DUDEK - Stanislaw 1917 - 2002 Stanislaw Dudek passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Foothills Hospital, on Friday, December 13, 2002 at the age of 85 years. Stanislaw was born in Poland on May 7, 1917. A peaceful, warm, and loving person, he enjoyed spending time with his family above all else. Stanislaw is survived by a sister Stanislawa; four daughters, Katarzyna, Barbara, Grazyna, and Elizabeth; as well as eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends, both here in Calgary and Poland. He was predeceased by his loving wife Maria. ELLIOTT - Mildred Iris Mildred Iris (nee Buckler), beloved wife of Jack Elliott, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on December 5, 2002, at the age of 60 years. Mildred was born on April 25, 1942 in Canmore, Alberta. Besides her loving husband of forty-two years, she is survived by one son Darcy (Diane, Shianne) Elliott; four daughters, Jacqueline (Danny, Andrew) Strong, Monesa (Dan, Keith, Cody) Podmoroff, Marjorie (Barry, Ayla) Cornelson, Gwendelyn (Tero, Xena, Chazz) Lang. She is predeceased by her mother Iris in 1998 and sister Patricia, 1961. Mildred is also survived by her father Roy Buckler; one brother David (Patricia); and two sisters, Ida Williams and Bernice (Maurice) Klotz; including numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred became an inspiration to many and will be forever remembered in our hearts and memories. Services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at Cochrane Valley Community Church, 53 West Aarsby Road, Cochrane, Alberta. FARNSWORTH - Audrey Eileen 1923 - 2002 Audrey Eileen Farnsworth of Calgary passed away at the McKenzie Towne Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at the age of 79 years. Audrey was born on October 31, 1923 in Winnipeg, MB. She moved to Calgary in August of 1926 with her family. Audrey attended Rideau Park School, and C.C.I. High School. She was a member of Christ Church since 1928 and Beta Sigma Phi since 1949. Here in Calgary, Audrey worked for Royal Securities. She spent twenty years in the investment business and over eighteen years as an Executive Secretary of the Rotary Club of Calgary. She was made a Paul Harris Fellow by the club upon her retirement. Audrey is survived by a brother Ron Farnsworth; nieces and nephews, Cathy Cairns (Calvin), Jim Farnsworth (Wendy), Janice Farnsworth, and Margo Farnsworth (Doug), all of Calgary; and great-nieces and nephews, Trevor, Shawn, Margo and Jami. BURGOYNE - Annie Annie Burgoyne, beloved sister of Bob and William Burgoyne, passed away suddenly at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Friday, February 7, 2003. Annie was active, positive and enthusiastic all of her life. She was a very warm and caring person. You could always count on Annie's support all of the time. She worked many years at McGavin's and then Purdy's. Throughout her life, Annie enjoyed travelling, sports and she would give just about anything a try. Annie was a very knowledgeable and well-read person. She was wise beyond her years and always kept a conversation lively and interesting. Annie is survived by her brothers, Bob and William; brother-in-law Ken; nieces and nephews, Susan, Marilyn, Don, Shelley, Dave and Brian. She was also great-aunt to Michelle and Andrew. CHIU - Janet (Kit-Man) Janet (Kit-Man) Chiu, wife of the late Wayne Chiu and devoted mother, went home to be with her Redeemer Jesus Christ on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the age of 52 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Kim, Carmen, Shawn and Ian; as well as her father, five sisters and numerous nephews and nieces. Janet lived a rich life, freely giving of herself to her husband and children. DAWSON - Joyce Isobel 1925 - 2003 With much sadness we announce the passing of Joyce Dawson on Thursday, February 6, 2003, at Bethany Harvest Hills after a long struggle with Alzheimer disease. She passed away very peacefully in the presence of her family. Joyce will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Bill Dawson; her daughter Linda Walters (Bob); her son Jim Dawson; and her granddaughters, Jacquelyn, Christine and Lindsey, all of Calgary. Her father Clarence Comrie; brothers, Gary Comrie, Gerald Comrie (Barb), Dave Comrie (Lorraine), of Edmonton; and sister Shirley Uchman (Robert) of St. Albert also mourn her passing. Joyce was very active in sports, being competitively involved in baseball, badminton, curling, and golf throughout her life. She enjoyed coaching junior girls' curling and was especially proud of her 1979 Winter Club team that she took to the Junior Canadian Championships in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Bethany Harvest Hills for the compassionate and loving care given to Joyce throughout her three and a half years at their facility. FODCHUK - Adeline Adeline Fodchuk (nee Youzwyshyn), beloved wife of Roman Fodchuk of Cochrane, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on February 6, 2003 at the age of 70 years. Besides her loving husband, Adeline will