1932-2010
Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at her residence, on July 14, 2010, Mrs. Lorna Carolyn (Greene) Connell, wife of Mr. Ernest D. Connell of Breadalbane NB. Born at Summerfield NB on September 1, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Enoch and Annie Greene. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her loving husband, Ernest, she is survived by one daughter, Deborah Ann Connell of Ottawa ON, three sons; Brian Douglas and Robert Ernest (Susan) both of Calgary AB and David Wayne (Kim) of Grand Bay-Westfield NB, two grandchildren; Justin Mignault of Ottawa ON and Jocelyn Sophia Connell of Grand Bay-Westfield NB, two brothers; Enoch Ronald (Jeannette) of Florenceville NB and Richard (Bess) of Mahone Bay NS, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins with special thanks to her niece, Kim and nephew, Dwight (Sandra) Greene
Lorna loved knitting, crocheting, bird watching and traveling, especially to Hawaii. She was an avid people person who enjoyed spending time with her many, many friends. She was a life long member of the Progressive Conservative Party of NB, Charlotte County Hospital Auxilliary and the OES Granite Chapter # 15 in St. George.
By Lorna’s request there will be no visitation or service. A gathering to share memories and stories will be held at her home on Saturday, July 24th, 2010, between Noon and 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Chester Carvell Lambert
1952-2010
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on July 9, 2010, Mr. Chester Carvell Lambert, husband of Mrs. Dianne (Cooke) Lambert of Back Bay NB. Born at St. Stephen NB on July 2, 1952, he was a son of the late Carvell and Marjorie Lambert. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Dianne, he is survived by two daughters; Kristi Cooke (William) of L’Etete NB and Jennifer Cooke of Back Bay, two grandchildren; Tanner and Rachael, one sister, Marilyn Wilson of Deer Island NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prior to his illness, Chester was the former owner/operator of Seaview Bus Lines, a job he enjoyed very much and worked many years as a local school bus driver. He also worked for Connors Bros Ltd., Blacks Harbour NB, at the Fish Meal Plant and was a Mate on the Irving Tug Lines. Chester loved the water and when his health allowed, enjoyed boating and camping at Deer Island. He was a former member of the Fundy Bay Fire Department and served as an Officer in the Fundy Firefighters Association. He was also a member of the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay, and a member of the PC Party. He was an avid conversationist who loved talking, especially Politics. A well cherished member of the community, he will be missed not only by his family, but by countless friends and the many school children who loved him dearly.
Resting at the Seaview Full Gospel Church from where the service will be held on Monday at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church will take place on Saturday from 7-9 pm and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chester’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Hubert Harold Mitchelmore
1920-2010
Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on July 6, 2010, Mr. Hubert Harold Mitchelmore, husband of Mrs. Rose (Heath) Mitchelmore of St. George NB. Born at Green Island Cove NL on October 15, 1920, he was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Mitchelmore. A loving husband, father and grandfather, in addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by two daughters; Rachel (Dustin) McLean of Fort Nelson BC and Ruth (André) Chiasson of St. George, one grandson, Aden Chaisson, one sister in law, Mazie Mitchelmore of Main Brook NL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers; Guy and Gideon and by one sister, Annie Martha Mitchelmore.
Hubert worked as a labourer for various employers. He enjoyed berry picking and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Andrew Regich officiating. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Hubert’s memory, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Fundy Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.

Vance Henry Matheson
1942-2010
Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on July 2, 2010, Mr. Vance Henry Matheson of St. George NB. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on August 20, 1942, he was a son of the late Henry and Marion (Tucker) Matheson. Vance is survived by three children; Shelly, Chad, and Vance all of Edmonton AB, several grandchildren, one brother, David (Judy) Matheson of Caithness NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Richard Matheson and by one sister, Elizabeth Ann Matheson.
For a number of years, Vance worked as an Oil Delivery Man for Irving Oil. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. Always having a smile for everyone, he will be missed by all who knew him.
At Vance’s request there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be held at a time to be announced at the St. George Rural Cemetery with Rev. David Haddon officiating. In Vance’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Keith Alan McDowell
1935-2010
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on January 6, 2010, Mr. Keith Alan McDowell, husband of Mrs. Clara R. (Norman) McDowell of Pennfield NB. Born at Pennfield on August 2, 1935, he was a son of the late Norman and Helena (Justason) McDowell. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Clara, he is survived by one son, Wayne (Sally) McDowell of Pennfield, two daughters; Peggy (Bill) Justason of Pennfield and Linda (Odule) Breau of Dieppe NB, six grandchildren; Joni (Steven) Stryde of Fort McMurray, AB, Mark (Linda) Henry of Dartmouth NS, Gregory (Megan) Justason of St. George NB, Kenny McDowell of Toronto ON, Lisa Justason of Pennfield and Jillian (Josh) Walton of Moncton, NB, three great grandchildren; Evan, Sarah, and Cole, one sister; Clara Johnson of Holland MI and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Bruce McDowell and by one son in law, Richard Whalen.
Prior to his retirement, Keith was employed by JD Irving Woodlands Division for many years. He was a member and Deacon of the Pennfield Baptist Church for more the 20 years. Keith was a family man who cherished spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed to spend time at his camp and meeting with his friends at Tim’s.
Resting at the Pennfield Baptist Church, Pennfield, NB from where the service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating. The interment will be held at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the Spring. Visiting at the church will take place on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Keith’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Michael Frank Mitchell
1951-2009
Unexpectedly at his residence on December 27, 2009, Mr. Michael Frank Mitchell of Lord’s Cove, Deer Island, NB. Born at St. Stephen, NB on May 23, 1951, he was a son of Hazen “Bud” and Marjorie (Pendleton) Mitchell of Lord’s Cove, NB. A loving son, father, brother and uncle, in addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Mitchell of St. Stephen NB, two children; Trent and Shayla Mitchell of St. Stephen, two brothers; Brian (Jackie) Mitchell of Fairhaven, NB and Daniel Robert (Debbie) Mitchell of Lord’s Cove and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prior to his illness, Mike worked for a number of years with the East Coast Ferry’s and later as a Mate with the Dept. of Transportation of NB. He had a special love for his children who were his pride and joy. In his free time he enjoyed to fly his collection of model airplanes, play a round of golf or rest in front of the TV. He will be missed by all who knew him.
At Mike’s request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder’s Head, Deer Island NB, on Wednesday at 1 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating. In Mike’s memory donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Diabetes. Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Rhona L. Moran
1934-2009
Peacefully at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on December 20, 2009, Mrs. Rhona L. (Alexander) Moran formerly of St. George NB. Born at Springhill NS on October 6, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Abigail (Hatfield) Alexander. A loving mother and grandmother she is survived by her daughter, Susan Guthrie of St. George, NB, her son, Stephen Moran (Juanita Greenlaw) of St. Andrews NB, three grandchildren, Ashley (Holly) Guthrie of Seeley’s Cove NB, Jennifer (Paul) Smith of L’Etang, NB and Steven Moran of St. Andrews NB, three great grandchildren, Jordan Guthrie and Chase and Alexander Smith and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
Rhona was known as a great cook and a woman of simple pleasures. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of the Christ Church (Anglican) at Pennfield, NB.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the Christ Church (Anglican), Pennfield, NB on Wednesday at 11 am with Capt. Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. In Rhona’s memory, donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
