Anne "Marguerite" Holland
1921-2010
Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on June 7, 2010, Mrs. Anne Marguerite (Murray) Holland, wife of the late Manford Henry Holland, formerly of Blacks Harbour. Born at Pennfield, NB on December 12, 1921, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Myrtle E. (Brown) Murray. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by one son, Lloyd Douglas Holland of Blacks Harbour, two daughters; Esther (Mrs. Maynard Clinch) of St. George NB and Jean (Mrs. William Wright) of Pennfield, seven grandchildren; Jeff (Chris) Clinch of Chamcook, NB, Michael (Paula) Clinch of St. George, Lori (Bob) Adams of Idaho, Sandy Dewar of Belize, Brian (Dawn) Dewar of St. George, Judy Dewar of Fredericton NB and Lynn (Michael) Shaw of St. George, eight great grandchildren; Katherine Dewar, Jan Dewar, Reece Dewar, Liam Robinson, Alisia Shaw, Sarah Shaw, Rachel Clinch and Joshua Clinch, two sisters; Fern Kernighan of Moncton NB and Myrna Murray of Montreal PQ, three brothers; Lester (Dorothy) Murray of Moncton, William (Myrtle) Murray of Winchester ON and Richard (Barb) Murray of Picton ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Manford, she was predeceased by one daughter, Marla Dewar and by five sisters and one brother.
Prior to her retirement, Marguerite worked for Connor’s Bros. until 1986, when she retired from Connor’s Save Easy as head cashier. She was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39, Blacks Harbour, NB, and the Ladies Auxiliary. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
At Marguerite’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In Marguerite’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Murray Francis Barrett
1946-2010
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on May 23, 2010, Mr. Murray Francis Barrett, husband of Mrs. Linda (Holland) Barrett of Seeley’s Cove NB. Born at St. Stephen, NB on October 22, 1946, he was a son of the late Russell and Carmina (McCarten) Barrett. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by one son, Justin Barrett of Lake Utopia NB, two daughters; Angela May (Dwayne) Turnbull of Pennfield, NB and Kimberly Thelma (Paul) Evans of Saint John NB, five grandchildren; Amanda and Quentin Turnbull, Benjaman and Jennifer Dunlap and Chassie Barrett-Hooper, one special great granddaughter, Adysen May Pitre, two brothers; James (Brenda) Barrett and Tommy (Janice) Barrett both of Back Bay NB, five sisters; Janet Ruth (Melvin) Fleet-Matheson of Utopia NB, Patricia Barrett of Back Bay, Eileen Craig of Toronto ON, Carla (Mike) Venne of Quebec and Heather Spicer of Back Bay and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Murray was employed with Lake Utopia Paper as a Maintenance Mechanic for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping, especially in McAdam NB. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family and will be missed by all who knew him.
In keeping with Murray’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In Murray’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Millen Foster Taylor
1926-2010
Surrounded by his loving family at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on May 21, 2010, Mr. Millen Foster Taylor of Bonny River NB passed away. Born at Second Falls NB on November 5, 1926, he was a son of the late Herbert and Ella (Stewart) Taylor. Survived by his wife, Barbara (Matthews) Taylor, one daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Barker of Bethel NB, two sons; Stephen (Gail) Taylor of Canal NB and Jeffrey (Shelley Dougherty) Taylor of Bonny River, three grandchildren; Jill Taylor of Halifax NS, Abigail Barker of Bethel and Ashton Taylor of Bonny River, two brothers, Richard Taylor and Roy Taylor both of Bonny River, one sister, Ruby Taylor of New York and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and five brothers.
Millen worked in Forestry in his early years, both locally and for a short time in British Columbia. He also worked in Baffin Island and Newfoundland. He was also involved in the Trucking Industry for a number of years and in later years worked in the Construction Industry before his retirement.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the family will receive friends and family on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Darren Millett officiating. The interment will follow at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Donations in Millen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.

