BOBOWSKI -- Nick Robert passed away peacefully on September 27, 2002, at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his dad, John and infant grandson, Frederick. Nick is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Eldeen; daughters, Jocelyn Mohr of Regina and Patsy (Sean) Carver of Barrie, ON; grandchildren, Lisa, Robbie and Kayla; mother, Pauline of Regina; brother, The Honourable Judge, Ernie (Addy) Boobowski of Yorkton; sister, Ivy (Lorne) Houk of Regina; Lisa's dad, Darrell as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nick's family, especially his grandchildren were the most important part of his life. A Memorial Service will be held, Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, 2161 Winnipeg Street, Regina with Rev. John Gardner officiating. Special thanks to Leona Carvel, Dr. Clein and staff of Palliative Care Unit at Pasqua Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Center or the Palliative Care Unit, c/o Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina. CYRE -- Jessie Kathleen, on Friday, September 27, 2002, ourmother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend went to join the Creator at the age of 74 years. She is predeceased by her husband Henry, son Ronald, daughter, Donna and infant twin sons at birth. Also her parents Angus and Eliza Burns, in laws Peter and Jane Cyre, brothers; Charlie, Riley, Tommy, Mike, Oscar and Kenneth, sisters; Jeanette and Virginia; granddaughters Destiny and Patricia and grandson Dale. Jessie is survived by her twelve children; Cliff (Lorraine), Doreen (Herman), Delores, Henry (Doris), Angus (Geraldine), Elvis (Tammy), Wilbert (Cynthia), Rhonda (Raymond), Veronica (Phil), Delvina (Romeo), Ruben and Deon. She had 47 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She had adopted sons; Austin Kaye, Rick Kotowich and Darrell Poorman, adopted daughters; Carrie and Courtney. The family would like to send a sincere thanks to the staff in the Palliative Care unit of the Pasqua Hospital for caring for our beautiful mother. A wake will be held on Monday, September 30, 2002 at 4:00 P.M. at the Gordons Gymnasium, Gordon First Nation. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Gordons Gymnasium, with Pastor Brian Larratt officiating. Doris was born on thefamily farm, E 1/4-32-13-11-W.2 in the Alpha School District on April 29th, 1924. Shecompleted her high school in Montmartre and a business course in Winnipeg. Following employment in Wilcox, Yorkton andRegina, she moved to Calgary in 1951. She worked for Shell Resources Canada for 30 years when she retired. Predeceased by her father, Russell (1955), mother, Nana (1981), brothers and sister-in-law, Gordon (1984); Ross and Gwen (1996). Doris issurvived by her brother Earle (Anne)Swinton of Regina, and sister-in-law Brenda Swinton, Richmond, B.C. She is also survived by her special niece, Judy (Bob) McLellan, their children Steven and Heather, Calgary, nephews, Donald (Jill) Swinton, Ian and Marisa, High River, AB, Paul (Debbie) Swinton, Cameron, Cayley and Erin, Calgary; David Swinton, Richmond B.C.; Doug (Audra) Swinton, James and Hannah, St. Albert, AB and KeithSwinton, London, England. Funeral service will be held in Calgary on Friday, December 20th. THOMPSON -- It is with sadness that the family of Thorb Thompson, Katepwa Lake Sask. announce his passing on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the age of 87 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Thorb will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving wife of 60 years, Marg; two daughters: Donna Lee Taylor and her husband Robert; Linda Thompson and her friend Ron; sister Gerry; and many friends and family. Thorb was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Juneau of Montreal. Thorb spent two years overseas, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross at the end of his tour of ops. He enjoyed telling war stories and even chose his licence plate HALLY-F to honor the bomber in which he flew. Thorb was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 57 years. Thorb loved living at the Katepwa where he and Marg enjoyed golf, curling and playing cards. Thorb will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his youthful enjoyment of life. A graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Dorothea Baber, Box 89, Lebret, Sask. S0G 2Y0 to purchase a bench for the Echo Ridge Golf Course in memory of Thorb.

AMBROSE -- With sadness, the family announces the passing of Mike Ambrose, age 95, on December 14, 2002. Mike was born in Romania and arrived in Canada in 1920 to homestead near Wheatstone, SK. Mike married Christina Daniel and was gifted with one daughter. In 1947, they left their farm near Kayville and moved to Moose Jaw. He was employed by the City of Moose Jaw at Memorial Field, Elgin Park and Rosedale Cemetery for over 25 years. He was an active member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, a passionate gardener, and a generous and loving supporter to his family and friends. Mike leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 68 years, Christina; his daughter, Phyllis Kube; grandchildren: Judy Radwanski (Marv Lowe), Janice (Dale) Nash, Jan Radwanski (Liz Naylor); great grandsons: Dylan, Benjamin and Jacob; sister Mary Martin; brother Jack; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Maria; brothers, Nicholai, Vasile and John and sister Sophie Silverson. A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Wednesday, December 18th, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in Parkview Funeral Chapel, Father Stacey Richter will officiated. Burial will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. in the Parkview Funeral Chapel. Donations in Mike's memory can be forwarded to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation c/o Moose Jaw Union Hospital, 455 Fairford St.E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3. As part of the Living Legacy Planting Program, Parkview Funeral Chapel will have a tree planted in Wakamow Valley in Mike's memory.
