FORBES - Douglas Archibald passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the age of 85. Doug was born on the family farm near Condie, Saskatchewan on August 13, 1918. He was predeceased by his parents Archibald and Muriel Forbes; his brother Donald; his sister Dorothy; and an infant brother Carleton. Doug is survived by his loving wife Josephine (nee Pollock) and his two daughters: Edna (Dale) Wilde and Heather (Jim) McCrum. He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Cathy, Karin and Laurie Wilde and Devon and Colan (Kathy) McCrum. Doug married Josephine on November 20, 1946 and worked in the road construction business for a number of years with his brother Don. He also worked at Sask Power and SaskTel, retiring in 1983. He spent the last twenty years of his life doing the things he enjoyed, helping people with household projects and following the Saskatchewan Roughriders. For the last number of years he has cared for Josephine in their home and followed the successes of his grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rayson, Dr. Clein and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, as well as Doug's AA Group. A Funeral Service to celebrate Doug's life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. Flowers are gratefully declined, however those wishing to make a donation may do so to the charity of their choice in Doug's name.

HOFFMAN, MARTHA CAROLINE - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Cupar Nursing Home. Martha was born on October 13, 1916 and grew up in the Southey District. She married John Louis Hoffman who passed away in 1976 and they farmed at Southey for many years. Martha was predeceased by her loving husband John Louis Hoffman, her daughter Judith Arlet Costea, son-in-law Dean Costea, grandson Gary Costea, great granddaughter Jennifer Beka her parents Richard and Stephanie Schultz, brothers Edward, Jacob, Fernie and Ernest. Martha leaves to mourn her daughter Doreen (Stephen) Walker of Saskatoon, grandchildren Debbie (Grant) Vargo of Regina, Jodie (Ken) Tourscher of Regina, Kelly (Jon) Temme of Toronto, Dr. Shawn (Renelle) Walker of North Dakota, great grandchildren Sarah, Andrew and David Costea of BC, Tyler Mandziak, Michael and Vanessa Vargo all of Regina, Christina, Shayne and Meredith Walker of ND, her sisters Gertrude (Norman) Lauridsen of Regina, Leona (Walter) Ritter of Southey, sisters-in-law Helen Schultz of Southey, Mary Schultz (Jake's wife), Mary Schultz (Ernest's wife) both of Regina, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in Southey Emmanuel Lutheran Church Pastor L. Dressler officiating with interment to follow in the Southey Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday July 9, 2004 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. PEAREN - Joy Massey (Smith-Windsor), passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on July 7, 2004. Much loved by Lloyd, her husband of 54 years and family: Larry (Sonia) Pearen, Stacey and Lea of Yorkton, Sask., Rev. Marilyn (Craig) Evans, Shawn and Lindsay of Calgary, Alta., Don (Sara) Pearen, Angela, Michael and Scott, Indian Head, Sask. Also survived by brother-in-law Tom Forsyth of Reston, Man. and sister-in-law Jean Smith-Windsor of Katepwa lake, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her son David, her parents Rev. James and Winona (Massey) Smith-Windsor, sister Edythe Forsyth, and brothers Grenville Smith-Windsor, Dr. Morley Smith-Windsor and Dr. Brooke Smith-Windsor. Joy was born on June 23, 1926 in Moose Jaw, Sask. As the daughter of a United Church Minister, she lived in several rural towns in Sask. and Man. before graduating from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics. Following her internship at the Toronto General Hospital, she took great pleasure in teaching the nurses at the Regina General Hospital. She enjoyed and greatly contributed to the life of an active farm family. Katepwa Lake was a special place both in her childhood and adulthood. She enjoyed many family vacations throughout North America. Joy was a warm and gentle teacher who loved her many, many piano students nurturing their love of music through performances in recitals, festivals and Conservatory exams. She introduced Music for Young Children to Indian Head and area. Her love of music was shared with her husband and family, and extended to playing the organ at St. Andrew's United Church and other churches in the community, as well accompanying the Sunshine Choir, the St. Andrew's United Church Senior choir, music festival participants and a host of community events. She was an active member willingly sharing her gifts in both her church and her community contributing to a variety of groups over her lifetime. She was a very devoted and loving wife, Mom, Grandma, as well as a valued teacher and friend. She will be remembered as being a kind, gentle-spirited, gracious and loving woman and will be forever missed. The Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Indian Head, Sask., on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 2;00 p.m. with long-time friend, the Rev. Dr. Bill Cross of Winnipeg, Man. officiating. A private family interment at the Indian Head Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers it friends so desire, donations of remembrance can be made to The Joy Pearen Memorial Music Fund (Box 1450, Indian Head, Sask. SOG 2KO) or the Indian Head Hospital Foundation (Box 543, Indian Head, Sask. SOG 2KO).

