KLEIN -- On Sunday, February 2, 2003 Evelyn Klein, late of Elmview Extendicare, passed away at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1975; parents Michael and Clara Huber; two brothers Tony and Matt and three sisters Rosie Stradeski, Sophie Fuchs and Clara Huber. Evelyn is survived by her children Edward (Adeline) of Stewart Valley, Tom (Helen) of Grayson, Lillian (Bob) Fedor of Regina, Mary (Mervin) Kohut of Regina and Mervin (Donna) of Davin; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK with Rev. L. Folk, officiating. The Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sask. Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Box 102, 103 Hospital Dr., Saskatoon, SK, S7N 0W8. Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

KLYM, MICHAL -- Passed away peacefully at the Regina Pioneer Village on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at the age of 88 years. Michal is predeceased by his brother John Knehinicki and sister Dora Todoruk. He is survived by his wife, Nellie; two sons: Vernon (Elizabeth) and Roy (Lois); five grandchildren: Jason, Andrea, Tyler, Dustin and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews. Michal first moved from Manitoba to the Maryfield, SK district where he worked on a farm then went into trucking north of Craven, SK. In 1945 he married Nellie Grandel, later in 1948 they purchased the family farm north of Regina, SK. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 - 2nd Ave., Regina, SK, S4R 1A6. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (Phone 789-8850).

PEEPEETCH, Rose Alma,

PEEPEETCH -- Rose Alma Peepeetch passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 2, 2003 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 68 years of age. Rose was born on November 15, 1934 on the Little Bone Reservation. She was a daughter of Alex and Mary Delia Peepeetch (Henry). Rose attended school at Marival Residential School. Later she worked as a nanny for a period of time in British Columbia. Upon returning to Little Bone Reserve, Rose started her family in a one room mud house that was built by her loving father with friends giving a helping hand. Rose worked very hard at various jobs while rearing her children. In 1968, as her family grew larger, she moved to the northeast corner of Little Bone so that her children would be closer to Crescent Lake School. Soon Rose moved her family into Yorkton so her children could continue their education. Rose continued to work at various jobs in Yorkton. Rose met Peter LaVallee who stood by her and her children for 35 years, until his recent passing on March 11, 2003. Rose enjoyed cooking, cleaning and baking for her children, relatives and many friends. Some of Rose's most memorable shared moments included spending special times at family functions including Mother's Day, Christmas, anniversaries and weddings. She especially enjoyed her 67th birthday party with many friends and family members in attendance. Rose leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Adam Peepeetch (Valerie Sangwais) of Sakimay First Nation, Elizabeth Kaye (Joe) of Calgary, Terry Peepeetch (Verna) of Little Bone First Nation, Sharon Karakochuk of Calgary, Valerie Phillip (Bryan) of Saskatoon, Debbie Pelletier (Myles) of Springside, Kenneth Peepeetch of Saskatoon, Donna Pelletier (Danny) of Regina, Melinda Pelletier (George Allary) of Theodore and Frances Buckle of Rhein. Rose is also survived by 45 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; four sisters, Doreen Myron of Manitoba, Violet Peepeetch of Little Bone First Nation, Mary Boehm of Kamloops, BC and Olive Flamont of Melville and a brother Sidney Peepeetch (Sharon) of Little Bone First Nation. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Alex (1974), Delia (1989), her Godparents, George Henry and Celyne Pelletier; her siblings, Cecilia Wasacaes, Rosie Peepeetch, Marcelline Sparvier, Alexandrian Pelletier, Dora Ponakey, Myrtle Peepeetch and Mary Essenai. Rose was also predeceased by her life-long companion Peter LaVallee and a son-in-law Adam Karakochuk. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church in Yorkton. Interment will follow in Little Bone First Nation Cemetery. Memorials in Rose's name may be made to the Arthritis Society as gifts of remembrance. The family of Rose Alma Peepeetch would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the many friends and extended family members in being with them through their deepest loss of their dear mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. PROUD, LAURIE DEAN,

PROUD -- LAURIE DEAN PROUD, died on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital with his family at his side. Laurie was born October 18, 1956 in Moose Jaw, SK. He graduated from Marengo High School and began working for the Department of National Defence at Alsask, SK, receiving his journeyman papers in Painting and Decorating. Laurie was transferred to Wainwright, AB when the base at Alsask closed. He married Helena-Rose Houldcroft, October 29, 1988 and they resided in Balcarres before moving to Regina. Laurie completed the Applied Photography Course at SIAST. He worked for a Photo Lab before joining Paul Austring Photography as an assistant. Laurie loved working with Paul and Greg at Madcow Studio and had many enjoyable and memorable moments. Laurie was a quiet man of few words. Those who were closest to him know how articulate he was about any subject, especially politics! He was a man of humour, warmth and a generous heart. Laurie was an avid collector, especially toy cars. His greatest love was his family, he was a devoted son, husband, brother, uncle and father. Laurie faced his cancer diagnosis with remarkable courage. After a great fight and struggle, Laurie died with dignity and peace. Laurie is survived by his soul mate Helena-Rose, their children Mary-Kate, Rachel-Lynn and Matthew, his parents George and Joan Proud (Alsask), sister Hilary (Bruce) Burke (Kindersley) and nieces Alexandra and Christina, and family in the U.K. THE CELEBRATION OF LAURIE'S LIFE will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street, Regina on Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Archbishop Michael Peers, assisted by Dean James Merret and Bishop Duncan Wallace. Lunch will be provided following the service in the Cathedral Hall. Viewing of the body will be available at the Cathedral from 10:00 a.m. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to St. Philip Anglican Church, 2855 Lacon Street, Regina, SK, S4N 2A9 or the Trust Fund for the children at the Royal Bank, 950 Victoria Ave. E., Regina, SK, S4N 7A9.
