Vance Wayne Pendleton
1955-2011
Unexpectedly by accident at L’Etete NB on March 10, 2011, Mr. Vance Wayne Pendleton, husband of Mrs. April (Leslie) Pendleton of Lambertville, Deer Island NB.
Born at Lords Cove, Deer Island NB on March 2, 1955, he was a son of Keith and Bellman (Newman) Pendleton.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, in addition to his loving wife of 36 years, April, he is survived by one son, Benjamin Pendleton of Edmonton AB, one daughter, Jessi (Colin) Green of Bocabec NB, grandchildren; Caleb, Seth and Grace, step grandchildren; Coralee and Katie, his parents, Keith and Bellman Pendleton of Lords Cove NB, two sisters; Ann Leslie (Wayne Morrell) of Robinson ME and Kathy (Arthur) Carpenter of Cummings Cove NB, three brothers; Chris (Patty) Pendleton and Kingsley (Kelly) Pendleton both of Lords Cove NB and Jack (Leslie) Pendleton of St. George NB, sister in law Carol Pendleton of Lords Cove NB and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vance was predeceased by one brother, Loren.
Vance was a true islander, who had a fond love for both the sea and diving.
He was an avid photographer who loved listening to music, especially to the Blues and Jazz.
Vance also had a passion for traveling and was a devoting family man who enjoyed spending all his free time with his family.
He was a member of A.P.E.G.N.B. and the Lords Cove Church of Christ, Lords Cove NB.
At Vance’s request, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Lords Cove Church of Christ, Lords Cove NB, on Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Glenn Cox officiating followed by the interment at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder's Head NB.
In Vance’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Donald "Pete" Morton Baldwin
1917-2011
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on February 17, 2011, Mr. Donald “Pete” Morton Baldwin, husband of Mrs. Dorothea (Spinney) Baldwin of St. George NB.
Born at St. George NB on May 8, 1917, he was a son of the late Morton and Jessie (Armstrong) Baldwin.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Dorothea, he is survived by one son, John (Susan) Baldwin of Fredericton NB, two daughters; Jane (Brian) Slaunwhite of Lower Sackville NS and Beth (Darrell) Bradbury of London ON, two grandsons; Jeffrey Slaunwhite of Red Deer AB and Matthew Slaunwhite of Lower Sackville NS, two sisters; Marjorie Hawkes of Fredericton NB and Anna MacKenzie of Toronto ON and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pete was predeceased by brothers; Harold, Edgar and Oscar and by his sisters; Helen Rubin, Bessie Baldwin, Marian Baldwin and Florence Trynor.
Prior to his retirement, Pete worked as a building inspector for CMHC.
He was a veteran who served as a member of the R.C.A.F. and served overseas during World War II with the R.A.F. as a Bomber Navigator.
He was an avid card player who enjoyed a good hand of cribbage or bridge and was also an avid curler and was a member of the St. George Curling Club.
In his quiet time, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden.
When he had better vision, Pete enjoyed to play golf and liked watching sports.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George NB, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 40, St. George NB and the Hiram & Lebanon Lodge, # 3, AF&AM, Summerside PEI.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
The service will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George NB on Sunday at 2 pm with Rev. Mary Ann Langmaid officiating.
The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. In Pete’s memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes. Association, or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
A reception will be held at the church following the service.

James Elsworth Gaudet
1922-2011
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on February 20, 2011, Mr. James Elsworth Gaudet, husband of Mrs. Georgina (Grace) Gaudet of Blacks Harbour NB.
