JOHNSTON - Mary Margaret 1910 - 2002 It is with great sadness that we announce that Mary Margaret Johnston passed away on October 6, 2002 at the age of 91. Margaret was born in Winnipeg, MB, on December 11, 1910. She came to Langden, AB, as an infant in 1911. Later she moved to Calgary. She resided for a short time in Springbank and then moved back to Calgary. A good and gentle person, Margaret was a dedicated wife who is greatly respected, admired, and loved by all who knew her. She traveled extensively all over the world and prior to World War II, she worked in Great Britain, looking after her Uncle. She was married in January 18, 1939 to David Johnston. Margaret was a private, independent, spiritual woman who listened and inspired others with her sense of humor, positive outlook and zest for living. She always appreciated the beauty of nature. Profoundly generous, she gave unselfishly of herself to others, expecting nothing in return. Her legacy of service to others is a tribute to her life - all who trod the road with her and smiled as they went. She will be lovingly remembered as a matriarch and guide by family members. We will remember her generous, uncomplaining spirit and lifelong example of giving. Margaret will be cherished and missed beyond compare by all who had the privilege to be a part of her life. Margaret is survived by her brother Joseph (Ria); nieces and nephew, Carol (Allan) Lysak, Glen, Laurie (Jack) Gilberg, Donna (Brad) Barrett; and great-niece and nephew, Anne and David Lysak.
