William John Hazen Stevens
1985-2008
Unexpectedly at his residence on January 1st, 2008, Mr. William John Hazen Stevens of Canal NB. Born in St. Stephen NB on November 6, 1985, he was the son of John Stevens of Canal and Jane (Frost) Stevens of Fredericton NB. A loving son, brother, uncle and grandson he is survived by his father, John Stevens (Beth), his mother, Jane Stevens (Bev Beach), two sisters; April Stevens of Second Falls NB and Sarah Stevens (Russell Williams) of Canal, paternal grandmother, Elizabteh Stevens of Canal, one nephew Jonathan Stevens, two nieces; Janessa Clark and Josie Williams, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William Stevens, and maternal grandparents Hazen and Alda Frost.
Billy was an avid sportsman who enjoyed weight lifting and swimming as well as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm from the Seaview Full Gospel Church in Back Bay NB with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. The Interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Billy’s memory donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Charlotte County Cancer or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Mamie Muriel Bennett
1927-2008
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a brief illness, on January 3rd, 2008, Mrs. Mamie Muriel (Butler) Bennett, wife of Mr. Harry Mark Bennett of Back Bay NB. Born at Deer Island on February 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Queenie (Conley).
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Mamie is survived by her husband Harry, one daughter; Daphne (Peter) Scott of Oven Head NB, two grandson; Christopher (Amanda) Scott of St. Stephen NB and Peter Jr. Scott (Tammy Williams) of Back Bay, great grandchildren; Austin, Phillip, Vanessa, Abigail Robyn, Madeline Bree and Paige, one sister; Marie (Keith) Stewart of Lambertville NB and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mamie was a very loving woman. Her most joyous times were when she was taking care of her grandsons, and the trips to McDonalds. She was an avid Bingo player who also loved caring for her cats. Mamie was a member of the Eastern Charlotte Lions Club.
At Mamie’s request there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating. The Interment will take place at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery on Deer Island. In Mamie’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, Canadian Liver Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB.

Blair Simpson Lambert
1913-2008
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB, on January 4th, 2008, Mr. Blair Simpson Lambert, husband of the late Mrs. Avis (Conley) Lambert of Deer Island NB. Born at Deer Island on December 20, 1913, he was a son of the late Edward and Bess Lambert.
A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by three daughters; Andrea Lambert (Doug Waite) of St. George NB, Lana (Greg) Eaton of Ajax ON and Cheryl Lambert and her fiancee Ralph Ahner of Deer Island, five grandchildren; Cara Richardson, Shelly (Tony) Henry, Lana (Glenn) Hawkins, Joanna (Jonathan) Thompson and Matthew Eaton, five great grandchildren; Brandon Henry, Justin Henry, Blair Hawkins, Connor Hawkins and Hannah Thompson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Blair was enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and served overseas during World War II. He loved life and being in the company of others. He was a member of the Lambertville Baptist Church, the Abnaki Lodge # 55 in Lambertville and was a great supporter of all events that took place on Deer Island. Prior to his retirement Blair was empolyed as a fisheries officer for many years. He will be missed greatly by his local community.
Resting at the Lambertville Baptist Church from where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. John Martin officiating. The interment will take place following the service at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Blair’s memory donations to the CNIB or to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Malcolm Andrew Ross
1938-2008
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on January 10, 2008, Mr. Malcolm Andrew Ross, husband of Mrs. Reta Clara (Harris) Ross of Upper L’Etang NB. Born in Toronto ON on November 10, 1938 he was a son of the late Malcolm and Clarissa (Burgie) Ross.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Malcolm is survived by his wife Reta, two daughters; Clara Wilcox (Bill) of Upper L’Etang and Angela (Wade) Harris of Canal NB, one son; Brian (Gael) Ross of Hamilton ON, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three sisters; Maryann Cameron, Bev Smith (James) and Brenda (Tony) Buragina all of London ON, one daughter in law; Paula Ross of Owen Sound ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Greg and by two brother in laws; James Smith and William Cameron.
Malcolm served with the Royal Canadian Army and was stationed at both Utopia NB and Gagetown NB. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved to fish. He also enjoyed a good game of darts. Malcolm was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 39 in Blacks Harbour NB.
