Joseph Francis Bradford Sr.
1933-2007
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on January 20, 2007, Mr. Joseph Francis Bradford Sr., husband of Ruby (Zwicker) Bradford of Pennfield, NB. Born in Blacks Harbour, NB on December 11, 1933, Joseph was a son of the late Walter and Margaret (Donahue) Bradford. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his wife Ruby, two sons; Joseph Bradford Jr. and Barry Bradford both of Blacks Harbour, two daughters; Trudy (Evans) Mailett of Pennfield, Stephanie (Darren) Pardy of Renforth, NB, seven grandchildren
; Joey, Jordon, Bradley, Necia, Darren, Taylor and Sandy, one brother; Grovener (Caroline) Bradford of Fredericton, NB, one sister; Lola Milbury of Toronto, ON, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by one son; Roderick John Bradford, one grandson; Roderick G. Bradford, five brothers; Walter, Marnie, Raymond, Vincent and Windsor, four sisters; Cavell, Jacqueline, Nellie and Sharon.
Prior to his retirement, Joey worked for Connors Brothers for 45 years as a Shipper/Receiver in the warehouse division as well as a foreman. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and also loved music, especially by his favourite performer Willie Nelson. Joey was a devoted family man who loved his family very much from his immediate to his large extended family. He was a member of the Apostolic Mission in Pennfield, NB.
Resting at the Apostolic Mission, Pennfield NB, with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wade Bradford officiating, assisted by Pastor Reginald Ferris and Pastor Gordon Cooke. Interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery
in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage St. St. George NB.
John Robert Shelton
Unexpectedly at his residence on January 23, 2007, Mr. John Robert Shelton, husband of Mollie Irene (Green) Shelton of St. George, NB. Born in Ingersoll, ON he was a son of the late John and Helen (MacLagan) Shelton. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, John is survived by his wife; Mollie, four sons; John Jr. (Jessie) of Halifax NS, David (Renata) of Annapolis MD, Thomas (Jana) of Oak Bay NB and Gary Shelton of Dartmouth NS, three daughters; Judy Shelton of Chilliwack BC, Joanne (Gerry) Flagg of Grand Manan NB, and Lori (Mike) Shelton-Krewski of Ottawa ON, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one sister; Janet Russell of Pocologan NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; John and Helen and by two brothers; Gordon and James.
Known as Dick in the local community, he was a well known and respected man. Dick was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Canadian Navy for 30 years. After leaving the Navy he began work at the Saint John Shipbuilding until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of; St. George Lodge #12, Past Master Mananook Lodge #38 on Grand Manan, Past District Deputy Grand Master District #5, Past First Principal of Carleton Royal Arch Chapter #1 in Saint John, Past Masters Unit, Luxor Temple and Saint John Shrine Club and Charlotte County Shrine Club, Council of the Holy Order of High Priesthood of NB, Preceptor of St. Stephen Preceptory #115a, St. Stephen Chapter #6, Royal Arch Masons, Past Masters Association Districts 2 & 5 of Calais ME, Granite Chapter #15, Order of the Easter Star, in St. George, Past Vice President Royal Canadian Legion on Grand Manan Island and also a member of the St. Croix Branch #9 RCL St. Stephen NB.
A Masonic and Eastern Star Service will be held at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage St. St. George NB, on Friday at 6:30 and 6:45 pm respectively, from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel. Visiting will be held directly following the services from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the chapel on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Lorne MacLeod officiating. Interment will take place at North Head Cemetery
on Grand Manan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory to the Shriner’s Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
Leslie Carl Oagles
1926-2007
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, on February 12th, 2007, Mr. Leslie Carl Oagles, husband of Mary Elvira (Scott) Oagles of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born in Massachusetts on May 10th, 1926, he was a son of the late James and Adelia (Nason) Oagles. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother he is survived by his loving wife Mary, three step daughters; Louise (Guy) McLaughlin of Blacks Harbour, Helen (Doug) Robbillard of Ottawa, ON., Erma Hanninton of Honeydale, one stepson Calvin Scott of St. Stephen, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, one brother; Russell (Rose) Oagles of Florida, one sister in law; Beverly Oagels of Saint John NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leslie was predeceased by his first wife Clara Oagles, a daughter Nancy, 2 step daughters; Barbara Thorne and Judy Ayotte, three brothers; Warren, Jim and George and a sister, Muriel Oagles.
In his earlier years, Leslie drove tractor trailer in Ontario and following became a Pentecostal Minister and Evangelist and served the Lord for 40 years. He loved and played music and was a member of the Apostolic Mission Church in Pennfield, NB. Leslie was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Merchant Marine Navy.

in the Spring. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute will be held at the church on Wednesday at 7 pm. Visiting at the church on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Dennis Alexander Comeau
1930-2007
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on February 13, 2007, Mr. Dennis Alexander Comeau, husband of Noreen (Richard) Comeau of Pennfield, NB. Born in Yarmouth, NS on May 27th, 1930, Dennis was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Comeau) Robichaud. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother he is survived besides his wife Noreen by, six sons; Raymond of Pennfield, Brian (Gail) of Fort McMurray AB, Michael of Pennfield, John (Faith) of Sylvan Lake AB, Dale (Sherry) of Bloomfield NB and Gordon (Michelle) of Back Bay NB, three daughters; Faith Comeau of St. John NB, Susan and Carolyn Comeau both of Pennfield, 16 grandchildren including Dennis’ little buddy, Alexander, five great grandchildren, one sister; Gussie (Eddie) Derhak of Dover Foxcroft ME, two brothers; Joseph (Jean) of Hebron NS and John (Ruth) of Halifax NS, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers; Raymond and Jimmy.
