BROOKS - Thomas Keith March 24, 1940 - May 31, 2002 After a lengthy and courageous battle, Tom quietly slipped away at the Agape Manor in Calgary. He is survived by his three children and one grandson, Thomas L. Brooks of Calgary, Michelle Brooks (Cory Lake) of Canmore, and Leonard Brooks (Mary Johnson) and baby Xavier Thomas Brooks of Aylmer, PQ (born May 22, 2002). He also leaves to mourn, four sisters, Mary Cowie of Calgary, Geraldine Fralic of Alexandria, ON, Georgina (Leonard) Pitre of Cape Breton, NS and Frances (Reg) Todd of Sooke, BC; plus five nephews and six nieces, a special mention goes to niece Roseanne Milburn and her daughter Jennifer. The family wishes to thank Erna Dreger, Dr. Peter Neury, and the Agape staff for their compassionate care during his illness. There will be no Service in answer to Tom's wishes. If friends or family so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alberta Lung Association. CAMPBELL - Logan B. 1920 - 2002 Logan B. Campbell, born March 26, 1920 in Charleston, Illinois, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on June 6, 2002 following a short and brave struggle with cancer at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his loving wife Nora Stone-Campbell; his children, Stephanie (Don) Garlow of Michigan, Logan (Eileen) Campbell of New Jersey, Craig (Marian) Campbell of Maryland, Shawn (Bill) Jolie of Florida, Talea Faxon of Virginia and David (Diane) Campbell of New Hampshire; his stepchildren, Bill (Lynette) Stone of California, Dennis (Karen) Stone of Calgary, Sharon (Jim) Schaffer of Cardston, Robert (Dianna) Stone of Calgary, and Kevin (Dana) Stone of Calgary; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Logan was predeceased by his first wife Myrneil in 1984. Logan was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Nora served three exciting full-time missions together. He was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force serving twenty-four years as a pilot and was also a veteran of World War II. Logan taught Political Science for a time at Brigham Young University. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Special thanks from all the family to the wonderful nurses and staff in Unit 73 of the Rockyview Hospital. CLOSSON - Lyle Bradley 1964 - 2002 Lyle passed away suddenly on June 1, 2002 at the age of 37 years. Lyle leaves to mourn, his beloved daughter Kalysha; his parents, Dick and Joan Closson; his brother Brian (Gail) Closson; brother Glenn Closson (Victoria) together with his boys, Rhys and Frazer; Kalysha's mother Bonnie Venditti; numerous extended family members, fellow workers and management at ArborCare, members of his various support groups, neighbors and many friends. CREMER - Herbert Hoover 1928 - 2002 Herbert Cremer passed away at the Beverly Centre, Midnapore on Friday, May 31, 2002 at the age of 73 years. He was born in Loverna, Saskatchewan on August 4, 1928 and was raised and educated in Maidstone, Saskatchewan. He later moved to Lloydminster and then to Calgary where he worked as an automotive mechanic. Herbert is survived by his mother Mabel McLean of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; brother Robert (Audrey) of Calgary; and a sister Grace (Alvin) Watson, also of Saskatoon; as well as five nieces, two nephews, eleven great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-nephew. Herbert was predeceased by his father Carl Cremer in 1980. Cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held. CSOKONAY - Maye Christine 1929 - 2002 It is with great sadness that the family of Maye Christine Csokonay (nee Roebuck) announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 at the age of 72 years. Maye is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and MaryAnne Csokonay, and Ron and Audrey Csokonay and their father, Gus Csokonay (Annette) along with her three grandchildren, Brandon, Tanis and Daniel. Maye will also be fondly remembered and deeply missed by the rest of her family including her brothers and sisters, several nieces and nephews and her special friends. Maye touched many lives and generously gave her help through her time with Eastern Star and the Central United Church. Maye was also honoured with positions of Past Matron of North Star Chapter No. 34 O.E.S. and most recently Grand Officer of the Grand Chapter of Alberta, which meant a great deal to her. DAVIES - John Emlyn (Jack) John Emlyn (Jack) Davies passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Sunday, June 2, 2002, in