GARDNER - On Saturday, August 28, 2004, Eleanor Ruth Gardner widow of E.F.(John) Gardner, Kennedy, Sask., age 78 years. The funeral service will be held in the Kennedy United Church, Kennedy, Sask., on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Barbara Wilkins officiating with interment in Kennedy Cemetery. Predeceased by her husband E.F.John Gardner in 1995 and two grandsons Adrian Gardner in infancy in 1985 and John Calvin Daniel Gardner in 1997, her parents Bill and Zadie England, one brother Warren England and one sister Audrey McKinnon. Ruth is survived by four sons; Don (Cathy) Gardner, Regina, Ron (Lori) Gardner, Kennedy, Dean (Doreen) Gardner, Kennedy and Glen (Nancy) Gardner, Regina, fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, two brothers; George (Edna) England, Saskatoon, and Bob (Cynthia) England, Oliver, B.C., one brother in law, Al McKinnon, Regina, and also her many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire contributions may be made to the Kennedy United Church Memorial Fund, Box 4, Kennedy, Sask., S0G 2R0 as tokens of remembrance.

OXBY - GERALD 1955  2004, late of Regina Beach, SK., passed away suddenly on August 27, 2004. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved partner Michelle and her children Tristan (Crystal) and Brooke; faithful pet, Jake the dog; mother Margaret Oxby; sisters and brother Jeanette (Ted) Markus, David (Rosalyn) Oxby, Nora (Eldon) Ortman; and his nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his father Byron and his sister Dianne Hall. Gerald worked with SaskPower Trans Gas for the last 31 years, with the last years being Regional District Manager. His hobbies were snowmobiling, ATV'ing, fishing, and camping with his best friend. He tried real hard to catch a fish, with little luck. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 2161 Winnipeg Street with Rev. Blair Dixon officiating. Staley, Robert Reginald,

STALEY - ROBERT REGINALD Staley of High River, Alberta passed away August 19, 2004 in the High River Hospital following a bravely fought battle with cancer. Robert is survived by three daughters: Susan Staley and Andrea Kabeary (Doug Kabeary) of High River and Roberta Staley of Vancouver, brothers Allan and Ronald Staley of Saskatchewan, as well as numerous nephews, great-nephews and a niece. Robert is also survived by five grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeffrey, Kristi and Henry Kabeary of High River and Alexander Mulgrew of Vancouver. He is predeceased by his wife, Jessie Grace Staley, of High River. Born in Regina, Sask.. on Sept. 30, 1924, Robert enlisted in the Army in 1943. He fought in Normandy and Belgium, where he was wounded by mortar fire. Upon his release from hospital, Robert joined the Canadian Scottish Regiment. His greatest pride was being part of the liberation of Holland in 1944. Robert was both athletic and scholarly. He achieved art and teaching degrees at the University of British Columbia and University of Calgary, respectively. He played hockey and baseball, although his greatest love was football. Robert was also an accomplished artist, especially in the medium of silkscreen; his works were exhibited across the Prairies. Most of all, Robert was an inspiring art teacher; many of his students won scholarships and achieved national and even international recognition. A funeral service with Honour Party was held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River on Tuesday Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. Burial took place at Highwood Cemetery's Field of Honour. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert Staley's memory to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 71 Scholarship Program in High River. APPERLEY - Tom passed away suddenly September 2, 2004 to reunite with his beloved wife, Olive. He lost a courageous fight with heart problems just after his 72nd birthday. Predeceased by Olive and his parents, Tom's memory is cherished by his daughters Sharon (Ken) Brown, Valerie (Hally) Rose, Dolly (Darris) Wouters; sons Wayne Apperley and Al (Jeannie) Apperley. He also leaves eight grandchildren: Rochelle, Damara, Taryn, Calvin, Derrick, Ashlie, Amber and Lindsay; four great-grandchildren; his sister Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was born near Edenwold, Sk on August 22, 1932. At a very young age Tom met the love of his life, raised five children and spent 50 years of marriage with Olive before she passed on. Tom had a love for cars and recently enjoyed cruising around in his MG Midget convertible. He enjoyed spending time with his children and having conversations with his many friends. Tom was a very special person who was full of love and kindness. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue with Rev. Jim Balfour officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. BOUCHARD - It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Curtis Wayne Bouchard on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the age of 23 years. Predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Lenore Ferguson and Herman Bouchard. Curtis will be lovingly remembered by his fiancé Jessica and daughter, Tamara; his parents, Carol and tony; brother, Kris; sister, Tanis; grandmother, Elise Bouchard and several aunts, uncles and cousins. curtis graduated from Winston Knoll High School in 1999. he received his Bachelor of Physics (Honors) at the University of Regina in April 2003. He was presently a Leading Seaman in the Naval Reserve, with his current achievement being Marine Engineering. All through Curtis' life he enjoyed sports and being with people. In his younger days, Curtis enjoyed the Scouting program. He actively participated in the Minor Hockey Program, High School Football and in University he was on the Wrestling Team. It was at University that he met Jess, his love. They were to be married today. Curtis enjoyed his family and they often went on ski trips together and enjoyed the peaceful times at the cabin on Long Lake. The latest joy of his life was his daughter, Tamata. Curtis will be sadly missed by all that have come to know him. A Memorial Service will be held in Curtis' memory at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Ave., Monday, September 6, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Curtis' memory may be made to his daughter, Tamara's Trust Fund, c/o CIBC, 322 McCarthy Blvd N., Regina, SK, S4R 7M2.