Born at Blacks Harbour NB on February 4, 1922, he was a son of the late Jesse and Annie (Wilcox) Gaudet. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife, Georgina, he is survived by one son, Gene (Jacqueline) Gaudet of St. George NB, two daughters; Sandra (Zoltan) Szabo of Ajax ON and Margo (Graham) Wiltshire of Blacks Harbour NB, three grandchildren; Angela (Eddy) Martin of St. Stephen NB, Jim Wiltshire (Liz Fillmore) of Moncton NB and Michael Szabo of Oshawa ON, two great grandchildren; Evan and Olivia Martin, two brothers: Maynard (Zella) Gaudet of St. George NB and Burton (Lola) Gaudet of Windsor ON, three sisters; Myrtle Lee of St. Andrews NB, Dorothy Carr of Sussex NB and Mary (Austin) Richardson of Blacks Harbour NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was predeceased by three brothers; Ralph, Albert and Ernest and by two sisters; Marjorie Grant and Belva Carroll.
Prior to his retirement, Jim worked as a mechanist by trade working with Connors Bros in Blacks Harbour NB for over 40 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in Pocologan.
Jim also enjoyed berry picking, playing cards and was a lover of sports.
He was a former member of the Blacks Harbour Fire Department and the Brunswick Curling Club, Blacks Harbour NB.
He was lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 39, Blacks Harbour NB and was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Sixth Hussars–5th Armored Division, serving in Europe from 1941-1945, being involved in many missions including the Liberation of Holland.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 2 pm with Father Paul Doucet officiating.
The interment will take place at the Stella Maris Catholic Cemetery, Blacks Harbour NB in the spring.
Visiting at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7 pm.
In Jim’s memory, donations to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Reginald Roland Richardson
1934-2011
Born on Campobello, NB on October 9, 1934 he was the son of Reginald and Harriet (Homan) Richardson.
He is survived by wife Marilyn (Waite), daughter Lucille Cline (Steven) and son Christopher (Cathy Perkins); four grandchildren, Ross, Travis, Macy and Riley; sisters Andrea (Ken), Gail (Douglas), Beth (Myles); brother Dana (Betty), brother in law Goldie Smith and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, infant daughter Jacqueline Lee; sisters Patricia Smith and Sharon (Barry).
Growing up in Richardson, NB he later enlisted in the Canadian Army.
After serving and returning home he worked on a sardine carrier with his brother in law Goldie.
On July 9, 1961, he married Marilyn (Waite) starting his family.
Most of his life was spent supplying the fishermen with his diving service which he did with dedication and pride, finishing his employment with the DOT and the DI school.
During his diving career he discovered the wreck “Britannia” where some artifacts can still be seen at the Saint John Museum.
With a spirit of adventure and always learning he enjoyed life to the fullest from building and flying his own ultra-lite to building and operating his own hovercraft.
He even acquired his dream of sailing his Cape Dory in 2010.
Music and friends also gave him much pleasure, from playing guitar in earlier years and starting the mandolin at age 69 he had the pleasure of meeting many new friends at bluegrass festivals.
Always enjoying the water and island he and Marilyn spent 20 years collecting Indian arrowheads and artifacts with a collection better than most museums.
More than anything, his love and kindness towards his family and friends was known to all who knew him.
So much loved and missed, he leaves with us his legacy and lessons in life.
By Reggie’s request there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Lords Cove Church of Christ, Lords Cove NB at 2 pm with Rev. Glenn Cox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Norma Jeannette Leslie
1924-2011
At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on March 28, 2011, Mrs. Norma Jeannette (Butler) Leslie, wife of the late Mr. Edson L. Leslie formerly of Deer Island NB.
Born at Calais ME on October 8, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Audley and Frances (Mitchell) Butler.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by two daughters; Janet (Gerald) Lord of Lambertville NB and Joyce (Henry) McGarrigle of Fredericton Junction NB, one son; Lester Leslie (Paula Thibodeau) of Leonardville NB, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Edson, she was predeceased by one brother, Carroll Butler and by one sister, Ethel Wheeler.
Norma had an admiration for the outdoors and nature.
She liked gardening and in her quiet time she enjoyed sewing. She had a great interest in animals, especially cats, and was fond of spending the afternoon bird watching. Norma was a member of the Womans Institute, Deer Island.
Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville NB from where the service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating followed by the interment at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Richardson NB.
Visiting at the church will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
In Norma’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