F. Clayton Dick
1927-2010
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB, following a brief illness, on May 16, 2010, Mr. F. Clayton Dick, husband of Marjorie (Stewart) Dick of L’Etete NB. Born at L’Etete on November 30, 1927, he was a son of the late Bertram and Edith (McMahon) Dick. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Marjorie, he is survived by three sons; Dean (Deborah) Dick of St. George NB, Dale (Margaret) Dick of L’Etete and Jerry Dick of Mascarene NB, two daughters; Joan (Lorne) Leavitt of L’Etete and Lorna (Clifton) Rogers of Minto, NB, seven grandchildren; Pamela Dick, Amanda Dick, Jeffrey Dick, Bradley Rogers, Michelle Rogers, Adam Rogers and Jill Covault, one sister, Marion Barry of St. George and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Elwood, and by one sister, Rhoda Eldridge.
Prior to his retirement, Clayton worked for Connors Bros. at Back Bay as an Industrial Mechanic for over 32 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially biking. He was also a master of fixing things and enjoyed working in his wood pile. He was a member of the L’Etete Church of Christ.
In keeping with Clayton’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm from the L’Etete Church of Christ, L’Etete NB, with Rev. Giles Mullen officiating. In Clayton’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Lloyd Richard Cooke
1940-2009
Most people will remember Lloyd Cooke as an aquaculture pioneer and astute shellfish entrepreneur, but those closest to Lloyd will remember the everyday humans acts that set him apart. He called his son and daughter every day. Lloyd was a devoted father to Everett and Catherine and a loving grandfather to two-year-old Evan. Lloyd was there for the children of others, too. A Boy Scout leader for many years, he took Scouts from Charlotte County to jamborees in Atlantic Canada, Calgary and England.
In the community, Lloyd was known for his business savvy and entrepreneurial spirit. The owner of Cooke’s Shellfish Ltd. In Mascarene, he was a successful businessman in Charlotte County’s aquaculture industry. He was also one of the region’s first fish farmers. Lloyd bought and sold fish throughout Atlantic Canada and New England and he processed clams, mussels, crabs, lobsters and periwinkles. He employed many St. George area residents through his company and for many years he operated a substantial clam business out of Stephenville, NL.
Longtime St. George residents will recall that in his earlier years, Lloyd operated a freight depot for CP Express, and delivered freight throughout Charlotte County. He was also a distributor of Island Fertilizer for several years, operating out of the same location. Prior to that, Lloyd worked as a butcher at Emily Stewart Groceries, which was owned by his mother-in-law at the time. Lloyd worked with Emily until she sold the store.
Lloyd was born on March 29 in Blacks Harbour. He died in the Saint John Regional Hospital as the result of a stroke. He was 69 years old. In addition to his children and grandchild, Everett(Kim Cleghorn) of St. George, Catherine (Peter McBride) of St. Stephen, Evan, he leaves wife, Carolyn, three brothers, Bernard, Gifford and Ronnie, several nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends, Ann and Grady Middleton. He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie, his brothers Hazen and Ernest, his father, Percy, his mother Maretta, his nephew Danny Steeves and niece Susan Justason.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev. Jody McBeth officiating. Visiting at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 10 am until Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Gary Stephen Moore
1957-2009
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB following a period of failing health, on May 16, 2009, Mr. Gary Stephen Moore, husband of Mrs. Brenda (Matthews) Moore of Fairhaven NB. Born at Saint John NB on January 19, 1957, he was a son of Shirley (March) McFee and the late Dennis Moore. A loving husband, son and brother in addition to his wife Brenda, he is survived by his mother, Shirley (Ian)March- McFee of Saint John, one brother, Kevin Moore of Coles Island NB, one step sister, Barb (Don) Collett of Forest ON, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog Beauty. Gary was predeceased by his father Dennis Moore and grandparents Florence and Mathias March.
In his earlier years Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a resident of Deer Island for the past 15 years.
At Gary’s request there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will be held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. John Martin officiating. The interment will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Saint John, NB. In Gary’s memory donations to Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB
