Madeline Averil Scott
Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on March 27, 2007, Mrs. Madeline Averil (McLaughlin) Scott wife of the late Melvin Roy Scott. Born in Honeydale NB on May 1, 1920 she was a daughter of the late Harold and Nettie (Scott) McLaughlin. A loving mother, grandmother and sister she is survived by three sons; Eric (Emely) of Pennfield NB, Brian of Fredericton NB, James (Mary) of Blacks Harbour, three daughters; Melva Murray of Blacks Harbour, Brenda (Malcolm) Tucker of Pennfield and Juliette Scott of St. Stephen NB, 11 Grandchildren, 26 Great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, 4 brothers; Burns, Charles, Neil and Vance, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Melvin, she was predeceased by 4 sons; Claude, Stephen, Allan and Larry, one grandson, Peter Scott, 2 brothers; Adrian and Victor, two sisters; Pearl Merchant and Jenny Hayes.
Maddie worked as a Nurse’s Aid in the health care profession for a number of years. Finding work at both the Fundy Hospital and Collingwood Nursing Home. Following her career in the medical field she went to work for Connor’s Bros. until her retirement. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and enjoyed quilting and seamstress work.
Resting at the United Pentecostal Church in Blacks Harbour NB from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm followed by interment in the Blacks Harbour Community Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Maddie’s memory donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB.

Kinsbur John Leavitt
1906-2007
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on April 4th, 2007, Mr. Kinsbur John Leavitt in his 101st year, of Back Bay, NB. Born in Back Bay on September 8th, 1906, he was a son of the late John and Sara Leila (Harris) Leavitt. A loving brother, he is survived by one brother, Octive of Geary NB, one sister, Bessie Hanley of Back Bay, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers; Melvin, Otis and Basil, two sisters; Martha Leavitt and Ethel Wilcox.
Kinsbur was a fisherman for many years and was also employed by Connor’s Bros in Back Bay. He was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed meeting new people, as he loved to socialize.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. Interment will be in the Back Bay Cemetery at Leavitt’s Head at a later date. Visiting at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Kinsbur’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Mary Ellen (Nellie) (Frost) Lee
1909-2007
It is with great sadness, the family of Mary Ellen (Nellie) (Frost) Lee, of Ridgeview manor, Pennfield NB, and formerly of Second Falls NB and wife of the late Roland Wynn Lee, announce her going home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 8, 2007. Born in Second Falls NB on June 8th 1909, she was the daughter of the late Gorham and Mary (Kinney) Frost.
She is survived by her daughter, Lois (John) Goss, daughter in law, Dorothy Lee, sister, Berla Campbell, brother, Merlin Frost, sister in law, Freda Craig, grandchildren; Patricia (Wayne) Negus, Jane (Brian) Hatt, Debra (Fouad) Elerksaucey, John Goss Jr., Gregory (Brenda) Lee, Anna (Michael) Sauliner, Dorothy (Stephen) MacVicar, Rose (Colin Hatt) Lee, and Travis Hall, 13 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband, Nellie was predeceased by a son, Forrest Lee, infant daughter, Mary Ellen Lee, grandson, Daniel Lee, brothers; Hazen and Douglas and a sister Doris.
Nellie was a loving mother and grandmother, and had been a homemaker all her life. She quilted as well as knitting, crochet and tatted for her family for many years. She attended the Margaret MacRae Memorial Church in Second Falls.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Tuesday at 2 pm followed by interment in the Second Falls Baptist Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Nellie’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Flora “Rosie” (Kernighan) Norman
Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on April 13th, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, Flora “Rosie” (Kernighan) Norman, of St. George went home to be with her Lord. Born in St. George on March 29th, 1915, Rosie was the wife of the late Darrell Eugene Norman. She was a daughter of the late John and Cora (Leavitt) Kernighan. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Rosie is survived by seven daughters; Clara (Keith) McDowell, Myrtle (Jack) Berdan, Betty (Lewis) Diamond, Frances (Gordon) Embree, Shirley (Pete) LeBlanc, Valrea Norman (Peter Jablonowski) and Debbie (Dean) Dick, five sons; John (Mary), Ross (Joan), Glenn (Charlotte), Charles (Claudette) and Brian (Donna) Norman, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosie was predeceased by her husband Darrell, a son, Darrell “Jackie”, two brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.
Known for her kind and gentle smile and the “twinkle in her eye, ” Mama (Grammie) was loved by all who knew her. At Grammie’s all the children found her love and any kind of cookie. Grammie’s life was anchored in her love for her Lord and her Church. Rosie was a life long member of the Cornerstone Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in St. George NB. She spent many hours of her free time gardening, which she loved to do so much.
