EGILSSON: Sadly, the Egilsson family wishes to announce the death of their brother and uncle, Ari, of Valleyview Care Centre on December 23, 2008. Ari was born June 19,1910 in Brandon, MB to Egil and Sigurbjorg Egilsson. Ari will be lovingly remembered by his brothers: Albert Egilsson of Brandon, Einar (Anne) Egilsson of Ontario; and his sisters Elleen Sutherland, Ontario and Georgina (Terry) Wade of Australia. Ari will also be missed by his nephew Boyd (Maria) and great-nephew Brendan Egilsson of Brandon. Cherishing his memory is his special friend, Harriet Pentland of Riverheights Terrace, Brandon and long-time family friend, Clarabel Webber of Brandon. Ari was predeceased by his wife, Hilda, in 1998. A memorial service will be held at the Central United Church, 327-8th Street, on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ari may be made to the Brandon Area Community Foundation, Box 22096, Brandon, MB, R7A 6Y9.

EDWARDS: Mr. Raymond "Ray" Edwards of Crystal City, MB passed away at the Rock Lake Hospital on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Cremation has taken place. The interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements in care of Brockie Donovan Funeral Home 727 - 0694.

EHRICH: Mr. Leonard Carlton Ehrich, beloved husband of Haroldine, passed away at his residence, Fairview Home, on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the age of 87 years. A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Leonard may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 2W8.

ELLIOTT: Francis William Oberg Elliott (March 5, 1918 – August 18, 2008). On Monday, August 18, 2008, Frank Elliott left this earth to be at rest with his wife and love of his life, Ellen. Frank will be remembered and sadly missed by Roxanne (Randy) Robertson, their children Alexa, Jessica, Tyler, and Erin; Kellee (Ernie) Durrant and sons Joseph and Micheal. Also remembering Frank are long time friends Maurice (Myrna) Donnelly, Ed (Joan) Ludwig, Beatrice (Cameron) Dodd and many others who’s life he touched. Frank worked for the A.F.M. as an Addictions Counsellor for many years. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the caring and supportive staff of Valleyview Care Centre, especially Sandra, Marilyn, Lisa, Sherry, Kelly and Geraldine. Special thanks to Dr. Egan for her compassion and dedication. The Funeral Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon, on Saturday, August 23, 2008 (today) at 1:00 p.m. with Funeral Celebrant, Mr. Lawrence McInnes, officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. ENNS: Bruno Enns of Brandon, formerly of Griswold passed away suddenly on Friday, May 23, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Left to mourn him is his loving wife of 49 years marriage, Anna; children Brenda (Harvey) Linner, Barry, Sharon (Roland) Faucher and Wendy (Ken) Laluk, He will also be sadly missed by his Grandchildren and Step-Grandchildren and their families Jesse,Holly, Andrea, Shauna (Brenda), Tyler, Kaitlyn, Krista(Barry), Danny, Michelle (Sharon), Trish and Wade (Wendy); Brothers Egon (Erna) Enns, Ron (Helen) Enns, Sister Leona (Don) Crampain and Special Cousin Erwin (Lillian) Enns and their families. Bruno was predeceased by his parents Abe (1993) and Agnes (1997), his wife's parents Julien (1968) and Laura (1978), as well as younger sisters Ina (1946) and Elona (1948). Bruno has requested that there be no formal service, so the family asks that you take a moment to remember him in your own way. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bruno may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, 350 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg MB, R3C 3J2 or to a charity of choice.

EWEN: Mr. Lloyd G. W. Ewen, beloved husband of Beth, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, April 14, 2008 at the age of 79 years. Lloyd was born on June 6, 1928 at Waskada, MB. In his early years, Lloyd was a truck driver for various trucking companies around the Waskada area and always had a liking for the big rigs. In 1950, Lloyd moved to Brandon and drove for MacArthur’s. He then worked for many years as a tire salesman at Frank Lawson & Sons. Lloyd joined the Manitoba Telephone System in 1970 where he worked until his retirement in 1988. After retirement, he took pleasure in working in his yard and spending time with his family. Lloyd was always there for his family and many times was a chauffeur for his girls and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Beth; daughters Joan (Dennis) Stepa, Vicki (Ken) Bridger, Arlene Ewen; grandchildren Dustin Bridger (Amy), Cali Bridger (Luke); sister Dorothy (Dot) Dailey and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was predeceased by his parents George (Scotty) and Ellen; brothers Raymond (Pat) and Jim. A graveside service was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Friday, April 18, 2008 with Mona Franklin officiating. Donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the B.R.H.C. Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3 or to a charity of choice.

