RAILTON - Jean Railton (nee Hillhouse) late of Regina, Sask. and formerly of Sintaluta, Sask. passed away peacefully, on Saturday February 14, 2004. Born April 5, 1916 on the Ochapowace Reserve near Broadview, Sask. where her father was an agent. Predeceased by her father Robert Fred Hillhouse 1951, her mother Flossie Boston 1964, three brothers; Gordon 1981, Roy 1987 and Elmer (Al) 1996 and two sisters in law; Eileen and Edith. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Wes, one daughter Donna (Clarence) Clark, Regina, one son Alan (Shelley) Railton, Sintaluta, six grandchildren; Scott Clark, Dallas, Texas; Dean Clark, Calgary, Alberta; Karen Clark, Ottawa, Ontario; Tracy Railton, Regina; Brent Railton, Medicine Hat, Alberta and Cory Railton, Saskatoon, Sask., one sister in law Dorothy Hillhouse, Victoria, BC, also her many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Home, Wolseley, Sask. on Tuesday, February 17, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Ms. Connie Sykes officiating with family interment in the Sintaluta Cemetery at a late date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions to the Sintaluta Cemetery c/o Board of Trade or to the Sintaluta Hall Board, Sintaluta, Sask., S0G 4N0 or to a charity of ones choice may be tokens of remembrance.

REDENBACH - On Thursday, February 12, 2004, Louis Redenbach, Grenfell, Sask., and late of the Lakeside Nursing Home, Wolseley, Sask., died at the age of 90 years. The funeral service will be held in the Peace Lutheran Church, Grenfell, Sask., on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Officiant Rev. Sang Rog Choi. Interment of cremated remains in the Grenfell Cemetery, Louis was predeceased by his wife Ella in 1989. He is survived by three daughters: Louella (Dan) McLean, Gail (Raymond) Neuls, Beverley (Lynn) Waugh, all of Courtenay, B.C., nine grandchildren: Danny and Paula; Dean, Lorelei, Tracey and Kristi; Cameron, Ryan and Jean, six great grandchildren: Callee and Travis; Braden and Brittany; Andrew and Hannah. Louis is also survived by his sisters Mary Bolen and Teenie Halverson, as well as his half sisters, half brothers, step siblings, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire contributions to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund Box 520, Grenfell, Sask., S0G 2B0 or to the Lakeside Nursing Home Memorial Fund Box 10, Wolseley, Sask., S0G 5H0 may be tokens of remembrance.

RING - Edward Daniel, M.D., F.R.C.P. (C). It is with deepest sadness that we announce the death of Edward (Danny) in his home February 12th, 2004. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and attended Thompson School, Central Collegiate, and Luther College where he showed great academic aptitude. He volunteered for the Regina Rifles Regiment and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1944. He began his medical studies on scholarship at the University of Saskatchewan and received his M.D. from the University of Manitoba in 1946, receiving academic distinctions. He did post graduate studies in Winnipeg and received his certification in the Specialty of Internal Medicine in 1952. He then moved back to Regina with his first wife and family and established his practice at the Medical Arts Clinic. For a time he was the Chief of Staff at the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital. From 1968 to 1989 he worked for the Saskatchewan Anti-Tuberculosis League in both Fort San and Saskatoon and became the Clinical Director. After his retirement, he updated his certification in Cardiology and continued practicing until 1999. He was a dedicated, passionate, and skilled physician and is fondly remembered by his former patients and colleagues. Edward practiced under the belief that the patient came first and that the Doctor's role was to always listen to their patient. Edward is lovingly remembered by his wife Charmaine, his sons: Daniel (Laurie), Patrick (Linda), and Michael. His stepchildren: Calvin (Sarah), Shelly (Mark), and Donna (Rui). His grandchildren: Cody (Leah), Bronywn, William, and Dean. His step-grandchildren: Brandon, Julian, Stephanie, and Emily. He is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Kathleen, his daughter Lisa, his parents Peter and Katherine, sisters Kay and Mary, and brother Jack. When Edward was younger he was very athletic, playing baseball, football, curling and golf. For a period of time in the 1960's he was a team Doctor for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He had a great love of reading, sports, and classical music. He was an opera buff attending live opera and rarely missing the Saturday Broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera on CBC. Edward will be sadly missed by family and friends. Respecting his wishes there will not be a service.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Margaret Elizabeth (Betty) in 1995. Prayers will be said Monday, February 16, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at the chapel of Matthews Funeral Home, Melville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church, Melville. Arrangements are entrusted to Matthews Funeral Home, Melville.

MAHAN - Kenneth Daryl Mahan passed away at Oxbow, SK Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the age of 65 years. He is survived by his wife, Marie, Oxbow; two daughters, Darla and Dawn, Moosomin; mother-inlaw, Helen Hames, Oxbow; four brothers, Rob (Millie), Larry, Dennis, Gordon; two sisters, Bev Armitage and Marlisle (Tom) Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Eileen, Pat, Elaine; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Victor and Elsie Mahan; brother, Terry. Graveside Memorial Service at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be given to Regina Cancer Patient Lodge or Galloway Health Center X-ray Machine Fund. Arrangements are in care of the Orsted Funeral Home, Oxbow. MORCOM - Ernest (Roy) passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2004 at the age of 83. Roy is survived by Dora, his loving wife of 56 years, his son Doug (Judy), daughters Lynda Stefiuk, Diane Gerrard, and Susan (Robert) Morgan, his brother Allan, and sisters Jessie French, Alice Foster, and Nellie Ritchie; seven grandchildren, Dawn, David, Lori, DeAnna, Adam, Eric, and Jessica. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Mary, brothers Walter and Mark, sisters Dorothy and Eileen. Roy served overseas in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, and spent many years in Regina as a service station operator and mechanic before joining the City of Regina Water Department. During his retirement he enjoyed his garden, woodwork projects, and camping. Roy was a loving father and grandfather whose sense of fun and playfulness leaves treasured memories to those fortunate enough to grow up around him. The family sincerely thanks Dr. Newton as well as all of the staff of the DVA Ward at Wascana Hospital; Drs. Kurtz, Jarikre and Abdulhadi and the staff of Unit 4D; Dr. Klein and the staff of Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Pasqua Hospital. In honor of Roy's wishes no funeral service will be held. A private family interment will follow at a later date. SCOTT - Safe in the arms of God, Mary Elizabeth Scott (Welch) of Assiniboia was freed from her long courageous battle with cancer on April 8 at the age of 87 years. Mary was born November 28, 1916 on a farm south of Willow Bunch and attended Dutch Hollow School into her early teens. She married Alex Scott in 1938 and started their life together farming near Willow Bunch during the difficult "dirty thirties". They retired from the farm and moved into Assiniboia in 1973 where Mary worked at the Co-op cafe

SYHLONYK - Dan (Dumitru) Syhlonyk, resident of Pioneer Village, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2004, after a brief illness. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Eva; children, Peter (Eileen) Syhlonyk, Elaine (Dick) Linton, Ed (Karen) Syhlonyk and Sherry (Doug) Purcell; grandchildren, Tammy, Kim, Shane, Ryland, Raelyne, Randy, Lindsay, Daylen, Cabree and Jenna; great granddaughters, Tristin and Brooklyn; brother, Tony Syhlonyk; sister, Sophie (Oniel) Gieni and many other family. Predeceased by his daughter, Patricia; parents, George and Rachilla; brothers, Mike, Alex, William, John and sister, Belle Paranuik. Dan was born and raised in the Kayville district, where he farmed until his retirement in 1991, upon which he moved to Regina. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2004. Interment will take place in Regina Cemetery Paragon Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements. 359-7776
