FLAMAN - Jacob Leon Jake passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on July 23, 2003 at Pioneer Village in Regina. He is survived by his wife Melanie, son Bernard, daughter Katherine, son-in-law David Hrenewich and granddaughter, Emily. He is also survived by brothers Leo and Adolph and sister Elizabeth Tetarenko. He was predeceased by his wife Helga, parents Jacob and Katherine and siblings Edward, Alexander and Margaret. Jake was raised and farmed successfully near Southey for many years. A Funeral Service will be held for family and friends in the Chapel at Pioneer Village, 430 Pioneer Drive at 11:00 a.m. on July 26th, 2003. Interment will be held at Southey Cemetery at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends and family may make donations to the Pioneer Village and Alzheimer's Society in Jake's name. The family wishes to thank the staff of Pioneer Village and the Cupar Nursing Home for the great care and attention that was given to Jake and also to those in the community of Southey who showed understanding and compassion for his declining condition over the last few years. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.

HOBLYAK - Eileen Irene Hoblyak, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at the age of 54 years. She was predeceased by her mother Carolina. Eileen is survived by her son Harley and his father Ed; father Martin Polsfut; sister Rhoda (Ken) McCallen, Jean (Art) Derkson and Lois (Neil) Ponto; nieces Kristie Derkson, Jessica and Jenna Lynn Ponto; nephews Sean (Alana) McCallen, Aran (Debbie) McCallen and Noland Derkson; great nephew Brendan, and great nieces Kaylee and Raija. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK, with Pastor Lee Zabrocki officiating. A private family interment will take place in Wilkie, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pearl Manor, #5-1956 Montreal St. Regina, SK, S4P 1L3 Arrangements are in the care of LEE FUNERAL HOME 757-8645

MANTYAK, Joseph Michael,

MANTYAK - Joseph Michael Joe Mantyak passed away peacefully in Edmonton on July 22, 2003 at the age of 69 years. Joe was born in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK on May 9, 1934. He will be missed by two sons, Jeff and wife, Debbie of Lethbridge; Darren and wife, Pamela of Edmonton; and daughter, Lori-Anne and husband, Daryll of St. Paul. Joe will also leave behind his two grandsons, Tyler and Dylan; and siblings, Mark, Anne, Peter, Richard and Lawrence. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary in 1991, his father, Michael and mother, Pauline. Joe grew up as a farm boy in rural Saskatchewan and always felt a strong connection to the family farm. He joined the RCMP in 1952 and served in numerous postings including: Ottawa, Vancouver, St. Paul, Two Hills, Camrose, Bashaw, Whitecourt and Edmonton. Joe left the RCMP in 1971 and continued to live in Edmonton with Mary and his children. Joe was a fanatical sports watcher and enjoyed reading books regarding history and political figures. In keeping with Joe's wishes, he will return to the Fort Qu'Appelle valley and be interred in the Lebret Cemetery with his parents. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held of Tuesday. July 29, 2003 at 10:30 A.M at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK., with Rev. Rick Kroschek, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Edmonton General Hospital, c/o Palliative Care Unit 9Y, 11111 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5K 0L4. Arrangements are in the care of Lee Funeral Home 757-8645

ALLEMANG, MARGARET FERNIE,

ALLEMANG, MARGARET FERNIE - Margaret Peggy passed away July 21, 2003 at the age of 96 years. She was born June 4, 1907 to Alexandria and James Black of Bowden, Alberta. She married Anson Allemang on November 12, 1929. She and Anson resided in Bowden until his passing in 1991. In 1993 Peggy moved to Regina to be near her only son and resided in Palliser Place until her passing. While in her own home, her favorite activity was her flower garden which earned her many awards at the local fair. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her only son Ronald of Regina. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Bowden where her ashes will be scattered over the graves of her mother and father. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the William Booth Special Care Home, 50 Angus Road, Regina, S4R 8P6. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.

BLACK, LAVONNE RAE - It is with great sadness that the family of LaVonne Black announces her passing on July 19, 2003 near Ear Falls, Ontario. LaVonne was born in Oxbow on October 17, 1952. She grew up on the family farm at Northgate, prior to attending university. She convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with her BSc (Math), B.Ed. and Bachelor of Laws. She articled with the Saskatchewan School Trustees in 1980, and continued to work there as legal counsel until her death. LaVonne was passionate about life and loved Christmas, entertaining, music and dance, and a good debate. Above all, LaVonne cared about people. In the last year of her life, LaVonne found true love in her fiance, Richard Bazille. She leaves to mourn Richard, Ear Falls, Ontario, her daughter Jasmine Beriault, Regina, and her parents Ray and Orvina Black, Oxbow. LaVonne also leaves to mourn her brothers Wayne Black (Sharryn), Calgary, Trevor Black, Edmonton, her sister Noela Crowe-Salazar (Hector), Regina, nieces Landys Black and Kyla Craig (David), Calgary and nephew Skyler Crowe-Salazar, Regina; sister-in-law Tami Scott (Ian), Northgate; Jasmine's father, David Beriault (Judy) of Regina; Richard's family, Richard Bazille Jr. (Elissa), Nipawin and Simone Stewart (Brian), Vancouver; step-grandchildren Henry, Alexander and Eva Stewart, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. LaVonne was predeceased by her brother, Orvin Black.
Friends and family may make donations to the charity of their choice in LaVonne's memory. Funeral services to be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Oxbow, Saskatchewan on Friday, July 25, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements in care of Orsted Funeral Home, Oxbow.

FARNDEN - Frederick George Farnden, passed away at Oxbow, Sask. on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at the age of 79 years. Survived by his brother, David (Audrey) Farnden. Four sisters, Olive (Cliff) Bell; Isabel Harrison; Ena Banks; Kathleen Sweet. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Percival and Minnie Farnden; brothers, Art; Dan; Bob and Roy in infancy. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4 from All Saints Anglican Church, Oxbow with Rev. Marlene Haygarth officiating. Interment to follow at Alameda Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are in care of the Orsted Funeral Home, Oxbow. Allan StyreEvelyn Yeates