FRASER, Kenneth Alexander 1925 – 2006. Following a lengthy illness, Ken passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the age of 80 years. Ken is survived by his wife, Margaret (née Luce), his two daughters, Jill and Barbara Little (Don) and six grandchildren: Kyle, Nancy, Ainsley, Christopher, Jacqueline and Monica. He is also survived by his brother, Gerry (Elvera) of Melfort, Saskatchewan and his sister-in-law, Vern Band of White Rock, BC and their children. Ken was born November 14, 1925, in Riding Mountain, Manitoba. He served in the RCNVR during WWII. He moved to Brandon in 1946 where he met Margaret, his wife of 57 years. For 33 years, Ken worked for (and later owned) Christie School Supply, retiring in 1979, to pursue other interests. In accordance with Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service was held at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3 or to a charity of choice. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Assiniboine Centre and Brandon Regional Health Centre for all the care Ken received.

FORSTER: Myrna Forster, beloved wife of Robert Forster, and mother to Lana and Michelle, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, September 7, 2006 with her family at her side. Myrna was born June 11, 1959 in Hartney, Manitoba, one of four daughters and two sons to Harvey and Dorothy Myers. Myrna was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy and sister, Judy, whom she missed dearly. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Lana and Michelle; father, Harvey Myers; sisters, Pat (Ken) Gibson and Linda (Louis) Cabernel; brothers, Larry (Janice) Myers and Brad (Maura) Myers and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Myrna grew up in Belmont until the family moved to the Myers family farm. She attended school in Belmont and Glenboro until she moved to Brandon in 1977. She married Robert Forster on April 8, 1978. After Myrna moved to Brandon, she held positions in insurance, retail management and accounting. Most recently Myrna was a business manager and co-owner of Compusmart in Brandon. Myrna took pleasure in her family, golf, camping, skidooing and her pets. She had a wonderful talent for adding numbers "quicker than a calculator" in her head and drawing nature scenes. Myrna was a great role model for her children and had unconditional love for them. She was a loving and attentive wife. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr Lindsay, Dr du Plooy and all the nurses at Palliative Care who cared so lovingly for our mother during her final days. Also, special thanks to Brad and Maura Myers for their generosity and support. Donations, in memory of Myrna, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, MB R7A 2W8.

FITZPATRICK- ROMAN: Delia Joyce. Joyce passed away October 2, 2007 at the Erickson Personal Care Home. Born April 17, 1927 at Wakopa, Manitoba. Joyce is the second youngest of 13 children born to John Thomas and Gertrude Mary Whittingham. She was an employee of the Brandon Sun for 15 years, working in the mailroom and supervising the newspaper carriers. She also worked for several years at Stan's IGA on Victoria Avenue East. She was predeceased by her first husband Constable John Clayton Fitzpatrick of Brandon P.D. and two children, Orval Clayton (Skippy), and Maureen Gayle Robertson, as well as ten of her siblings - two infant sisters, Gertie, John, Henry, Violet, Albert, Peggy Beatrice and Bill. She is survived by husband Laverne Roman, Onanole, daughter Valerie Howard (Bill), Teulon, Manitoba and son Garry Fitzpatrick (Sarah), Oak Bluff, Manitoba, as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Tari Perez, Bryant and Marissa in Winston, Oregon, Janet Lambourne (Joseph), Evan and Trace, Teulon, Manitoba and Daniel Robertson (Sher), Lainey of Brandon, Jeremiah and Jared Fitzpatrick. Also sister Pearl Foster of Brandon and brother George Whittingham (Lillian) of Durham, England, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Diabetes. Association or the Alzheimer's Society.

