Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on April 30, 2009, Mrs. Genevieve Journay Sellars, wife of the late Raymond E. Sellars of Pennfield NB. Born at Leonardville, Deer Island NB on April 10, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William and Euda-Villa (Wallace) Conley. A loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister in law, she is survived by two daughters; Villa Viola (Myles) Currie of Rothesay NB and Pauline (Richard) Stewart of Pennfield, one grandson, Christopher Scott and his companion Crystal of Saint John NB, great granddaughter, Chelsey, special niece, Aldora Sellars of Pennfield, four sisters in law; Sophy Conley of Hampton NB, Mabel Conley of St. Stephen NB, Muriel Conley of Saint John, and Fannie Conley of Burtts Corner NB, one brother in law, George Bostwick of Deer Island NB as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband Raymond, she was predeceased by six sisters and five brothers.
Genevieve had worked for Connors Bros. for over 35 years as a hand labeller until her retirement. She was an avid Bingo player and loved music, knitting and reading, especially the Courier.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Sunday at 3:30 pm with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating, followed by interment at the Christ Church (Anglican) Cemetery at Pennfield NB. Visiting at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Genevieve’s memory donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Pamela Ann Palk
1943-2009
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 5, 2009, Mrs. Pamela Ann Palk of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at St. Stephen NB on June 5, 1943, she was a daughter of Thelma T. Cook. A loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, she is survived by four daughters; Laura Lee (David) Carrier of Pennfield NB, Gail Palk of Moncton NB, Tammy (Andrew) McKenna and Lisa Palk-Newman both of Saint John NB, four grandsons; Joel, Fabian, Spencer and Michiah, her mother, Thelma Cook of Blacks Harbour NB, six sisters; Barbara Leavitt of Beaver Harbour NB, Rose Marie (Roger) Mahar of Blacks Harbour NB, Eunice Scott, Bernice Cook (Steve Mahar) and Judy (Wayne) McGarrigle all of Pennfield NB and Margie (Steve) Brohm of Toronto ON, one brother, Dale (Gwenith) Cook of Hatfield Point NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pamela was predeceased by one sister, Joan Gardner and by her loving guardians, Chester and Rachael.
Pamela was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to music and taking day trips. She often attended Prayer Group at the seniors complex which she lived at. Her smiling face will be missed by many.
The service will take place from the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB on Friday at 1 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. Visiting at the church will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Pamela’s memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes. Association, the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the staff of the SICU at the SJRH for their compassionate and professional care of our mom during her illness. Florence Mildred Leavitt
1930-2009
Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on May 9, 2009, Mrs. Florence Mildred (McGarrigle) Leavitt, wife of the late John G. Leavitt of Blacks Harbour NB, formerly of Back Bay NB. Born at St. George NB on August 13, 1930, she was a daughter of the late James and Seretha (Leavitt) McGarrigle. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Florence is survived by three sons; Aldon (Miko) Leavitt of L’Etange NB, Jerry (Carol) Leavitt and Gary (Cindy) Leavitt botth of Back Bay NB, three daughters; Shirley Wilcox of Utopia NB, Janet (Brad) Henderson of Seeleys Cove NB and Martha (Garfield) Hawkes of Back Bay NB, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, brothers; Gerald McGarrigle of Blacks Harbour, Wesley (Pam) McGarrigle of St. Stephen NB and Kenneth (Jaunita) McGarrigle of Blacks Harbour NB, one sister, Emma Maillet of Blacks Harbour and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by sisters, Mary Walsh, Linda Matheson and Doris Nason and brothers; Lorne, James William and Everett.
Florence was a loving soul who enjoyed to spend time at home with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to watch TV, cook and found joy in feeding the Ducks. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB with visiting on Sunday from 7-9 pm and on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the Seaview Full Gospel Church on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Greta Mae Ukrainetz
1936-2009
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on May 11, 2009, Greta Mae Ukrainetz of Pennfield NB. Born at St. Stephen on February 24, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Prescott and Leona Justason. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Greta is survived by one son, Stephen Ukrainetz (Tina Dickerson) of Pennfield, two grandchildren; Jennifer Ukrainetz of St. Stephen NB and Paul Ukrainetz Jr. of Victoria BC, two brothers; Neil (Donna) Justason of Pennfield and Howard Justason (Deanna Morrell) of Quispamsis NB, two sisters; Melva MacLean of Inverness NS and Marilyn (Dean) Ravithis of London ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Greta was independent minded and she enjoyed reading. She loved landscaping and tending to the flowers. In her spare time Greta liked to paint ceramics and to sit and watch the L’Etang River.