Resting at the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church, St. George NB on Sunday April 15th and Monday April 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday April 17th at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Calvin MacDonald and Rev. Vernon Bustard officiating. Interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Rosie’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Gerald Edward Grearson
1924-2007
Peacefully at his residence, St. George NB on April 17th, 2007, Mr. Gerald Edward Grearson husband of Anita (Spinney) Grearson of St. George NB. Born Saint John NB on December 1st, 1924 he was the son of the late Herbert “Raymond” and Eola Ann (Hoyt) Grearson. A loving husband of 59 years, father and grandfather he is survived by his wife Anita, one daughter Judith (Donald) Breau, two grandchildren; Danielle Breau and Gil Breau (Michelle Coburn) all of St. George. Predeceased besides his parents by one great granddaughter, Morgan Marie.
Gerald was a carpenter by trade and had worked for various employers as well as being self employed for a number of years. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot. Known for his love of carpentry work and wood working, his family own many treasures to cherish in which he built. He was an avid reader who also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. Gerald also had a passion for photography who enjoyed taking pictures as well as developing his own photos. He also enjoyed canoeing and loved the outdoors. Gerald was a life long member of the St. George Baptist Church.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St George NB, with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. The service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am, from the St. George Baptist Church, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George following the interment. In Gerald’s memory donations to the St. George Baptist Church or St. Mark’s Anglican Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Vinton Everett Wilcox
1932-2007
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 22, 2007, Mr. Vinton Everett Wilcox husband of Mrs. Leona (Robichaud) Wilcox of Utopia NB. Born in Wood Island, Grand Manan NB on February 13th, 1932, he was a son of the late Cecil and Ona (Benson) Wilcox. A loving husband, father grandfather and brother, besides his wife he is survived by six sons; Michael (Suzanne) of Pennfield NB, Robert (Angie) of Geary NB, Stephen Wilcox of Utopia, James (Rita) and Daniel (Patricia) both of Pennfield and David (Joyce) of Wainwright AB, one daughter; Peggy (Roger) McLaughlin of Saint John NB, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, three brothers; Roger (Lois) of Utopia, Gerald (Marcia) of Saint John, Lloyd (Debbie) of Lincoln NB, two sisters; Mary (John) Thorne of Saint John and Rose Wilcox (Roland Chater) of Utopia, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Ernie Wilcox.
Vinton served with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Crewman for 23 years. He was stationed at Borden, Petawawa and Gagetown. In 1964 he served a peace keeping tour in Cyprus. Both before and after his military career, Vinton also was a fisherman. He enjoyed reading, who loved westerns and war history. Vinton also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held, from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating, followed by interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 40 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. In Vinton’s memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Marion Evelyn (Weaver) Harvie
1929-2007
Marion Evelyn (Weaver) Harvie passed away at her residence in St. George NB on May 1, 2007 at the age of 77. Born in Doaktown NB, on October 19, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Perley and Helen (Donald) Weaver. Marion was the wife of the late Murray Dakin Harvie. She is survived by daughters; Shirley (Wayne) Arbour, Brenda Blinn and Patty Hooper, a son, Richard (Kathy) Harvie, six grandchildren, Eric, Lindsay, Shannon, Cortney, Dakin and Hillary, one great grandchild, Ethan, one step daughter, Caryl and step granddaughter Denyse, brothers; Donnie, Norris, Ivan, Gerald and Lyman, sisters; Olive and Carol, many nieces and nephews. In addition her loving husband Murray, she was predeceased by her brother Archie and sister Eva.
Marion was a long standing member of the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, Beaver Harbour NB as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 39 Auxilliary. She was a devoted member of the OES Granite Chapter # 15 of the Eastern Star, as well as a former member of the Rebekkah Lodge of Aurora ON. Marion touched the lives of anyone she met; she was giving, unselfish and caring. She will always be remembered with love and fond memories by many, many friends.
Resting at the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm followed by interment in the Beaver Harbour Community Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 7-9 pm. The Granite Chapter #15 of the OES will conduct a tribute service at the church on Thursday at 6:00 pm followed by an Auxilliary Service from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39. Following the interment all are invited to the church for a time of fellowship. In Marion’s memory donations to the NB Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Grace Lottie Henry
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital on March 27, 2007, Mrs. Grace Lottie (Cook) Henry wife of the late Thomas Edward Henry, of Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen NB and formerly of St. George NB. Born in Back Bay NB on June 1, 1902 she was the daughter of the late Addison and Alice (Cook) Leavitt. A loving grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Grace is survived by one daughter; Patsy Canwel of Edmonton AB, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister; Irene (Manford) Cook of Back Bay NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas, her children; Blanche (Weldon) Paul, Eunice (Fred) Boone, Reecie (Frank) Smith, step daughters; Bessie (Jack) Armstrong, Mary (Jack) Brown and Phyllis (Henry) McGrattan.