Prior to his retirement, Dennis had been employed by Connor’s Bros. Limited for 45 years as an electrician. He was an avid sports fan and was a former member of the Brunswick Curling Club of Blacks Harbour. He enjoyed baseball and hockey and was an avid dart player and a dedicated family man.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage St. St. George NB, with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour NB, on Saturday at 10:30 am. Interment will take place in the church cemetery in the spring. In Dennis’ memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, The Canadian Liver Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Eastman Watters Foster
1926-2007
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 18, 2007, Mr. Eastman Watters Foster, husband of Mrs. Bertha Jean (MacDonald) Foster of Blacks Harbour NB. Born on Grand Manan Island NB, on March 26, 1926 he was a son of Prince and Fleda (Ingersoll) Foster. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother he is survived by his loving wife, Bertha; one son, Rev. Gary Foster of Waterloo, ON; one grandson, Christopher Foster of Fort McMurray AB, two great granddaughters, Jamie and Nicole Foster of Seeyles Cove; one brother, Edward (Marie) Tidd of Elliot Lake, ON; one sister, Marietta (Bud) Wormell of Blacks Harbour and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Eastman was predeceased by one son, Maynard; one brother, Ellis Foster and one half brother, Sherwood Tidd.
Prior to his retirement, Eastman worked with Connor’s Bros. for 50 years. He loved fishing and the water and attended the Wesleyan Church in Blacks Harbour.

Floyd Franklin Hawkins
1921-2007
Unexpectedly, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 19, 2007, Mr. Floyd Franklin Hawkins, husband of Kathleen (Flagg) Hawkins of Beaver Harbour, NB. Born in Beaver Harbour on September 3, 1921, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lena (Dickson) Hawkins. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother he is survived by his loving wife Kay, three sons; Colin of Ottawa ON, D. Kevin (Kerrie) of Blacks Harbour NB and Daniel of Grand Manan NB, three daughters; Ruby (Bill) Scott of Halifax NS, Coralie (George) Losier of Saint John NB and Sally (Tony) Nabuurs of Beaver Harbour, one daughter in law; Darlene Hawkins of Pennfield, 11 grandchildren; Neil (Mary) Hawkins, Sean Hawkins, Katie (Dave) Valiquette, Suzanne Hawkins, Robert Scott, Andrea (Wayne) Tomason, Sarah English, Zachary and Stephanie Nabuurs, Lindsay and Sarah Hawkins, 8 great grandchildren; Tyler and Jonathan Hawkins, Spencer, D. Tyler and Lacey Hawkins, Kathleen and Joshua Thompson and Maria Valiquette, two sisters; Gladys Stewart and Lila Wright both of Sudbury ON, one brother; James (Florence) Hawkins of Beaver Harbour, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sons, Rodney and Derwyn and by one brother Malcolm.
Floyd was born a man of the sea and a Sea Captain for many years. Remembered fondly as skipper of the W.A. Moore. In his early years he worked in the fishery until he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War. The first ship he was assigned to was the HMCS ACHATES which was sunk only ten days after he began his service off the coast of England. He then was assigned to the HMCS HAIDA full time, until the end of the war. After returning home to Beaver Harbour he again made his living on the Bay of Fundy, fishing Lobster and Ground Fish. He was also a dedicated Weir fisherman. Floyd was well known and well respected and an advocate for the Maritime Fisheries.
The family will receive friends at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage St, St. George NB, on Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm. The service will be held at Christ Church (Anglican) Pennfield NB on Thursday at 2:00 pm followed by interment in the Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Fundy Nursing Home in memory of Floyd.
Sharon Ann Mullen
Unexpectedly, at her residence in L’Etete NB on February 27, 2007, Mrs. Sharon Ann (Wright) Mullen, wife of the Rev. Giles Mullen of L’Etete NB. Born in Digby NS on April 30, 1956, she was a daughter of Jesse and Georgina (Duran) Wright. A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and grandmother she is survived besides her husband Giles by, her parents; Jesse and Georgina of Weaver Settlement, NS, three sons; Troy Stone of Sydenham ON, Derek (Shannon Mullen) Stone of Easton NS, Rodney (Denise Mullen) of Southville NS, two daughters; Jeannie (Kelly) Mullen of Hasset NS, Georgina Stone (Joey Blanchard) of Coberrie NS, 12 grandchildren, 4 brothers; Harry (Glenda) Wright and Raymond (Wendy) Wright both of Weaver Settlement NS, Wayne (Claudette) Wright of Havlock NS and Aaron (Sandra) Wright of Weymouth NS, four sisters; Joanne (Jeff) Mullen of Weaver Settlement, Cindy (Thomas) of Ontario, Melanie Wright of Weymouth NS and Amanda (Danny) Hill of Hilltown NS, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sharon was predeceased by one brother, Kevin Wright.
Sharon was a loving and devoted pastor’s wife. She was involved in various church and Ladies Missionary Groups. She assisted her husband in his various pastoral duties and was known to be very active and involved in various charitable causes over the years. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Merle Zimmerman and Rev. Tom Marshall officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