be dearly missed by three daughters, Kathryn (Richard) Dobbin of Burnaby, B.C., Laura (Ferguson) Neville of Kelowna, B.C., Ramona of Calgary; four grandchildren; her brother Joseph (Hilda) and their two sons, Gordon and Reginald; as well as her neighbors and friends in the Toki Estates, where she lived. Her peers in the Nursing Profession will remember her meticulous and loving care. Adeline was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Paul Youzwyshyn of Myrnam and Edmonton, Alberta. Adeline was born on December 6, 1932 in Myrnam, Alberta. She attended a one-room country school house and while in high school, obtained her Music diploma from the Toronto Conservatory of Music. She enjoyed playing at school concerts, music festivals and singing in the choir. She enrolled in the Edmonton General Hospital's School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1955. She married Roman Fodchuk on January 10, 1957 and the couple honeymooned on a train trip to San Francisco, where Roman studied landscape design at the University of California, Berkley and Adeline worked at the Alta Bates Hospital as a Registered Nurse. In 1959, the Fodchuks moved to Ottawa where Adeline worked at the Ottawa General Hospital. Their daughter Kathryn was born in 1960 and daughter Laura in 1961. The small family moved to Massachusetts, Guelph and then back to Ottawa, where Ramona was born in 1967. In 1971 they moved to Calgary. Roman started his own landscape architecture firm while Adeline returned to nursing at the Foothills Hospital. She worked in Medical Records, then the Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit, always giving compassionate nursing care. Adeline retired from nursing due to Multiple Sclerosis. The disease's slow progress rendered her wheelchair-bound and herself requiring specialized home care. Her family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Adeline's Home Caregivers, and the Medical Staff and Nurses at the Foothills Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church (404 Meredith Road N.E., Calgary) on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Patrick Powalinsky officiating. A private family Burial will follow. FOSTER - Beatrice (Pat) 1912 - 2003 Beatrice (Pat) Foster (nee: O'Malley) passed away peacefully in Calgary on Friday, February 7, 2003 at the age of 91 years. Pat was born in Vancouver, BC in 1912 but lived most of her life in Calgary as a very loving wife and mother. She is survived by her only son Richard (Joan); grandchildren, Robert (Michelle) and Carolyn (Tim) all of Calgary; and cousins, Barry Daley and family of Arizona and Chris Costello of England. Pat will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her husband Orville in 1970, her sister Beatrice in 1951, and her brother Jim in 1999. JOHNSON - Beulah Lorraine (nee Morris) 1935 - 2003 Beulah Johnson passed away on Friday, February 7, 2003 at the Oilfields General Hospital in Black Diamond, ending a hard fought battle with lung cancer. Beulah will be greatly missed by Ralph, her husband and best friend of nearly fifty years, and their four children and families, Tip and Chris Johnson (Travis, Breanna, Noel), Fort St. John, B.C.; Kathy Dyment (Garth, Bethany, Amy), Calgary; Sam and Myrla Johnson (Asa, Scott), Black Diamond; Nola and Steve Thorburn (Ben, Sam), Calgary. Two brothers and sisters-in-law also survive her, Noel and Shirley Morris, Calgary, Cody and Alice Morris, Patricia, AB. Beulah was also a valued member of Ralph's family, Charlie Johnson, Thelma Nichol and John Brezniak, Ruth Hamilton, Helen Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Pauline and Bill Thompson, Winston and Virginia Johnson. She was a caring aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Beulah was predeceased by her parents, Asa and Kathleen Morris, her brother Garth "Gary" Morris, her sisters, Sheilah Danforth and Colleen Shell, her granddaughter Cathryn Johnson, her son-in-law Bill Dyment, and two sisters-in-law, June Johnson and Clara Johnson, and brother-in-law Gordon Johnson. Born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, she came to Alberta when she was six years old. She grew up at Naptha, AB, just south of Calgary. She married Ralph in 1953, and they settled in Black Diamond where they spent the next twenty-three years. The past twenty-some years they have lived on the acreage just south of Black Diamond. Beulah was a very special lady to all who knew her. The coffee was always on, and the cookies always ready for those who happened to pop in for a visit. Her grandchildren, who were each one made to feel special when they were with her, adored "Gran". After Ralph retired they bought a fifth-wheel and spent their spare time travelling to Arizona in the winters, and touring Alberta and B.C. in the summers. A Memorial Service will be held at SNODGRASS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks, on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., the Rev. Doug Powell officiating. Cremation took place at Parklawn Crematorium, High River.