Although a funeral service will not be held, the family will receive friends at the St George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage St, St George NB., on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service at 7p.m at the funeral home. In Malcolm's memory donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Kathleen (Kay) Edna Campbell
1924-2008
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on January 11, 2008, Miss Kathleen Edna Campbell passed away following a period of failing health. Born in Pocologan NB on July 24th, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Edward and Stella (Dixon) Campbell. A loving sister and aunt she is survived by one sister, Marion Boyd of Pennfield NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by three brothers; Burpee, Edward and Walter and nine sisters; Minnie, Edna, Ethel, Mildred, Annie, Eva, Mabel, Hazel and Stella
Kay was a lifelong resident of Pocologan and worked for various employers including Shaw & Ellis Clam Factory and Connor’s Bros. She will be best remembered as being a fabulous cook.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating. The interment will be held at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the funeral home on Sunday from 7-9 pm and on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Maxine Louise Young
1936-2008
It is with great sadness that the Young family announces the sudden and unexpected death of Maxine Louise Young of Deer Island, NB, which occurred at the Saint john regional Hospital on January 11th. Born at Lubec ME on December 20, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Ferne (Lord) Richardson, wife of Raymond Stanford Young of Hibernia Cove, Deer Island.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister Maxine is survived by her husband, Raymond, three daughters: Faye (Harold) Doughty of Leonardville NB, Teresa (Cecil) Richardson of Fairhaven NB and Joan (Mark) Thompson of Fredericton NB, four sons: Allison (Heather) Young of Lamberts Cove NB, Mark Young (Sue Beaman) of Hibernia Cove NB, Brian (Karen) Young of Lords Cove NB and Ralph Young (Lisa Miner) of Lords Cove NB, 16 grandchildren: Jason, Melanie (Reid), Hillarie (Charlie), Jim, Tristen, Maria (Kevin), Devon (Jessica), Brittany (Jeremy), Dustin (Manda), Sarah, Sabrina, Tabatha, Sheena, Ryan (Sarah) Ashton (Adam) and Spencer, three great grandchildren: Logan, Jaiden and Lincoln, two sisters: Catherine (Don) Stuart of Richardson NB and Eleanor Thurber of Fredericton NB, one brother, Dale (Lacy) Richardson of St. Stephen NB, mother in law, Mildred Young, brother in law, Gary Young (Susan Lambert) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by one sister, Norinne Miner, one brother, Dean Richardson and two great grandchildren, Bodhi and Payton.
Maxine loved gardening, feeding the birds, playing the piano and listening to her favourite Christian radio programs, Bible. She enjoyed taking morning walks and was dedicated to lovingly caring for her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lords Cove. She will always be remembered by family and those who knew her, as a generous and giving person who always took time to be there for others.
Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, from where the service will be held on Monday at 2:00 with the Rev. Joel Bridges and Rev. Conrad Cline officiating. Interment to follow at the Leonardville Community Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Harriet Lord (Adams) Fountain
1913-2008
Unexpectedly at her residence in Lord’s Cove, Deer Island, NB, on January 15th, 2008, Mrs. Harriet Lord (Adams) Fountain, wife of the late Randolf Fountain. Born in Lord’s Cove NB on December 3rd, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Lord) Fountain. A loving aunt, great aunt and friend she is survived by one nephew; Dale (Vera) Waycott of Lord’s Cove, two great nieces; Patty (Sheldon) Conley and Kelly (Brian) Barteau both of Lord’s Cove, one great nephew; Jeffrey (Loretta) Waycott of Saint John NB, three great great nephews; Jessie Barteau, Tyler and Ian Conley, two great nieces, Brooke and Courtney Waycott, one great great great niece, Abigail Waycott. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son, Allison Fountain and one sister Mary Waycott.
Harriet was a school teacher for many years on Deer Island and also served as Post Mistress in Lord’s Cove. She was an avid gardener who loved the birds. She was a member of the Lord’s Cove Church of Christ where she was also an organist for many years.
Resting at the Lord’s Cove Church of Christ from where the service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Murray Spencer officiating. The interment will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery on Deer Island. Visiting at the church will take place on Friday from 7-9 pm. In Harriet’s memory, donations to the Lord’s Cove Church of Christ or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB
