It is with sadness that families of the late Phoebe Barnes announce her passing at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, ON aged 82 years. Predeceased by her first husband, Joseph J. Sheppard, second husband, Edward L. Barnes & son, Jonathan G. Sheppard. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are her children; Florence (Eugene) Smith of Barrie ON, Marilyn Campbell (Dan Noseworthy) of Alberta, Brad (Karen) Sheppard of Barrie ON, John (Peggy) Barnes of Alberta, Debbie of Barrie ON, Arleen (Michael) Galbraith of Barrie ON and Paula (Darren) Rolfe of Pt. Leamington, NL. The funeral Service will take place Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the Botwood Salvation Army Church with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Botwood. Visitation will take place March 11, 2009 at 7-9 from the Botwood Funeral Home. Pallbearers are: Harry Noseworthy, Sydney Sheppard, Mary Ivany, Jennifer Campbell, Shannon Langdon & Gary Keats. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Botwood Funeral Home.

Ethel Barker
August 1, 1926 - October 31, 2009

It is with sadness that the families of the late Ethel Barker announce her passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 83 years. She is predeceased by her husband, John; brothers Gerald, Harold, and Pearce; sister Madeline. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: sons, Jim, (Peggy) of British Columbia, Leo (Pauline) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, John (Pamela) of Ontario, Joe (Connie) of Ontario, Gary (Pauline) of Ontario, Ed (Brenda) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, and Ray (Sandra) of Summerford, NL; daughters, Lorraine (Doug) of Pasadena, NL, Brenda of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Agnes (Dave) of Pynn Brook, NL, and Patricia (Weston) of Nova Scotia; a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Lorraine (Justin) of Fogo, NL; brother Aeanus (Margaret) of Fogo, NL. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 11:00 am from St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. The interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Main Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Visitation will take place Monday, November 2, 2009 at 7-9 pm and Tuesday November 3, 2009 at 2-4 and 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Reginald Baker
March 9, 1935 - June 24, 2009

It is with sadness that the families of the late Reginald Baker announce his passing at the Central Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, aged 74. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Neta Baker, 11 brothers and sisters. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: his wife Ina; daughter, Regina (Garry) Snow, or Cambridge ON; sons, Regan (Brenda) of Mount Forest, ON, Robert of St. Johns, NL; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan, Hanna and Matthew Snow, Grace, Esther, and Stefan Baker; Sister, Joyce Piercey of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. The funeral service will take place Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 2 pm from the House Of God Assembly, New Bay Road, Grand Falls Windsor, NL with Pastor Nelson Guy officiating. Visitation will take place Friday, June 26, 2009 and Saturday June 27, 2009 at 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 10 Bayley Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. Donations in his memory may be made to the South and Central Health Foundation. Pallbearers are Regan Baker, Robert Baker, Garry Snow, Jonathan Snow, Stefan Baker, and Matthew Snow. June 16, 1945 - June 20, 2009

It is with sadness that the families of the late Vera Antle (neč Jewer) announce her passing at the Cascade Hospice Residence, Chilliwack, BC, aged 64 years. She is predeceased by her father, Bruce Jewer and infant brother. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are: husband, Arthur; son, Adam; daughter, Sylvia; mother Ada; grandchildren, Kayden and Andrew; brothers, Ron (Fern) Jewer, Eric (Rita) Jewer, Bruce (Olive) Jewer, and Frazer (Cindy) Jewer; sister, Olive (Doug) Arthur; as well as a large circle of relative and friends. The funeral service will take place Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 2 pm from The Trinity United Church with Rev. Elizabeth Stewart officiating. Predeceased by his parents. Bennett & Blanche Farr; brothers, Roy, Alec, Cyril, Dave & Clarence. Left to mourn with fond loving memories are his wife, Barbara; son, Benny (Shelley) of Grand Falls Windsor, daughters Judy Cater of Grand Falls-Windsor & Darlene (Lindsey) Sparks of Winnipeg MB; step daughter Tracey; Stepson, Steve (Cecilia); grandchildren, Michael, Nichole, Matthew, Laura, Amanda & Christina; sisters, Pearl Gilbert of Badger, NL & Joy Stover of Ontario; as well as a large circle of relative and friends. Rosanna (Rose) Drover (neé Hutchings)
August 26, 1912 - July 9, 2009

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Rose Drover announce her passing on July 9, 2009 at the Interfaith Home in Corner Brook in her 97th year. Rose is the last survivor of eight children born to Jonathan and Martha Hutchings, Sunnyside, Trinity Bay. At almost 97 years of age, Rose has lived the longest of her parents and siblings. She is survived with fond and loving memories by her children Jean (Robert) Young and Lorraine (James) Simmonds, four grandchildren Judy (Kevin) Sellars, Edward and Roy Simmonds, Kenneth (Terri-Lynn) Young, Grand son-in-law Terry Green (late Rhonda), eight great-grandchildren Christopher, Amanda, Jennifer, Maxine, Jack, Ivy, Adam and Katie. Sisters-in-law Eva Hutchings and Florence Drover, brother-in-law Harry (Brigitte) Drover. Special cousin Gerald (Roberta) Hutchings as well as many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by Husband Kenneth (July 31, 1958), Granddaughter Rhonda Green (July 11, 2008). Family and friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook on Saturday July 11 from 7 - 9 p.m., Sunday July 12 2- 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. A service in celebration of her life will be held on Monday July 13 at 2 p.m. from The Church of St. Michael and all Angels, Park Drive followed by interment at the Anglican section of Townsite cemetery with Rev. Canon Gordon Druggett officiating. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Michael's Memorial Fund. The family guest book maybe signed at www.sunsetmemorial.ca .
