Chester "Dallas" Anthony
1966-2010
Unexpectedly, at Calgary AB on December 2, 2010, Mr. Chester “Dallas” Anthony, formerly of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Blacks Harbour on August 9, 1966, he was a son of the late Ralph and June (Curran) Anthony. A loving father, brother, uncle and nephew, Dallas is survived by one son, Noah Anthony of St. George NB, six sisters; Bonnie (Mark) Seelye and Elizabeth “Betty” Anthony both of Blacks Harbour, Lori (Ian) Hudson of Grand Bay-Westfield NB, Glenna (Allen) Mahar of Pennfield NB, Sherri (David) McLaughlin of St. George and Dorothy (David) Small of Pennfield, two brothers; Bert (Rebecca) Anthony of Pennfield and Howard (Cathy) Anthony of Oak Bay NB and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Dallas was a well known carpenter and cabinet maker who worked for various employers. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. When not working, he loved to play a good game of darts or attend a hockey game. He will be sadly missed by his friends and loving family.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will take place on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour NB with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. In Dallas’ memory, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Madeline Rose Gaudet
1945-2011
At her residence, at Pennfield NB on January 4, 2011, Mrs. Madeline Rose (Stuart) Gaudet, wife of the late P. Raymond Gaudet. Born at St. Stephen NB on July 29, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ethel (Cooke) Stuart. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by one son, Robert Gaudet (Kristen Beney) of Pennfield, two daughters; Denise (Roger) Gaudet-Comeau of Pennfield and Tammy (Clay) Campbell of Stillwater NB, one granddaughter, Amanda Kristy Gaudet-Comeau, one grandson, Rheal Christopher Gaudet-Comeau, one sister, Pearl Thorne of Mississauga ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth Stuart and one sister, Dorothy Ross.
Madeline worked for over 30 years with Canada Post as a Mail Carrier in Pennfield. She loved television and bird watching. She was an avid animal lover and will be missed by her little friends, Cleo and Tanner. Madeline was a member of the Pennfield Scarlet Angels, Red Hatters Society and the birthday girls.
Resting at her residence, 271 Route 176, Pennfield NB with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday at 11:00 am with Father Rolando Suplido officiating. The interment will take place at the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Cemetery, Blacks Harbour NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Madeline’s memory would be preferred to the NB Lung Association or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation. Thomas "Howard" Smith
1939-2011
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on January 4, 2011, Mr. Thomas “Howard” Smith, husband of Mrs. Zelda (Leslie) Smith of Lords Cove, Deer Island NB. Born at Milltown NB on April 17, 1939, he was a son of the late William and Sarah (Caswell) Smith. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his loving wife, Zelda, he is survived by one son, Michael (Darlah) Smith of Quispamsis NB, one daughter, Donna (Shawn) Nixon of Rusagonis NB, four grandchildren; Steve Smith (Amanda McCoy) of Fredericton NB, Alex Smith of Quispamsis NB and Millen and Aiden Nixon of Rusagonis NB, one great grandson, Cohen, one sister, Evelyn (John) Vink of Richardson NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Howard was predeceased by one brother, Everett Smith and by one sister, Margaret Lord.
Howard worked for both Connors Bros Ltd. and East Coast Ferries for many years. He loved woodworking and was an avid reader. Howard was a gifted problem solver and known as the community Mr. Fix It. He was a member of the Lords Cove Church of Christ.
Resting at the Lords Cove Church of Christ, Lords Cove NB from where the service will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jim Davis officiating followed by the interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery, Calders Head NB. Visiting at the church will take place on Thursday from 7-9 pm. In Howard’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB

Jeremy Kenneth Dougan
1991-2011
Unexpectedly at Highway 1, Bethel NB on January 4, 2011, Mr. Jeremy Kenneth Dougan of Pennfield NB. Born at Saint John NB on December 17, 1991 he is the son of Peter Dougan and Diane (Blanchard) Dougan. A loving son, grandson and nephew, he is survived by his father, Peter Dougan of Pennfield NB, his mother, Diane Dougan (Brad Jennings) of Saint John NB, maternal grandmother, Rita (John) Blanchard of Blacks Harbour NB, special companion, Sandy Leland and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Armand Blanchard and his paternal grandparents, Larry and Mildred Dougan.
