EVANCIO, ANNE - was born on April 11, 1919 at Goodeve, Saskatchewan, daughter of Fred and Nellie (nee Kozakevich) Stecyk. Anne received her education at Roberts School at Lake Mona. On November 2, 1943 Anne was united in marriage to Alex Evancio at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Church in Ituna, celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1993. The couple farmed in the Goodeve district until 1982 at which time they built a home in Melville and retired. Anne was an active member of St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Melville and took part in helping the parish ladies at different functions at the Parish Hall. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, sewing, crocheting and traveling. Anne entered eternal rest at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the age of 86 years with family by her side. Predeceased by her parents; husband Alex in 1996; four brothers, Nick, Matt, Bill and Fred Bohay; five sisters, Myrtle Manovich, Pearl Piluk, Katie Kowalchuk, Rose Samyluik and Marioin Harysmuik; Anne leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Ron (Judy) of Dauphin, MB, Don (Linda) of Regina and ARnold (Rebecca) of Regina; eight grandchildren
, Jennifer (Rob Kowalchuk), Ryan, Stephanie (Larry Rauer), Marie (Arnel Roberto), Donald, Donna, Jenny (Trevor Davies), Laurissa, Andrei and Tye; and one brother John (Elise) Stecyk of Calgary, nine great grandchildren Adrian, Raphael, Mina, Rivkah, Jacob, Tierra, Evan, Courtney, Brin. Prayers will be held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 7:00 pm at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Centre. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 11:00 am, Yorkton Memorial Gardens Centre. Interment will be at Yorkton Memorial Gardens. GIBSON - Evelyn Leila Gibson. The family of Evelyn Gibson is saddened to announce her passing at the age of 94 years on December 14, 2005 at Providence Place, Moose Jaw. The Funeral Service will held on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Parkview Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bill Thomson will officiate. Burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Evelyn was born at Yeomans, Sask. on September 28, 1911 to Harvey and Ruby Harper. She attended school in Trossachs and then moved to Weyburn where she completed a business course. Evelyn was employed by the Co-op Creamery in Weyburn, Regina and Esterhazy. Following the War, she married James Gibson. They resided briefly in Assiniboia and Fir Mountain and then settled in Glentworth where they raised their family. Evelyn was manager of the Glentworth Credit Union for seventeen years, before retiring to Moose Jaw in 1971. The slower pace of retirement gave her an opportunity to spend quality time with her husband, children and grandchildren who were all very special to her. She enjoyed serveral trips throughout Canada and the United States. Many leisure hours were spent crocheting and knitting. These special keepsakes will always be treasured by her loved ones. Following the death of her husband, James, in 1987, Evelyn continued to live in her own home. At the age of 91, she moved to the Bentley Retirement Home until ill-health required her to take up residence at Providence Place a year ago. The family wish to express their gratitude to the kind and compassionate staff and special residents of Providence Place who supported her during this past year. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; husband, James; infant son, James Junior; sister, Irma Harper; daughter-in-law, Louise Gibson; and brother-in-law, Steven Herberholz. She leaves to mourn daughters: Doreen (O'Dell) Dodd and Ruby (Roy) Sayers, and son: Bill (Jacquie) Gibson; grandchildren: Clayton (Corinne) Gibson, Trent (Christina) Sayers, Sandi (Michael) Gray, Andrea (Gord) Mc Nally, Jana (Larry) Polupski, Jeff (Michelle) Dodd, Brendon (Gretta) Sayers, Todd Sayers, Nicole, Taylor and Shelby Gibson; sixteen treasured great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Herberholz; neice, Donna (Neil) Hastings; sisters-in-law: Robina (Harold) Crowhurst, Mary (Gordon) Beavis, Margaret (Harold) Wilkinson, Hannah (Mel) Van Horn; as well as many neices and nephews. As part of the Living Legacy Planting Program, Parkview Funeral Chapel will have a tree planted in Wakamow Valley in memory of Evelyn. HOFFMANN, HARTWIG GEORGE

HOFFMANN, HARTWIG GEORGE - born November 12, 1924 in Modosch, Yugoslavia, passed away on Wednesday December 14, 2005 at 81 years of age after a brief period of failing health. He was predeceased by his wife Katie in January 1993. Left to mourn are his sister Hilda Kontz (Michael and family); three daughters, Claudia (Bill, Kim, Chad) Petersmeyer, Monica (Doug, Elissa, Jordan, Ryley) Gillespie, Erica (Russ, Keri, Jered, Tenille) Kirkland. Hartwig, Katie, and their firstborn immigrated to Canada in March 1949. With the help of his wife and family, Hartwig soon began a long and successful career in business. He first owned and operated O.K. Window Cleaning in Regina followed by various other ventures, among which Globe Fabrics was one of his proudest accomplishments. Hartwig will always be remembered by friends and family as having an enthusiasm for telling stories and jokes. The family expresses gratitude to the caregivers at the Regina General Hospital and the Palliative Care staff at Pasqua Hospital. Special thanks to Woody. MACINTOSH, TED

