Passed peacefully away on November 17, 2007 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Centre, Janet Keats. She was a member of the Salvation Army Park Street Pals. Predeceased by her husband Albert, brother Kenneth Pretty, daughter-in-law Wavey Keats and sons-in-law Mitch Lindal and Heber Chaulk. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories sons: George (Judy) and Wilson (Karen (Pat) both of Grand Falls - Windsor; daughters: Madeline (Ross) Butt of Springdale, Violet (Dave) Strong, Lillian Lindal, Gloria (Alan) Penton and Doreen (Paul) Jenkins all of Grand Falls - Windsor; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn sister Alice George; brothers: Eric (Murial) Pretty and Cecil (Bev) Stevinson and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from The Salvation Army Park Street Citadel with Major Sandra Stokes officiating. Interment at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Caribou Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to The Salvation Army Park Street Citadel Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers are: Mike Young, Brian Higgins, Winston Mulrooney, Roy Cramm, Harry Jenkins and Alec Collins.

Passed peacefully away at his family residence on February 12, 2008 Gary Lane at the age of 53 years. Gary was a topnotch athlete in hockey, baseball and golf. He won numerous individual and team awards in these sports. He also participated at the local, provincial and national levels As well, as his athletic participation he was also an avid sports fan. Predeceased by his mother Elizabeth. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Denise, family pet Brandy, stepsons: Evan and Ryan, stepdaughter Ashlee all of Calgary; father William Lane; brothers: Bill Jr. (Jocelyn) of Carmenville, Rick (Susan) of Torbay and Glen (Terri Ann) of Brigus; sister Karen of Grand Falls - Windsor and also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, February 14, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church with Rev. Randy Lockyer officiating. Interment at The Anglican Cemetery, Union Street. No flowers by request, donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, Grand Falls - Windsor. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Howard Clarence Langdon announces his passing at his home in Botwood on July 7, 2008, aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents, Chesley & Mabel Langdon; brothers , Alan, Ray, Ward, Roy, Harvey, & Ron; sister, Mildred Elliott. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are his wife Lizzie (nee Thorne), daughter Vina of Botwood; son Don (Bernice); granddaughters Nicole (Brad Jones) and Jackueline of Mount Pearl; sisters, Rowena Siteman of Dartmouth, NS, and June (Ross Stone) of Britannia, NL; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. Visitation will take place from Botwood Funeral Home from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 and from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008. The funeral service will take place from the Salvation Army Citadel, Circular Road, Botwood, NL on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 2 pm. Interment to follow at the community cemetery Botwood. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of one’s choice. Pallbears are Gerald Thorne, Art Langdon, Frank Clarke, Milton Samson, Everett Elliott and Brad Jones.

Predeceased by her first husband Josiah Gilbert, second husband Thomas Lyver; sister Cora; brother Wilson and parents: Stephen and Elizabeth Day; step-son Wesley Gilbert. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter June (Lester) Hayden; sons: Robert (Elaine) and Melvin (Marguerite); 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brother Everett (Frances) Day; step-daughter Lillian Thomas and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 7 -9 p.m. and on Sunday, April 20, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from The Windsor Pentecostal Church with Pastor Gary Andrews officiating. Interment at The Pentecostal Cemetery, Caribou Road. Donations in her memory may be made to the Windsor Pentecostal Church Women's Ministry Group. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers are: Melvin Gilbert Jr., Lori Loveless, Marlene Grafton, Wanda Rideout, Stephen Gilbert and Barry Elliott.

Also leaving to mourn brothers: Ted, Jim and Butch; sister, Peg and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