In keeping with Greta’s wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home, St. George NB on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In Greta’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Myrtle May Carter
1931-2009
Surrounded by her family, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on April 25th, 2009, Mrs. Myrtle May (Ward) Carter, wife of the late Raymond G. Carter of Seeley’s Cove NB. Born at Sackville NB on March 27th, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Jean L. (McPhee) Ward. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by two daughters; Bonita (Brian) Russell and Mary (Stephen) Hatt both of St. George NB, one son, Ron (Ida) Carter of Pennfield NB, eight grandchildren; Cari (Chris) Kindelon of Seattle WA, Beth Anne (Brock) Bradford of Pennfield, Brian Carter of Pennfield, Jeffery DeLong (Jessica Breau) of Harvey NB, Mark DeLong (Katie Piasta) of Vancouver BC, Janelle Russell (Jared Olmstead) of Mississauga ON, Jill Hatt and Stephany Hatt both of Calgary AB, seven great grandchildren; Carter Kindelon, Jaiden Carter-Hadland, Rhys Brian Carter, Fritz DeLong, Hazel DeLong, Ethan Jack Sinclair and Draya Scarlett Langlais, two brothers; Charles (Norma) Ward of Moncton NB and Lionel Ward of St. Stephen NB, two sisters; Frances Hicks of Oshawa ON and Joyce Beal (Charlie Daigle) of Aulac NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Raymond, she was predeceased by an infant son, Charles, great grandson, Zachary Russell-Olmstead, one brother, Ronald, one sister, Betty Ann Melanson, one sister in law, Blanche McPhee and one brother in law, Herbert Carter.
Myrtle was a member of the Christ Church (Anglican) at Pennfield NB and The Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branch # 40, St. George NB. She loved working around the yard and watching the boats on Seeley’s Cove. When her door was open this meant she was home and welcomed anybody for a visit.
By Myrtle’s request there will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. In Myrtle’s memory, donations to the St. George And Area Food Bank or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. George "Wayne" McCullough
1945-2009
Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on May 20, 2009, Mr. George “Wayne” McCullough, husband of Mrs. Audrey (Tatton) McCullough of St. Andrews NB. Born at St. Stephen NB on September 29, 1945 he was a son of Everett L. McCullough and the late Eleanor “Ning” (Pelton) McCullough. A loving husband, son, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Audrey, he is survived by his father, Everett of St. Andrews, sons; Ronald, Sterling and George, daughters; Charlene and Robyn and Judy, chosen children; Debbie, Phillip, Carol and Dale, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers; Lorne, Gregory and Timothy Everett and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his daughter, Lynda he was predeceased by his mother Ning, and by one brother, Everett.
Wayne was employed for the past 6 years with Border Security, St. Stephen NB and prior to that with the Town of St. Andrews for a number of years and was a former member of the St. Andrews Fire Department. Wayne loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and a member of the St. Stephen Golf Club. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid sports fan, especially hockey. One of his favorite pastimes was working outside around his home when the weather was nice.
Friends are welcome for a time of visitation at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Saturday from 2 until 4 pm. A time of remembrance will be held at the Bocabec Community Cemetery on Sunday at 3:30 pm. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation and the IWK, Halifax NS are preferred rather than flowers.

John (Jack) Arthur Stuart Reid
1921-2009
At Newport Beach, California on January 10 2009, Mr John (Jack) Arthur Stuart Reid of Huntington Beach, California, husband of Doris E. (Meating) Reid. He was born Oct 10 1921 at New Denver, British Columbia, a son of the late John W. and Thomasina (Boyd) Reid. In addition to his wife Doris E. of Huntington Beach, California he is survived by a daughter Peggy of Denver, Colorado, grand daughters; Tiffany and Desiree and great grand daughters; Lily and Delany all of Colorado.He was predeceased by a brother George.
Jack grew up in Mexico to the age of 18 and came back to Canada to join the RCAF in 1939 when war broke out in Europe. He spent 2 and a half years in the ETO and after the war he returned to Mexico briefly and then moved to California, Santa Fe Springs, Cayoucos and back to Huntington Beach, California. A master machinist by trade he also dabbled in real estate and worked for the State of California.
A memorial service for the immediate family and close friends was held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, at the St George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage St, St George NB, with Rev Keith Osborne officiating. The interment took place at the L’Etete Community Cemetery.A reception was held at the St Mark’s Anglican Church hall following the service
