BLARY - Willemina (Mieke) Magdalena (nee Weber) Willemina (Mieke) Magdalena Blary nee Weber, passed away suddenly last week in her home in Pica, Chile at the age of 56. Born in Rotterdam, Holland, Mieke moved to Calgary with her husband in the early 1970's where she established herself over the next thirty years as an artist known for her scenic landscapes in watercolour and oil. She remarried in 2002 and moved to Chile in December of that year. She is survived by her husband in Chile, three children (from her previous marriage) in Calgary and her mother, sister, and six nieces and nephews in Holland. FOLKERTS - Klaas 1928 - 2004 Klaas Folkerts, beloved husband of Riet Folkerts of Calgary, went to be with his Lord at the Agape Hospice on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the age of 76 years. Klaas was born in Franeker, Holland on March 15, 1928 and immigrated to Canada in 1948. He was an active member of First C.R.C. for over fifty years. Besides his loving wife of fifty-two years, Klaas is remembered by three daughters and a son, Joanne and Ralph, Agnes and Paul, Mary-Anne and Jon, and Martin and Jodie; beloved Pake of eleven favourite grandchildren, Janelle, Shannon, Kurtis, Kyle (Ingrid), Lisa, Jason, Andrea, Philip, Danielle, Jordan, and Kara. He is also survived by three brothers, four sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews. Klaas was predeceased by three brothers. GRIEVE - Albert Thomas Albert Thomas Grieve, beloved husband of the late Mary Grieve of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on August 2, 2004, at the age of 80 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Marie (Ameer) and Margaret (Luis); his grandchildren, Kaylee and Deven; five brothers and numerous other relatives. HUNT - Edwin "Garry" 1945 - 2004 Edwin "Garry" Hunt, beloved husband of Anne Hunt of Calgary, passed away at the age of 59 on August 3, 2004, after a courageous month long battle with cancer. Garry was born on January 22, 1945 in Victoria, BC. Garry moved to Edmonton in 1964 and married Anne in 1965. In 1970 they came to Calgary, where he built his business and over thirty-five years became one of the most respected Sales and Marketing Representatives in the Furniture Industry. He was known and loved by all he worked with. Garry had a great love for the outdoors and especially the West Coast. He enjoyed fishing, golf and horseback riding. He also had a sense of community, being involved with the Masons and Shriners in past years and recently with the No Ka Oi Ranch Foundation. Garry treasured spending time with both his family and extended family, his loved ones always came first and he was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Besides his loving wife, Garry is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Scott Hunt and Leslie McDaniel of Calgary; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jay Printz of Monaco; three grandchildren, Meagan and Shelby Hunt and Isabelle Printz; and his uncle Rod McLeod of Victoria, BC. BOOKER - John A. John A. (Johnny) Booker, May 15, 1917 - August 24, 2004, passed away at home surrounded by his family. Born in Didsbury, Alberta, he enlisted in the Calgary Highlanders in September 1939, and then transferred to the Calgary Tank Regiment. He was captured at Dieppe and held prisoner until the spring of 1945. After the war, he joined The Alberta Forestry Service and worked as a fire-control officer in the Lac La Biche, Crowsnest and Bow forests. When he retired, he joined the Alberta Forest Service waterbomber crews as an Air Liaison Officer for ten years. John particularly enjoyed outdoor activities. John is survived by his wife Frances and his children, Deloris, Patricia, Douglas (Pamela), Lorette and Robert (Anne); his granddaughters, Sarah, Elizabeth, Emily, Juliet; and his step-grandchildren, Tylor, Davin, Brittney and Brea-Ann. He was predeceased by his bother Peter and his sister Josephine Saunders. A private family Interment will take place at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. CAMPBELL - Mary Lucille (nee Wadge) Mary Lucille (nee Wadge) passed away in Calgary on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the age of 97 years. Lucille was born at Rouleau, Saskatchewan on May 27, 1907, the only child of Ellen (Nellie Nixon) and Archibald Wadge. She lived at Hearne and obtained her high school education at Collegiate in Moose Jaw and Regina. In 1925 to 1926, she attended Normal School in Regina and in 1933 obtained a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics from the University of Saskatchewan. In 1946, she and her husband Mel moved to Port Radium, N.W.T. where he worked as a chemical assayer for Eldorado Mining and Refining. Lucille opened the first school on Port Radium in 1947. In 1948 they moved to Calgary where she taught at Western Canada, Balmoral, and Viscount Bennett until 1972. Lucille was an active member of the University Women's Club since 1949, the Retired Teachers' Association, Scarboro United Church, and enjoyed playing Bridge. She also "adopted" many cousins and other young people who came to Calgary for post secondary training, giving them a home and the polish she thought they needed to succeed in the world! Lucille was predeceased by her husband Melville, in 1972. She is survived by her cousins, Gwen, Sharon, Karen and Marion Nelson; Robert Amiss, Hugh Nixon and family, Ellinore Milner and family, Jeff and Douglas Bovee, Glenys Melson and her family; and her brother-in-law Bert Campbell and family. Funeral Services will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Monday, August 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