FLEMING, Mildred (1915-2007). Mildred Fleming of Brandon, beloved wife of the late Bill Fleming, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the age of 92. Mildred was born in Brandon on May 19, 1915 to Levi & Elsie Hunt, the oldest of four children. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Fleming, brothers Charlie and Arthur Hunt and sister Vi Boewen. She married Bill on November 22, 1950 and together they farmed in Minto for over thirty years until they retired to Brandon on 22nd Street. After her husband’s passing, she moved to the Lions Manor in 2001, then to her final home in Fairview. Mildred is survived by her son Ken Fleming (Judy) of Brandon, daughter Marlene Shipley (Cliff) of Sparwood, BC and son Gary Fleming (Carol) of Minto, 12 Grandchildren and 4 great Grandchildren. Her greatest pleasures were spending time with her children, being very active in the church, singing in numerous choirs and bell playing. She embraced her life with determination and spirit and was always ready for a new challenge. If a family member wanted her to travel she was game, which took her to the East and West Coast from Northern BC to Texas. Later, when she was unable to travel, she thoroughly enjoyed her outings to the family farm for a family wiener roast, card games, bike rides, and bird watching. One night in particular her family could hear her singing the song "In The Good Old Summertime" in her sleep. She had made it very clear that she would some day be singing her way to heaven. Mildred will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Interment followed in the Brandon Cemetery and reception at the Central United Church Auditorium. Active Pallbearers were Grandchildren – Ryan, Trevor and Bryce Fleming and Farrah, Sheila and Candice Shipley. Honorary Pallbearers were Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mildred’s name to the Arthritis Society, Suite 105, 386 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Fairview Home for the care and support given to mom.

FEHILLY: Donal Patrick Fehilly passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the age of 78 years. He was born on March 8, 1929 in Rochdale, Lancashire, England, the youngest child of John and Ellen Fehilly. Although he was the only one born in England, he took great pride in his Irish heritage. Don was educated in England and after his schooling was complete he proceeded with his commitment to the British Army as a paratrooper. His adventures continued as he took a posting with the British West Africa Bank in the Gold Coast (Ghana) from 1950 – 1954. He then immigrated to Canada in 1955, landing in Toronto. In that same year he began working on the D.E.W. (Distant Early Warning) Line in the Canadian Arctic. It was while working and commuting on the D.E.W. Line that he met Victoria Iwacha, and they were married in 1963. Winnipeg became their home and this is where Don began his lifelong career in the auto insurance business. In 1964, Victoria and Don welcomed twins, John and Kathleen. Their younger brother Michael was born in 1966. In 1967, Don was proud to become a Canadian Citizen. After moving to Edmonton and Vancouver, the family settled in Brandon, Manitoba where Don worked for M.P.I. from 1976 until his retirement in 1995. Don’s associations were widespread from coaching and refereeing soccer to many volunteer hours with the Wheat City Lions Club and later the Centennial Lions Club. He and Victoria spent three months of every year in the southern USA where they loved to dance, golf, hike and enjoy all the sights and sounds. Don spent many weekends and weeknights watching his children play in a variety of sports such as basketball, volleyball, badminton and hockey – he never missed a game for any of them. He was their biggest fan. Donal was predeceased by his beloved son Michael, father John and mother Ellen, brothers Charles, John, and sister Lillian. He is survived by his loving wife Victoria, his son John (Corinne) and grandchildren Jordan and Erin of Beausejour, MB, daughter Kathleen (Glen) and grandchildren Maeve and Luke of Saskatoon, SK, daughter-in-law Caryn and granddaughter Miranda of Sidney, Montana, sisters Rita Cunliffe of England and Eileen Duckworth of Australia. Prayers were held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Monday, May 28, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, presided by Father Dominic Yuen. Pallbearers were Glen Douglas, Jordan Fehilly, Roger Cain, Bryan Halley, Les Ewacha and Russell Smyrichinsky. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the coordinators, staff, nurses and health care aides of the Brandon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care Service for their compassionate care. Also thank you to Brockie Donovan, the Catholic Women’s League for a wonderful lunch and to the many friends, co-workers and family members who traveled from near and far to attend. Donations in memory of Donal may be made to the BRHC Foundation (Palliative Care), 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB R7A 2B3.