Jeremy was a recent graduate of Fundy High School, graduating with the Class of 2009. He was a current student, attending NBCC at St. Andrews NB. He was known as a computer enthusiast and when not busy with school he enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at St. Marks Anglican Church, St. George NB on Saturday at 3 pm with Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating. In Jeremy’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or the Charlotte County Flood Relief Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Robert Webber McLay
1936-2011
At his residence on January 6, 2011, Mr. Robert Webber McLay of St. Andrews NB, husband of the late Ann Marie (McCullough) McLay. He was born on May 28, 1936, a son of the late Kenneth and Marian (McBride) McLay. He is survived by one daughter, Michele Nancy (Barry) Schriver of Ft. McMurray AB, three sons; Michael Edward McLay of Kuujjuaq, QC, Territory of Nunavik, Robert Timothy (Martha) McLay of Toronto ON, and Jack Kenneth (Christine) McLay of Ft. McMurray AB, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters; Jean McLay of St. Stephen NB and Norma Feeney of Fall River NS and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heather, one grandson, Luke Timothy McLay, one brother, Bill McLay and by a sister, Margaret McKeen.
Prior to Bob’s retirement, he was employed as a Customs Officer (CBSA)for 36 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed curling, as well as a good game of bridge and in his earlier years played softball. He was a member of the Heather Curling Club as well as a lifetime member of the Woodstock Golf and Curling Club. Bob had served 7 years with the Canadian Navy, based in Halifax and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 8.
A memorial service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Lorne MacLeod officiating. A reception will follow the service at the St. Andrews Legion Hall, St. Andrews NB. Donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, the Luke Timothy McLay Memorial Scholarship Fund or the MS Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Jackie Alfred Doucette
1941-2011
Unexpectedly at New Port Richey FL on January 7, 2011, Mr. Jackie Alfred Doucette, husband of Mrs. Brenda J. (Acton) Doucette of L’Etang NB. Born at Back Bay NB on December 3, 1941, he was a son of the late Erving and Addie (Leavitt) Doucette. A loving husband, father and brother, in addition to his wife Brenda, he is survived by one son, Eldon Doucette of Scarborough ON, one daughter, Angelia (Derwood) Nickerson of Godfrey ON, siblings; Betty Doak of Pickering ON, Charles (Hilda) Doucette of Tangier NS, Calvin Doucette (Olive Brown) of Meductic NB, Jacqueline (Reggie) French of St. George NB and Blake (Pamla) Doucette of Pennfield NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, David Suttie.
Jackie was an avid Bingo player who loved music. He enjoyed playing the guitar, writing songs and dancing. Prior to his retirement, Jackie was the owner of Aero Plastics located in Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Resting at the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB from where the service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the Spring. Visiting at the church will be held on Friday from 7-9 pm. In Jackie's memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Dollard Leroy Steen
1925-2011
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on January 11, 2011, Mr. Dollard Leroy Steen, husband of Mrs. Melva Steen of L’Etang NB. Born at L’Etang NB on May 26, 1925, he was a son of the late Frederick and Muriel Vergie (Morse) Steen. A loving husband, father, step father and grandfather, in addition to his wife, Melva, he is survived by one son, Buddy (Barbara) Steen of Bonny River NB, one daughter, Cheryl Steen (David Barry) of St. George NB, step son, Brian (Judy) Russell of Calgary AB, two step daughters; Nancy (Calvin) Pawn of Bonavista NL and Denise (Michael) French of Hudson ON, five grandsons, two granddaughters and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Dollard was predeceased by his first wife, Evelyn, daughters; Judy and Wendy, two sons; Sterling and Duane and by seven sisters and five brothers.
Prior to his retirement, Dollard operated heavy equipment for various companies. He loved woodworking and crafts and was a skilled handyman who had the ability to fix anything.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB, from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the Spring. Visiting at the funeral home will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Dollard’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes. Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