JOSEPH NOEL (PONCHO) SHEEPSKIN - Assiniboine Indian name is ""Wo-ti-ja-gakin"" ""He who carries the Lodge"". Went to the Spirit world, June 5th, 2004 at his home in Soquel, California. He was born October 5th, 1935, White Bear FN. Poncho fought a very long courageous battle against cancer. He is now at peace and without pain. Poncho leaves to mourn his beautiful loving wife of 20 years, Kathleen (McQuilling) Sheepskin, his animals and one step-son. He also leaves to mourn his brother; John (Irma) Sheepskin (Ocean Man FN), Sisters; Bonnie (Mannie) Toto of the Mucscowpetung FN, Christine (Leonard) Grealey of Ocean Man FN, Brandon, MB. Special granddaughter P.J. McArthur of Pheasant Rump FN. One step-brother Bill White Bear of White Bear FN, Uncle Joseph McArthur of Pheasant Rump FN, Aunts Rosabelle Standingready, Aunt Mary Little Chief of White Bear FN. He was predeceased by his sister; Shirley Anne Shepherd, Mother; Olive Flora McArthur, Father; Joseph ""Jack"" Sheepskin and many nieces & nephews. It was his wishes to have a simple ceremony/service, he was cremated at Soquel, CA, USA, where he made his home for many years. He will be greatly missed. His remains will be coming home to rest at the Ocean Man Cemetery next to ""Mama"" in the near future. The Family would like to thank everyone for their sympathy. Thank you to the Lodges and the Lodgemen for their prayers. The family have plans for a Feast & Giveaway in the near future.

Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8th, 2004 from Boire Funeral Home Chapel, Estevan. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 9th, 2004, from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Estevan, with Rev. Fr. L. Crozon the celebrant. Interment will follow later Friday afternoon at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benson. If relatives and friends so desire, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund for cemetery upkeep, Benson, in memory of Leon Andries. BOTT - We are sorry to announce the passing of our little sister Kathleen Joy Bott on July 2, 2004 following a recurrance of cancer and just after the celebration of her 50th birthday with her family at Phyl and Roy's home at Pilot Butte. Kathy was born on June 16th, 1954 in the Spalding Union Hospital. Unfortunately, she was born with Cerebral Palsy thus her life did not have the fullness that others enjoy, but she always had wonderful smiling eyes. Kathy received her education at the Naicam School. After Dad died in 1969 Mom and Kathy moved to Regina where she lived with Mom until her death in 1983. She continued her life at Cheshire Homes and eventually moved to Wascana Rehabilitation Center where she lived for the last fourteen years. Kathy looked forward to attending Camp East Seal at Manitou Beach annually, and she was health enough to attend the week before her death. Kathy leaves to mourn her sisters Alice (Dick) Tataryn of Anglin Lake, Phyllis (Roy) Amundson of Pilot Butte, Margaret Burt of Edmonton; her brother Bill (Florence) Bott of Melfort; many nieces and nephews as well as many cherished friends among the residents and staff at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Kathy was predeceased by her parents; her brother-in-law Ken Burt; one nephew; and a great niece. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 23rd Avenue, Regina with Rev. James Buenting of All Saints Anglican Church officiating and on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Naicam, SK with Rev. Edward McManus officiating. Interment in Naicam Cemetery. CARDINAL - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Eric Joseph Cardinal, late of Regina, who was suddenly taken from us on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the age of 55. He was predeceased by his parents Louis Sr. and Vitaline (Racette); three brothers Paul, John and Louis Jr.; fatherin-law Walter Buehler; and infant children Shawn and Ashley. Eric is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Dianne; his children Becky and Bill; mother-in-law Marj Buehler; brothers: Robert (Gail), Rick (Diane), Charlie (Carol), Franklin, Brian (Maxine), Verne (Val), and Raymond; sisters Vonnie Desjarlais (Ducky) and Esther McGillis; brothers-in-law Brad and Greg Buehler; sister-in-law Beverly Cardinal; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Prayers will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Peter's R.C. Church. A Celebration of Eric's life will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Peter's R.C. Church, 100 Argyle Street with Rev. Peter Pham presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined. FIORANTE, MARIANNINA "NINA " - passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by her parents in Italy; her husband Giovanni; three brothers, a granddaughter Kyla and son-in-law Edmondo. She leaves to cherish her memory nine loving children, Maria (Ward), Josepha (Ken), Tina, Joe, Esterina (Ewen), Andy, Reno (Karen), Gina (Norm), Lisa (Darrell); seventeen grandchildren: Toni (Terry), Gino (Sherri), Lina (Kris), Dana (Jake), Tessa, Tyler, Kiel, Megan (Mike), Jonathon, Leah, Rianna, Alisha, Justin, Kristofer, Kailey, Linnea and Alexa; three great-grandchildren: Mark, Adam and Noah; and long-time friends Rick, Lynn, Eileen, Candace and special companion Toby. Nina was an angel among us. Her heart and home was open to everyone. She loved to spend her days cooking Italian dishes and baking treats. Her hobbies were gardening and crocheting. Nina was a generous soul who shared her talents with her many friends by being a gracious host in her home and offering care packages of fresh garden vegetables and home cooking to all who visited. Even in her last hours, Nina's thoughts were of her family and their continued well-being. God granted her final wish to say a loving goodbye to all of her nine children. We will miss you "Rosie ". PRAYERS will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 1021 McCarthy Blvd. North, Regina, on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Gerry Bauche, Celebrant. The family extends thanks to the Pasqua Hospital nursing staff of 4B and Physio-therapists Jason and Sheila for their special care.