Didsbury Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his sister-in-law Nellie Davies; beloved niece Mary Jane Davies (Zen Kondra), their children, Alex Kondra (Janette) and Andrew Kondra (Joy); and numerous nieces and nephews in South Wales, U.K. He was predeceased by his brothers, David Davies, Joseph Charles Davies, Caradog Davies, half-sister Anne Evans and half-brother Arthur Davies. Jack was born on April 12, 1912 in Bedwelty, South Wales, the son of Arthur and Harriet Davies. He emigrated to Canada in May 1928 with his family and settled in the Garfield district west of Carstairs, Alberta. He was dedicated to Horned Hereford cattle breeding for thirty-five years. He loved his Clydesdale horses and lived for the farm. A private Service was held. No flowers please. Memorial tributes may be made by donating to the charity of your choice. GOUGEON - Alfhild Inga (Allie) (nee Bergquist) Allie passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on May 22, 2002 in White Rock, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest Joseph in 1981. They resided in the Carsland, Calgary and Red Deer areas until their retirement in White Rock, BC in 1969. Allie is survived by three daughters, Doreen (Harold) Cowan, Donna (Alvin) Myhre, Barbara (Bob) Bayne, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl (Phoebe) Bergquist, Arthur (Berta) Bergquist; one sister Gladys (Crawford - deceased) McClelland; six nieces and one nephew. A Memorial Service was held at Peace Portal Alliance Church, White Rock, BC on Monday, May 27, 2002.

ANNEAR - Thomas Montague 1910 - 2002 Thomas Montague Annear of Calgary, passed away at Sarcee Nursing Home on Friday, October 11, 2002 at the age of 92 years. Tom is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Claire; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Ron Holberton, Christine and Ron McKinnon; a son Tom Annear; and grandchildren, Daniel and Pamela Holberton, Katherine and Sarah McKinnon, and Tanya Anderson. Tom is also survived by special nephew Monty (Doris) Annear; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. At Tom's request, a Private Funeral Service will be held at a later date. DOWN - Robert (Bob) Russell Robert (Bob) Russell. Born Parr, Alberta; raised Craigmyle. Passed away peacefully in the Penticton Hospital on October 6, 2002. Bob, a proud Legion member for over fifty-eight years, served as an engineer in World War II. His involvement started at the age of eighteen when he joined the Calgary Highlanders on September 16, 1939. He worked as an engineer in Borden, Ontario where he was eventually made Sergeant of the engineer battalion. After the war, he re-enlisted with the Calgary Highlanders in 1947, staying until 1959. During this time, he was made a Regimental Sergeant Major and in honour of this, he received a certificate from George Pearkes, Minister of National Defence. He came together once again with his fellow comrades from World War II in 1995 when he attended the 50th Anniversary of VE Day in Holland. Bob was one of the original bomb squad members on the Calgary City Police Service and a Detective in Homicide and Criminal Investigation. He started the Police Curling Association in Winnipeg in 1956 and was the President of the Alberta Police Curling Association at that time. Bob was a brother of Mount Lebanon Lodge No. 54 for over fifty years and a charter member of The Kelvingrove Lodge No. 187. He was PDDGM of Calgary Highwood District and known to many Masons for his ritual work. Bob was member of the Shrine marching patrol, of which he became the drillmaster and the Captain of the Unit. He enjoyed memorizing and reciting Robert Service poems for various organizations. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Marjorie of Summerland; sons, Ronald (Mary) and Peter (Wendy), both of Calgary; daughters, Noreen (Franklin) of Edmonton, Roberta (Frank) of Penticton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and sister Myrtle of Langley. He was predeceased by his mother, father, three brothers and two sisters. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at the Summerland Royal Canadian Legion, 14205 Rosedale Ave., Sunday, October 20, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Canyon View Cemetery. ELIASSON - Erik Erik Eliasson, a loving and caring man, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the age of 73 years surrounded by his loving family. Erik is survived by his wife Leona, son Greg (Kim) and very special granddaughter Danielle.