J.A.T. (TED) MACINTOSH April 12, 1921 - Dec 9, 2005 Ted passed away peacefully on December 9, 2005. Ted was a loving husband and a hero to his children and grandchildren. Ted was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and grew up in Lumdsen, the youngest son of Dr. Aden and Florence MacIntosh. Ted was a fighter pilot in the R.C.A.F and flew missions over the Middle East during WW II. Ted received a degree in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan in 1948, and went on to a distinguished career in the public service. A lifetime sportsman, Ted had a great sense of fair play and met everyone with dignity and humor. Ted was an amateur hockey player, baseball player, curler and golfer. He built rinks, organized teams, tied thousands of skates, thawed frozen toes, taught a neighbourhood to throw a curveball, and cheered from the stands at a hundred track meets. Ted curled on the 1973 Senior Provincial Curling Championship rink, and represented Saskatchewan in the national playdowns. An original member of the Regina Beach golf course, he was much loved and respected by his golf friends. At 79, he shot his age only a continuing battle with sand traps prevented something even more spectacular. Ted is lovingly remembered by Mary, his wife of 57 years; sons, Donald (Marlene), John (Lana); daughter, Margaret (Bill Bauer); grandchildren, James MacIntosh (Jill), David MacIntosh, Elizabeth Bauer and Brian Bauer; sister, Adena Pettigrew of Calgary; and sister-in-law, June MacIntosh of Regina. Swing easy Dad. A Memorial Reception will be held on Sunday afternoon December 18th, 2005 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre (4th Ave. and 25th St.) courtesy parking at Saskatoon Funeral Home. Interment will occur at Lumsden in the spring. MCLENNAN, JOHN CHALMERS - May 16, 1918 December 2, 2005.. John was born on the family homestead south east of Wynyard in the Harvard School district. He was the eldest son of James McLennan and Lovina Chalmers. His family included sister Isobel (Ralph) Mercer (deceased), Robert (Joan) McLennan and David (Pat) McLennan. As a child John attended Harvard School. On October 16th, 1940 he married Therese Dupont and together they farmed the family farm. He served in the Armed Forces during World War II. John was known for his keen sense of humour, his love of poetry and nature, his interest in politics, world affairs and sports. Grandpa could always be found with a grandchild on his knew passing on the morale of `The Little Red Hen' or reciting the story of `Chicken Little', and Robert Burns`Ode to a Mouse'. He will be sadly missed by Therese, his loving wife of 65 years, and his six children Verna McLennan, Calgary; Gloria (Vince) Gudmundson, Lethbridge; Denice (Lorne) Lasuita, Regina; Debby (Lorne) Munro, Regina; Laurinda (Jerome) Karakochuk, Wynyard; Corwin (Cindy) McLennan, Moose Jaw. He is also survived by 21 Grandchildren; Nick (Linda) Pohorelic, Calgary; Brant (Joy Bacalso) Pohorelic, Calgary; Scott (Jacquie) Pohorelic, Calgary; Rayna (Darryl) Benke, Calgary; Lori (Trevor) Bennet, Anmore, Cam Gudmundson, Fort McMurray; Kurt (Trina) Gudmundson, Fort McMurray; Dori Gudmundson, Taber; Bobbi Lasuita, Regina; Kerri (Jeff) Thurman, Balgonie; Mikki (Blaine) Lasuita, Calgary; Danni (Mike) Lasuita, Forget; Kristy (Ken) Hendsbee, Regina; Dallas Bausmer, Regina; Lindsey (Carlos) Munro, Regina; Dana (Curtis) Karakochuk, Carievale; Jevon Karakochuk, Wynyard; Cait Karakochuk, Wynyard; Tommy McLennan, Moose Jaw; Eric McLennan, Moose Jaw; Brad McLennan, Moose Jaw; and 21 Great Grandchildren. He was our encyclopedia, our well of knowledge, we are now on our own. And so in the words of Rudyard Kipling: When earth's last picture is painted, and the tubes are twisted and dried, When the oldest colors have faded, and the youngest critic has died, We shall rest, and, faith, we shall need it --lie down for an eon or two, Till the Master of all Good Workmen shall put us to work anew. ANDERS BERNARD NORMAN ASCHIM - July 30, 1922 January 3, 2006 Norman Aschim passed away at Saskatoon City Hospital on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 with his family at his side at the age of 83 years. He is lovingly remembered by Sigrid, his best friend and wife of 62 years; his children Joyce (Morris) Flory of Edmonton, AB, Roy Aschim (Barb Danis) of Calgary, AB, and Carol (Dennis) Rutten of Saskatoon, SK and their families. Norman and Sigrid raised their family in Zehner, Cupar, Nokomis, and Humboldt then living in Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Regina and finally retiring to Saskatoon in 1987 after working for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 42 years. BALFOUR, GEORGE ARTHUR - George died peacefully in the Richmond General Hospital Palliative Care Unit early in the morning of January 2, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Ella: their three children: Brenda (Rob) White of Vancouver: Ruth Balfour (Neal Boyle) of Richmond: and Jim (Heather) Balfour of Regina, SK: six grandchildren he absolutely adored and was utterly devoted to: Bryce, Dylan, Taylor, Rachel, Jared and Liam: one sister Bev (George) Bell of Regina, Saskatchewan and one brother Jack Balfour of Comox, BC. In his working life, George worked for Federated Coops in Regina, Saskatchewan, the Calgary School Board and the Workers Compensation Board of British Columbia as well as teaching for many years at BCIT. In recent years, he assumed numerous responsibilities for Supreme Basics based in Regina, Saskatchewan. He spent many hours working for the church he loved, St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church in Vancouver and for a cause dear to his heart, the Canadian Cancer Society. He was a member of the MG Sports Car Club and an MG and sports car enthusiast for most of his life. George's family would like to express thanks to family physician Dr. Robert Morrell and oncologist Dr. John Yun; but special appreciation and thanks to Dr. Alan Nixon and the staff of the Palliative Care Ward at Richmond General Hospital for their care and compassion during his illness. A Memorial Service to celebrate George's life will be held at St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, 1022 Nelson St., Vancouver, BC on Saturday January 7, 2006 at 2PM.
