeral Home, Rubin’s Clothing Store, The Capital Movie Theatre, Lake Utopia Paper Mill, Memorial Gardens in Moncton and Ocean View Memorial Gardens in Saint John, NB Power and the Department of Justice throughout his working career.
Family will receive friends at the St. George Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, from where the funeral service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2007. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Canadian Diabetes. Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the St. George Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB

Lawrence Warren Sherwood
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on January 9, 2007, Mr. Lawrence Warren Sherwood of Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB and formerly of Bonny River, NB. Born at Second Falls, on June 30, 1915, Lawrence was the son of the late Manford and Josephine (Campbell) Sherwood. He is survived by one sister Norma (James) Kinney of Bonny River and five nieces and several cousins.
Lawrence worked most of his life as a woodsman and farmer. Prior to entering the Fundy Nursing Home, he could be seen spending many a day at the St. George Mall talking with many friends he had there.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm from the Second Falls Baptist Church in Second Falls, with Rev. Wayne Culberson officiating, followed by interment in the Second Falls Community Cemetery. In Lawrence’s memory donations made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
